Ok, I'm going to go against the grain here.

Horatio, when you told her you weren't having fun, were you sincere? Did you really mean that? Because if you did, then it is the truth, and no matter how bad she feels right now, it will be a lot better than if you had continued to "protect her feelings" with falsehoods, no matter how well-meaning they would have been. Also, don't plan to try to make it up to her unless you are sincere about staying with her. If you really have some problems, you guys need to talk about them, but only if you're totally honest about it.

The way I see it, you phrased exactly what your feelings were about the situation. I gather that she was unaware that you felt that way. Disillusion is always difficult. I don't know if you could have phrased what you said better, but if you were being honest, you have nothing to reproach yourself with in that arena.

Give her a few days to deal with the hurt. Then try to reconnect and talk about the situation.

I have to agree with Saz here.

You said in your post that things "haven't been so great"

If that is the truth, then you did the right thing. You may want to apologize for your poor choice of words, but if you feel that the relationship isn't working, you may want to end it before causing more pain.

On the other hand, if you said it just to be mean, shame on you. [img]graemlins/idontagreeatall.gif[/img] But, I doubt you did that.

If you want to hold on to this relationship, understand that ALL successful relationships take work. Talk it out, and agree to work on it.
