I was a bit worried that Donut may have missed this game. I know how much of a rugby fan he is! So I thought I would do the right thing and post the game summary here.
Wallabies strike back as Lions sleep tonight Australia have squared the series after a stirring second half comeback to defeat the Lions 35-14 in what is a record scoreline for the home side. Trailing 11-6 at the break, and lucky to be only six points in arrears, the Wallabies score 29 points to three in the second half with an inspiring backs to the wall performance. Two tries to winger Joe Roff and another to fullback Matt Burke cancelled out Lions flanker Neil Back's first half effort. Lions flyhalf Jonny Wilkinson had a night to forget - throwing the pass that Roff intercepted to score his first try in the opening minute of the second half, before being stretchered off with a serious knee injury in the dying moments. Apart from Wilkinson, three other Lions - Richard Hill, Robert Howley and Brian O'Driscoll - have gone to hospital suffering serious injuries with all four in doubt for the third Test at Stadium Australia on July 14. I hope that the injuries aren't serious. It would really make for a spectacle in Sydney if the Lions can put their best 15 on the paddock for Australia to roll over them. That way no excuses! I've got to go and watch England getting smashed in the Ashes now ![]() ![]() ------------------ ![]() |

I think the pubs will have opened now Memmie, so I imagine he is avoiding the computer, and drowning his sorrows with a few pints of Cider

Confidence is such a fickle thing. Once the Wallabies began to believe in themselves once again all the passes began to stick, the scrum was at least competitive and their cover defence and performance under pressure was awesome. And just think of players like Wendell Sailor or Mat Rogers joining this team (just in time to replace Roff who's going on a holiday from rugby).
U wouldn't happen to know where Donut is, would you? I was a bit curious as to how he evaluated John Eales's game. ![]() ------------------ ![]() |

Perhaps we should start a "Where's Donut" thread
![]() 1) Go home and log on and face the music 2) Go to pub and drink Cider Our Donut is a pretty clever dude judging from all those quiz answers he had right - so I think he will be taking option 2 ![]() ------------------ ![]() |

Yeah, I thought they were going to take the ball and run with it after that. I thought that their backs like O'Driscoll, Henderson, James and Robinson were going to carve Australia up for sure. They *were* leading at halftime, weren't they? Their defense was rock-solid. It certainly looked like they weren't going to let anyone through.
