OOC>>>Hey Skye, only 101 more posts, and you get this:
![]() What an incintive to remain active on the game, eh? ![]() For Lyulfe As you look about, you see Rong still not awake. She does not immediately respond to your attempts to awake her. You are sharing the huge nest with four very large eggs that are wiggling and active, yet not cracking yet. You see that you are on a cliff that the nest is taking up space on, and this cliff is nearly at the summit of the mountain, which is viewable from where you sit. It is nothing more than a jagged rocky peak. Down below, you only see clouds, and the rock face is sheer and barren of any handholds for any human to ever attempt. However, you are not human. You realize that you may be able to make it down if you are lucky and take great care, but you know that Rong Er would never survive the attempt. ================================================= For the Necklace Team The night passes without incident, and in the morning, everyone begins making preparations for the hike back to the South, where they will return to the One-Eyed Wolf Tavern and meet up with the Candle Team. Larry "Okay, I am packed. Let's just hope that the Mage does not decide to drop in on us." ================================================= The Shadow Mage The Mage had just come from his private study room where he had been reading a few new books that he had acquired long ago, yet had not taken the time to read them. Since nobody was storming into his tower to take over, no heroes close by to worry about, and no servants to keep under control except for those few that lived beneath the tower and Grey, the Mage now had found the time to improve his knowledge about his very being and the magic he possessed... which had been the very power to bring him to life. He had just put up the book called the Book of the Shadows, or "Mal'eb'dala". He had also been researching another book called "K'sai'eb'mal", or the Nature of Shadows. Both of these stories contained accounts of a Shadow Mage of ancient times, who rose in power to become a shadow king. It also told of how they fell. The Mage that had no other name to call himself smiled at his findings. He had been a normal person once, just like the man in the story, Verraketh and Caladin. He used to be called Larry but that name was taken from him when his human side was ripped away from the shadow. Now he was just "The Shadow Mage". Soon, after more research, he figured that he could aspire to become a Shadow King as well. The Power of a King was unstoppable. Well, except for one or two flaws, but that could be taken care of easily. The Mage turned his attentions now to the events of yesterday, when his old enemy, the so-called "Reaper" had averted his magical attack. The Mage could find no reason in any of his books to describe how this had been possible. Perhaps this Reaper was to be respected for his power, and not taken for granted. The Mage would have to test him some more. And then there was Larry Silverfall...running around trying obtain the items he needed to summon a special doorway to bring back his love. He had already gotten the necklace. Now he would be trying to gain the candle, but only Larry knew where it was. Larry's mind had been string enough to keep this location secret to the Shadow all this time, and the Mage had no way now of knowing where Larry would lead his group next. He'd have to follow him, keep an eye on him. He still had one card left to play in his favor, but now was not the time to reveal that rook. Soon, however...soon it would be. |

ooc- Yay, another dragon! Not that I'm complaining, I love dragons. ^^ especially after having this... thing... for so many hundred posts... o.o;
ic- Lyulfe Lyulfe eyed the wriggling eggs with a wary eye. "We definitely do not want to be around when those buggers hatch." The elf scanned the sky and surrounding area for the parents, but could see none in the vicinity with his sharp elven eye-sight. He directed his attention back to possible escape routes. "If I climb down, I'll have to leave Rong behind," he said aloud in dismay. Contemplating it for a few moments longer, he came to a conclusion. Nodding grimly to himself, he took one last look around the nest to see if there was anything that either of them would want, before they departed from their high perch. He continued to keep an eye out for any return visits from a parent. ooc- anything worth looting? any adults in sight? EDIT- also, pmed you about something... Andron Wilgor
His companions attempts at finding out how deep the chasm was seemed to work, but something strange could be felt about it. Despite the two sounds indicating that the depth wasn't too big, Andrion could not see the bottom. He decided on casting a spell to light up the depths of the chasm and cast it. OOC: pm Larry |

For Lyulfe:
You see no sign of the parent(s) of these eggs. They must seem pretty comfortable with you not going anywhere. Inside the nest, you see the remains of somebody. Only a couple odd bones and a patch of some cloth are all that remains. Under the tattered cloth, you find a simple golden ring with an emerald jewel that has the name "Melado" sketched on the under-side of it. ================================================= For Candle Team The darkness spell is disrupted as the light spell is cast upon it. Down below, a creature screams in pain, and you hear it run from where it had been standing. |

"Hmm, sounds like we had someone waiting for us, let me try something, Andrion, can you create an illusion of yourself climbing down the rope?" [ 06-02-2004, 10:24 AM: Message edited by: Morgeruat ] |

Andrion Wilgor
Andrion first looked over the edge of the chasm to see whether he could see what the creature is before replying to Roderik. While peering over the edge he answers Roderik: "I can create an illusion of myself, but I do not know how good it would be at climbing down the rope. It could happen that it would just fall down the chasm." OOC: Andrion is going to wait to see whether he can spot the creature before making the illusion. |

"hmm, that would work just as well, if you can make the image I can make the sounds to convince the beast it's real, perhaps if we know what we're dealing with we'll know to avoid it, or to strike." [ 06-02-2004, 02:04 PM: Message edited by: Morgeruat ] |

"I am trying to determine what the beast is. I am hoping it is going to move again before the light spell expires. If I cannot spot it then we shall try using the illusion." |

Candle Team:
The light spell was about to expire and this whole time, you saw no sign of the creature. You assume that the light must really hurt its vision and so it is possible that the creature has fled to a darker location. OOC>>>What are ya going to do now? I don't have to give any clues, do I? |

"We need to find out what that creature is before deciding on how or whether to take it on. I shall create the illusion and you Roderik, make the sounds." Andrion proceeded in creating a shimmering illusion of himself and with his will controlled it, telling it to try to climb down the rope, although he did not know how skilled the illusion was going to be in this aspect.
