Mate, I don't care if you apologise or not, that's your call and it doesn't concern me. Just don't do it again. We're already suspended one person for swearing in this forum, you don't want to be the second, is what I'm saying. We won't have people swearing at other forum members in this forum.

Chewy, please don't respond to this particular issue as I have already addressed it with Oblivion.

Had a person used the word "matey" as in "look here matey" (with a vocal emphasis on the last word) you might have had good reason to suspect he didn't really like you, but you still have only had that expressed by nuance as opposed to being directly insulted.
It matters little what a mannerism is supposed to mean, positive or negative, if in application it is deliberately employed in absolute reverse.

Besides, I'm talking about something that didn't happen on these boards, and emphtasis is somewhat difficult to lend...If you go to the trouble of codifying emphasis while posting an insult, let's face it, you're trying too hard.

Both G'Day and Mate have been used against me as insults in the past, in the context so used. If you're going to be sarcastic, better still to be sarcastic in such a fashion that your mannerisms are used sarcastically.

I am not being sarcastic - I am being up front. I am telling you that you are wrong - plain and simple wrong. Not that I expect you to admit it mind, because I suspect the W word is not a large part of your vocabulary. Fair suck of the sav mate - you are the one that is coming the raw prawn with me. (please to note - interpretation of those Australianisms is neither vulgar nor insulting - I will be interested what you make of them).

I didn't say you were being sarcastic.

I said they were being sarcastic...

Then again, wrong is one word, it shouldn't be a large part of your vocabulary.

No problem and no worries. I have already made the only response worth making.

In an attempt to drag this thread back on topic - I noticed in one of the earlier posts that comments were being made regarding the impact this film will have on the Presidential election.

But among all the enthusiastic speculations, one Senator mentioned that the impact of this film will largely "wear off" by the time November comes around. I'm sure many that have seen the film disagree, but I'm talking about the impact it will have on the conservatives that saw it. One person that was quoted in the article was a wealthy white collar person that said (as he leaned against his Lexus) that he would have to seriously reconsider voting for George Bush in November. That may be the case now, but I really doubt his resolve will last - especially when he remembers the benefits Republican Administrations grant people of his income level.

However, Moore is a smart man. I haven't seen any official announcements, but I would bet a dollar to a donut hole that F 9/11 will be released on DVD and VHS the first week of November. This will give many viewers the chance to "recapture" the doubt they have regarding George Bush after seeing the film. It will also be a chance for many NEW viewers to see the film for the first time - and by timing it just 3-4 weeks before the election, Moore would stand a good chance of swinging some votes with his movie.

That's my prediction regarding F9/11's release anyway. We'll see if it happens or not.

Hey Cerek

If Moore had not thought of that yet, after reading youre post I'm sure he will "make it so"

Got any *MOORE* ideas that will help the left win

LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!! I highly doubt that Moore visits IW (although I may go to his site and invite him ), but Moore is more than smart enough to figure that little trick out all by himself.

How else can we help the "left" win?? Announce that Bush is hiring Rush Limbaugh as his new Press Secretary and Ann Coulter will be in charge of Foreign Relations.

If that doesn't work, then announce that Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell have been chosen to head the new Dept of Homeland Religion Security. That should be the icing on the cake.

Well, it does make business sense, and certainly, if Moore hadn't thought of it, his distributors would.

I'm not sure I want the "left" (calling some of these Authoritarian jokers leftists makes me sick) to win anything right now. The big talking heads among them put beating Bush in November ahead of beating Al-Qaeda, fixing up the situation in Iraq, dismantling Homeland Security, or getting rid of the patriot act.

So. Oblivion is yet again trying to tell Australians about their own culture/nation. Hey Oblivion. Go and visit the place. Buy a plane ticket and check it out. Otherwise shut up. "Sunshine" is indeed insulting. "Mate" and "G'day" certainly are not. Davros - the Australian - is correct in his assertions about Australian lingo, and you are wrong in your assertions about Australia. Yet again.

Go and visit the place or shut up.
