'They look scared Skye, you should comfort them, me and Damion'll be alright.'

Kaltia made a half-hearted effort to catch calaethis before he vanished, but he was long-gone by the time she had the idea of activating infra-vision. "Damn. I swear, Dar, I never meant to drive him away..." Slowly, she turned to Alliene, fearful of the older half-drow's actions.

Skye tried to give Khalraan an reassuring smile, but resulted with a halfhearted one. "I'm unsure... it is hard to tell if he will be alright." After making sure that Khalraan and Damion would in fact be alright, she walked closer to Sylquis and Tyra. "Are you two going to be okay?" she asked them, concerned.

In the din of Calaethis's rage, Avalon had shifted to his true form and stood protectivley behind Verloren, wings stretched, and Zachana had gone into a crouch next to Alliene. Both the sister's swords were out, Verloren's eyes a blazing red wrath, and a deadly snarl had curled onto Alliene's lips, her skin darkened to black in her anger. So, her cousin would simply abandon his friends and family, and go as far as to insult her intelligence? Taking deep breaths in unsuccessful attempts to calm herself, she sheathed her swords and instead pulled her mother's flail from behind her back, touching each of the enchanted heads in consternation. Her cutting eyes singled out Kaltia, and her eyes narrowed, not in anger, but confusion. This was how he thanked her sister for ressurecting the woman he had so much feeling for? She should have never made the blasted sword for him! Straightening, she walked over to Kaltia and put a hand on her shoulder,
"It was not your fault, Kaltia. I am unsure why he is so...angry," this was not a woman she liked having to look up at. Her thumb was stroking the hilt of the flail in her hand, "You certainly did not deserve this, but his actions will not go unpunished. Matrons of First Houses don't let their relatives get away with tantrums that endanger everyone else," Alliene removed her hand from Kaltia's shoulder, a large shield that had been her mother's as well materializing onto her arm, and she stalked into the woods were Calaethis had fled.

Gulping slightly, Verloren touched Avalon's claw and the dragon relaxed, folding his wings neatly on his back. She put Isan and Isak carefuly away, though one hand still gripped Isak's hilt. She approached Kaltia and gave a small bow, "Greetings, I am Queen Verloren Esgaroth Dragonflame of Defari, blademaster and cleric. I was the one who resurrected you, at this great Silver's behest," she gave her best smile to Darlantan, "This is Avalon, an Ancient who has been my...companion for many years," she winked and frost trickled out of Avalon's nostrils, "This great steed here is Wind Shadow, my war horse," the stallion perked its ears and tapped a hoof in recognition. Shaking her head, Verloren sighed, "I am afraid things have been edgy lately. Alliene's mother died in the battle for the First House, and their victory made Alliene Matron Streea. The whole event has turned her...cold, and almost void of emotion. She forged that sword Calaethis was yelling at, and likely she'll give him some sort of thrashing for the amount of embarassment and shame he has caused her," she grimaced, "I suppose we can only wait until Alliene returns," her eyes, now their normal soft brown, looked over at the huddling elven sisters. Verloren gave them a reasurring smile, "Do not worry girls, I am sure your lord will return soon."
Zachana snorted steams of acid and shifted to her human form garbed in her best coat and breeches, and spared a wink at Shadow before standing in front of Darlantan and bowing deeply, "Greetings, great one, I am Kaishin'azunwith, freind and familiar to Matron Alliene. I assure you, I am not like the blacks of the swamps...I was raised by copper dragons," she admitted grudgingly, "But if you need anything of me, or would like to know anything of my lady, please do not hesitate to ask," she smiled and backed to Shadow with a sigh.

~Meanwhile...
Alliene held the shield in front of her as she traced her cousin's path easily. She did not hold her grudge against the Kaltia woman anymore. Losing her mother had shown her just how things could happen for the worst. The heads of her mother's flail swayed as she padded silently through the forest, her skin deadened black as any full drow in a rage equal to her cousin's, her lips pulled into a practiced snarl, the Matron followed Calaethis's path.

ooc- the shield she has is the one most of the women use in the underdark...you know the one that Hand Maidens had in BG2? With the 3 points on the top? Thats what it looks like.

Aeris was still slightly shocked by Cal's outburst stood firmly against a tree. When Cal was outbursting he had the thought of knocking some sense into him physicly , but decided not to. He wondered if Calaethis would be alright..

Thanks to you, too, Dar." the half-drow thoughtfully ran her hand through her hair, ignoring her tiger which had started whinging about Calaethis storming off. "It is somewhat surprising Alliene has forgiven me. I represent everything she hates. Oh well, I'm not about to start complaining!"

Calaethis still in the shadows dissapeared deeper into the forest. He found a glade, with a small pool. Calmly, he looked around. He nodded to himself, this was big enough, perfect in fact. He walked over to the pool, and sat down on a nearby rock. His sword across his lap, he waited for his cousin...

A moment later a white light filled the glade, and an aura of peace and calm settled there. Calaethis's emotions disapaited, and he glanced around fearfully. A figured bathed in white appeared. It was female, an elf. Mere seconds pasted, and the figure became solid. Her features were beautiful and perfect, save for a frown which marred them. She stood taller then Calaethis, and her eyes were vexed. Calaethis jumped to his feet, trembling. The female gave him a long hard stare, then spoke in a gentle voice. "Calaethis, my child; I am most displeased with your recent behaviour" Calaethis dropped to his knees, his eyes filling with tears. The voice continued, he heard it in his mind, as well as aloud. "Enough. You need not grovel before Me, as you well know. I will not harm you." with a gentle touch, she gripped his arms, and lifted him to his feet. Looking down at him, her eyes were fond, but irked. Then she slapped him across the face. "Thats for being so disrespectful to the silver, and to your cousin." then she embraced him, his cheek still stinging. Trembling he layed his head upon her breast, and she kissed his hair, whispering softly "I know how hard these last few days have been for you - and I know your doubt my child, but your behaviour is inexcusable. You even forced Me to intervine, I know you would have fought your cousin to the death, you silly boy! Whatever were you thinking?!" Calaethis had the grace to look sheepish, and shook his head, in a soft tone he replied, "Mother... please... I'm sorry, forgive me? It won't happen again" The goddess looked sternly at him, "It had better not my child." She turned around and spotted Alliene making her way though the trees. "Chosen of Shar! Hold. I would speak with you before you reclaim your cousin! This one belongs to me, and I have dealt with the issue at hand. I assure you it will not happen again. I have already spoken with him, and discplined him suitably. There is no need to punish him further. You may have him back now." She embraced Calaethis one last time, and dissapeared. Calaethis stared at his cousin, void of emotion.

Alliene drew up short, narrowing her eyes at the dissipating goddess, then hefted her mother's flail and pulled the shield close, her silver eyes moving from the remaining shimmer of the goddess to Calaethis. The perpetual snarl dissapeared as she thinned her lips to a rigid line. Exhaling through her nose, she stood up straight and let the shield dissapear while she slung the flail into its spot on her back. Black skin paled and receeded into the brilliant sky blue of her sea elf half. She winced uncounsciously at the sudden burning sun and her skin darkened to its normal midnight blue. Her left hand strayed and stroked the diamond pommel of Nizzre before she shook her head and turned away, walking quickly back towards the others, leaving her obvious dissapointment in Calaethis's actions hanging in the air.

Calaethis sighed and turned around to stare back into the pool. His cheek began to sting again, and in his mind, he heard Her voice, << Calaethis, My child, do not presume too far. Do as your told and follow! I am already vexed with you! Do you wish to make Me angry with you as well My child? >> the voice paused, << I have decided child, if I feel you are behaving too sullenly or badly, your cheek, where I struck you shall sting. You will learn obeidence. I will not be defied My child, not even by you >> Calaethis thought back a quick appology, << Mother, please! I won't defy You! >> << Very well My child, but I won't tolerate any more naughtiness out of you. The next time, if I am forced to interviene, I'll... >> She could feel Calaethis's fear, and Her voice took on an amused tone to it, << spank you Myself. Now run along. >> Having been dismissed, no longer feeling her presence in his mind, Calaethis sprinted after his cousin... he looked at her and spoke softly, "Alliene, I'm sorry" his words simple, he said no more...
