Alae waited patiently for the translation, then she frowned and glanced at Alaerth. It was true kreen thrived on being with their pack, even if it wasn't their own species, apparently. Alaerth looked indecisive, so Alae put her questioning look to Alliene, who signed to her, [i]Let her join with us. The more help you have the better.

Alae smiled and nodded and addressed the kreen, "Xvim, if you wish to join our..pack, then you may. Let me warn you that it is a dangerous journey we are on, and you might be killed."

Arlyth would not open his mouth to protest, but his shoulder stiffened, and Alae could feel his entire body tense up, and his aura was one of stalk anger. He was not happy; not in the slighest. His knuckles had turned white around the hilt of his sword, and his eyes flashed dangerously. It was clear what he was thinking; and Alae could almost *feel* him utter the words 'The Kreen will betray us... this is a mistake' silently in his mind. It would make Alae recoil somewhat; since she did not know Arlyth could use limited telepathy.

Gus quickly rolled up the patchment and pocketed it.

Gus grew tired of standing around... His senses were starting to pick up on something... something large... shifting the air around violently... the air was vibrating ever so slightly... like the way a dragon's roar would if miles away... Or perhaps even... an explosion... Something huge... but too far away for normal ears to hear... Gus turned in the direction and inadvertainly Cast a wormhole while saying "I'll be back... This portal will remain open until I step back through. I'll be back... I just heard something..." He then vanished through the portal.

Appearing on the other side of the wormhole, Gus saw he was still in the forest... it was quiet...

The silence was quickly broken as Gus heard someone yell and looked up to see a figure falling through the sky. "Aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!" was all that was heard as Gus watched the figure fall and land in a large bush. "Woah.... Now that was a doozy.." said the figure as he stood up and dusted himself off. "May need a new cabin now... Darn." He looked up and saw Gus standing near him. "WOAH! A genasi!" he said backing away quickly and he pulled out what looked like a cocktail. He stuffed a rag inside and lit it and hurled it at he genasi. "That was for my dear friend Jaram!! Burn acursed genasi burn!"

Gus quickly swung his arm before the exploding blossom of fire heading toward him, it was instantly put out.

"How would you know about genasai?" He quickly returned, looking directly into the little gnome's eyes.

"You have no need to know, I do not want to relive the event again...But I need to get it off my chest. Me and a friend had been drinking heavily, but not enough to intoxicate us yet. My friend Jaram spilt alot on him, and his clothes were very wet with alchohol. We were working on a potion I was making, and we needed a summon element spell for it, but it went wrong... he opened a portal to the plane of fire, and a fire genasi came out, he was angry, very angry. And attacked. He caught Jaram on fire who burned to death, I defeated it with a potion of ice breath." Said Ivan looked rather sad now. He stared at the ground for a bit and looked back up. "Oh... and my sincerest appologies for attacking you! I'm truly, truly sorry, please forgive me, how can I make it up to you?" said Ivan as he took a low bow.

"Well, I am very sorry to hear about what happened to your freind, but you have little to worry from me. You see I'm not surrounded by a twenty foot wall of flame like the fire genasai that killed your brother." Gus motioned for him to stand upright. "And don't worry about the attack on me... It hasnt been the first time I've had an explosive device chugged at me. Gus then changed his expression almost violently... becoming severley serious... "I don't want to sound like the kind of a recruitment type... but we've got a problem. I've joined up with a party of elves and some other beings, who are going to group together and combat a great evil that is about to descend down on this world. We've even joined a Thir-keen to our number we are so desperate for man power. I'm not sure what this evil is, but I'm sure we could use a chemist like yourself. I'm not forcing you to join us, but it would be in the best interests of this entire world for us to join together to fight this terrible power... so if you want to come with me, just gather up what you need, and step through this portal... if you trust me... He smiked, totally breaking the seriousness. It wasn't a sly or sneaky smirk but a warming welcoming sort of expression. Gus could already tell this fellow was fairly intelectual and somewhat facinated with the sciences, just as he was... and who better to have as a colleage than a fellow eccentric science-lover...

Ivan smiled back warmly. "Of course, anything for the good of the world. I'll go get my stuff." he said as he looked back to where his cabin would have been which was replaced by a crater. "Done..." said Ivan as he held onto a large oak staff three times his height. At the tip was an emerald fused with a ruby. "So, when are we leaving to meet this party you've join?"

"I guess I'm going to sort of have to ask for a leap of faigth if you're nervouse... but you're going to have to cross through the portal first... it closes when i cross through it... There will be about a 5 second delay before I show up, just dont try that cocktail trick of any of the people you meet on the other side ok?" Gus said with a smile.
