Yeah Ferji These two nights had been quite out of place indeed. First you were thrown out for hundreds of miles, and then you met some interestingly disturbing people including a not so friendly orc. (Of course, this wasn't the first one you bashed since your old days) And lets not say how you got tricked by a dim-wittery orc brained (literally), well, orc. And what’s worse, none of you suspected anything in the first place. ( ) You were standing outside what seemed like a meeting place for the orcs. The square outside of the big tent was clean of plants, and a bonfire lighted the place. You heard shouts and noises down the direction where your other friends were led to. However, the commotion soon died down. You tried to break the ropes that tied you, (the orcs did a fine job indeed!), only to provoke some angry barking from your captors. Sometime later, the curtain of the tent lifted, and you heard the familiar and strangely soft voice, "Is he here?" A tall and muscular figure, which you recognized to be Ragnar, stepped out, with his boots making metallic ringings. He just plainly looked at you. It was the first time you've seen his face. The most remarkable was his thick black beard that covered his jaws and chins. The beard stood out in all directions, but seemed to be well furnished. You remembered an old dwarven saying, 'If ye want' know how a dwarf lived for his life, look no further, cause' ye only need t' see his beard.' Also, he had not the usual pair of sharp teeth that sticking out of most of the orcs' jaws, just a yellow skinned and hardened face. A contorted white scar, which looked like burns, covered the left side of his forehead and looked horribly obvious against his yellow skin. The plate mail he wore was old and scarred. His right shoulder piece actually resembled a dragon's claw, and was black and adamantine. "So," he began, and his voice surprisingly sweet, "You were saying to kill me earlier?" Skye The tent you were in was smelly to say the least. In the darkness, Sennid sat quietly alone and was seeming totally unbothered by this all. Robin lay face down on the floor and had not yet moved. You waited till the orcs left, and a little longer. Your sat by Robin's quiet torso and your heat sensing eyes spotted several small prowling forms in the tent. OOC: Robin, you can slowly wake up. Howvever your hands were all tied behind your back. OOC- i sense that everyone falling for the orc was somehow indirectly my character's fault.. -.-; she's too nice for her own good.. *sigh* and, um, how come Skye's in the same place as the others? the orc "leader" said he wanted her and the halfling, and the others to be sold. so wouldnt that put me somewhere else..? *decides just to wait it out* ^^;
And let this be a lesson to all those who listen to a half-elf, female bladebard!!! Skye ![]() Skye wasn't sure what the other figures were, so she decided not to chance calling out, at least not until the other members of her party were all conscious and... sane. (*insert indiscrete glance at the rogue here* ) She slumped with her back again Robin and sighed. She'd been in tighter spots before, but this was still quite aways up her trouble list. 'Almost makes me miss Lyulfe,' she mused silently, as she checked her wrists. They were tied, but not uncomfortably tight, which surprised her a little. 'Of course, there's no point in escaping at the moment,' she thought dully, thinking of all the orcs that had been there. Even though she was a little irate at the halfling at the moment, she hoped he was ok and would be able to escape, even if they didn't. 'Almost a pity Robin took down that orc that tried to rough me up,' she thought with a smirk. 'If he hadn't, that orc would have found a foot accidentally imprinted onto his face.' She couldnt help chuckling a little bit to herself at the image in her head. She could sense Robin start stirring with a faint groan and she whispered, "Oy, you alright there? Sorry you got hurt because of me back there... make sure to never listen to my ideas ever again, ok? It'll keep you all out of alot of trouble next time." OOC- 250, is Elith coming back? wasn't "he" being played by someone? or is that person not coming back.. ^^;; *confused* this ruins my horribly devious plan.. *sniffle* ![]() |

OOC:
mmm, the answers will come out, that includes Elith. As for you feel guilty getting the party into trouble, don't. To be honest with you, I've never thought you guys'd fall for that. I really have to level up that orc for such an accomplishment. ![]() Skye You heard a few squeaky noise somewhere in the darkness, and some barely audible words "... must ... .... fire, yeow, ... ... burns, tehehe..." OOC: Dice rolled and sent
![]() IC: Ferji Being fully tied and helpless, the best course of action seemed apologising and taking back his words. But Ferji didn't feel like doing that, he meant what he'd said. Instead, he decided on the truth. In the worst case, making it personal and occupying Ragnar would buy his friends more time to make an escape... or something. "You're bigger and taller than I am, and you may be stronger than me too. I know the smell is. That doesn't mean you can do aything you like and expect to get away with it. Selling people into slavery is wrong, because slavery is wrong and people aren't property. I think your death would help keep others safe, so yes, I'll kill you if I get a chance. I haven't vowed to slay you yet, so you've still got a chance to let everyone go and live." The halfling tried to appear threatening despite the position he was in. He also attempted to recall how Littleman dealt with such situations, but he didn't do a very good job at either. |

Ferji
The orc leader first chuckled lightly, then it grew into a laughter. However it was not the rough, sickish voice of an orc. "Free him," he said as he stopped laughing, and a squire went behind you and untied your ropes. You relaxed your bruised wrist, all the while hoping the orc leader decided redemption was better than risking your wrath. "And give back his weapon." he added, and your sword and belt were tossed at your feet. "Ferji, am I correct? My soldier used trickery on you and your friends, and for his action I apologize. So here is your chance, fight me and you can leave if you win." He motioned to the sqaure around the bonfire and asked quietly, "What is your God's name, Ferji? I want to know who I send a faithful to pay homage to." OOC: btw, just a side information, as a general knowledge for players. Slave trading is legal around the Zhentil Keep, and there are specific laws concerning this business. but of course, the zhentarim merchant dominate the trade. Ferji
The little halfling ignored the weapon that was tossed at his feet. "My life won't mean a thing if I walk out of here, leaving my friends to a life of slavery," he said. Thinking on the treachery of Grumm, he added, "And after you die, not even your word would guarantee I'm free to go, would it? Let's change the rules, me and another of my party against two of your orcs, and you can choose which ones. If we win, we all go free and you'll get to live." Ferji glanced down at the sword before returning his gaze to the leader. |

"You will not doubt my word, halfling." the orc leader stated coldly.
"Or do you think I do this out of amusement?" he sounded quite annoyed, "A wise man once told me, at the end, no God but man rules his own fate. So I will give you two choices, fight and you, or one of your friends, might go free. Or refuse and be sold into slavery. That is all you deserve from me, halfling." "I don't doubt your word, but after your death you won't be around to ensure it's executed." Ferji stooped to pick up his sword, but halted before he reached it. "Why do you say I deserve something from you?," he questioned. [ 10-24-2002, 09:56 AM: Message edited by: Legolas ] |

"Why?" the orc leader echoed quietly, "because that is what we die for, isn't it?" The combatants stepped into the square, and a bright bonfire burnt between you. A chillful wind swept cross, and the flame leaped to catch it. Many small burning particles were sent swirling in the air and flew away, then finally dissipated into the darkness. The only sounds were the moanful winds and the occasional explosives coming from the coals. Fire shun on both combatants' faces. Ragnar's pair of brawn eyes reflected a strange red from the fire. He stood silently, with his both hands resting on the hilt of an ordinary looking long sword. The sword tipped down in the dirt. His frame, towering nearly seven feet, seemed like a giant. Quite unexpectedly, you heard a cold scold. It was a quiet one, but a scold nonetheless. The pair of brawn orbs locked to one direction for just a brief second. Without moving, your eyes followed his gaze, and you saw another form outside of the square, watching you two intently. This one seemed to be even bigger than Ragnar, and was heavily cloaked, thus you could not make out anything. "Come, halfling" Ragnar's strangely soft voice brought your attention back, and he tightened his grips on the hilt, "show me." OOC: Legolas, tell me any basic strategies or tricks you plan to use... and no darting between the legs, lol, well, dont use it as your main strategy.
