im for single class. the high level skills each class gets is what i like best about these games, and multiclassing doesnt allow me to get those.

lol; I dont mean to contradict you... but I *did* multi class, then re-loaded.. but before I re-loaded, I found that you *could* have 2 animals; 1 ranger/druid compaion, and one familar.. hehe, was quite funny actually.

Multiclassing the right class is important too. I took a couple levels in Cleric on my druid character, and that was very handy. I also chose the Animal realm when picking cleric, which allows all my druids summons to be one 1 level higher than they normally would be. a few extra healing spells and turn undead, and i've got a bada$$ druid also had a druid multi with ranger, 12 druid/5 ranger so far, and a dual wielding scimitar druid with a dire wolf companion is very nice!

I would mix figher and rogue a bit, just to enable the PC to remove traps or pick the occasional Bash-stubborn lock.
I certainly would not dilute a casting class by mixing, though. That 1 or 2 levels of Fighter isn't worth the level 8 or 9 spell it will cost...

with a spellcaster, i say unless you could have more than 20 levels, i wouldnt multi. too many good spells at high levels. i have a great ranger/thief that dual-wields shortswords. ranger and thief compliment each other. they both hide and move silently, so i can put into those skills when i level up as a ranger, and the search, locks, and traps when i level as a thief. im alternating classes at each level, and when he hits, he does some damage. the sneak attack is great, because an extra 3d6 damage is no laughing matter. ill just stay with a 20th level sorceror. haste, greaterstoneskin, timestop, tensers transformation equals DEATH!!! heh.

You'd be surprised how much better your survivability as a mage is. The price is that you're functionally one spell-level behind the pack. But the nice thing is that you can switch back-and forth for the cost of one 9th level spell and one 8th level spell. Most of which are all-or-nothing in their application.

Well i don't have the high level charecters you do but i tryed started a mage, i allways do, and i just couldn't get far without resting which ruined the fun. Currently i'm a 4th level fighter 4th level mage and the combination is great there are lots of spells that compliment a fighter class. So i can't cast the higher level spells but i will have alot more hitpoints and when my spells run out i can still deal lots of damage and evade apponents attacks.

Multi classing is one of the things I realy like about this game because it is the first game for the comp that I can make my fav PnP character with. For table top DnD I almost always play a dual class fighter/blade bard. I like that blade bards abilities and always thought that it should have been a fighter class in the 2nd edition hand book. Now I dont have to dual , I can take my main class as a fighter and every few levels take on a level of rogue to get the blades special abilites like ambidexterity, called shots and thieving skills. The only thing missing is the defensive and offensive spins
