Gaelic, you spout the Republican line so truly that you cannot fool me with your claims of nonpartisan affiliation.

I would have voted for McCain, he was the only candidate with b@ll$. Bush's campaign smeared him in the primaries, Bush has no honor.

Oh, come on! You don't expect HONOUR from politicians do you? Read your Machiavelli! You can bet they have - well, their advisors have anyway. Most premiers probably have difficulty reading 'the cat sat on the mat'!

Hmmm, I agree, that last line was a little bit ridiculous.

After reading John D. Harris' post I feel like crying.
Now remember kids, this is constructive discussion, we tread the line sometimes but lets not make any personal insults and be minimally respectful at least.

Anyway, what makes you so convinced the US will collapse because people want to mooch off the government... I think you need to know more liberals. I know alot... and I don't know any of them who WANT to be supported by the government. I have known people on welfare, its the same thing. The picture that has been painted is distorted. Pride in ones work is a human quality, not a conservative one. And try and have a little more faith in people and this country...

And the accountability in government... this local government accountability theory is the silliest thing I've heard. Name your Mayor, County Comissioners, State Representative, State Senator.
I'm involved in local politics,... I still hardly know who these people are.
The media watches national politicians with the eyes of a hawk (there is a man from california who knows this too well)... and our local politicians are too often anonymous faces. How are they MORE accountable if you don't know the stupid things they are doing? And even if YOU do, will your neighbors, and your city... will they care?
I don't have the time or interest to keep track of so many politicians...

And for Gaelic, can you please provide more specific examples of Gore lying about his Vietnam service. You seem very convinced that he lied about it... care to fill us in. Please link an article or something... don't just paraphrase Rush.

Greadius,
I don't take anything writen here personally. As for treading the line where?
I have argured logic, I have agrued oppinion, where have I made a personal comment? or anything aproaching, what was the term oh yeh "dito-monkeys"
Anything I have writen that was sarasctic I have stated it was sarastic or used the smilies so that it was not to be taken to serious. If you were to ask several of the others in the forum you'll find that to be the case. Fljostdale and I are diametericlly (SP?) opposed in almost all of our beliefs yet neither of us (to my best knowledge) have taken anything personal. Infact I seek out her threads because they are always thought provoking. Please don't assume that a bunch of 1's & 0's coming arcoss the phone line and exciting phosferous SP? atoms on my CRT are going to bother me.
As for the colapse of the U.S. where did I use the term liberal? I stated that the cause will be because of ecomonic reasons. Then I stated a personal oppinion as to why the colapse will be like "what has not been seen on the earth since Rome". I'm sorry if there was confusion as to that. I see from your profile that you are fairly new, I have been gone for several weeks working (seperating people from their money ), so I can understand if you misunderstood my post. Believe me I am fully capitable of using the English language, I may drop a comma, period, or letter here or there. Here is a link to an earlier post made before the time of trouble http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/No...ML/005287.html (Boy I sure hope I got the link thingy right)
If you will read my thread you'll see that I leave No doubt as to my thoughts. And I do it without any cussing, and if it calls for it I use it in the proper context.
I hope this helps you in reading any of my future posts. JDH
edited some of my typos I know I didn't get them all

I don't have a link to any of Gore's war stories, but if you recall during the race he used to talk about the horror of being in a firefight and seeing men killed in action when his post was too far away from the action to hear it, let alone see it. He also had his tour cut in half in order to return home to enter the seminary, which he never actually entered because he had a "change of heart" when he got back to the US.

If you want to delegitimize Rush as a news source you must also deligitimize Time, Newsweek, and every major newspaper in America because they lean farther to the left than Rush leans to the right.

A couple people keep mentioning that liberals "have faith in other people." I'm sorry but I have no faith in the scum that is doing nothing but living off the teat of the government. I can't have faith like that because people keep screwing things up and I am tired of cleaning up their messes. Look at California, a mess right now because the chief liberal over there and all his cohorts screwed it up and now they not only want help (which is ok) but they want to blame others (which is not ok) and take action that will only worsen the problem because those actions look good to people who don't consider the ramifications. That is the trademark of a liberal politician.

I read the news today, oh boy!

"Putin vows nuclear buildup against U.S. missile defense."

"Powell dismisses threat of renewed arms race."

Hello, why would Putin be kidding?

"Critics of the missile defense system argue that its deployment by the U.S. would touch off an arms race, with Russia and China taking steps to build up their arsenals to overwhelm the U.S. defense shield."

Putin said about the Missile Defense Plan and ending of the ABM Treaty,"This means that all countries, including Russia, will have the right to install multiple warheads carrying nuclear waepons on their missiles." He said that for Russia, installing multiple nuclear warheads on existing missiles "is the cheapest response."

George Gedda, The Associated Press

Way to go Bush!
