Yup. Brilliant movie. "Heil Smoochy" is one scene I won't forget for some time to come. Hillarious!

[/QUOTE]FINALLY I know something! It's from The Producers!

We tried to do a version of that in high school, but it got nixed because of the Nazis, so we did Woody Allen's God instead. I *heart* Zero Mostel, and Gene Wilder too!

Speaking of Gene Wilder,

Bing bing bing! And Pirengle gets the nod.

As for The Producers being rejected for its Nazi sentiments, I am torn between "Don't these people have a flippin' clue what the show it about?" and "Yep, figures." School boards across the country now seem to be getting it into their heads that nothing on stage can be presented in a negative light. They banned West Side Story because they said it promoted racism. Get a friggin' clue, folks.

The Producers - top film.

Dunno if anyone's aware of this, but an American film producer in the 1960's bought the US rights to the Japanese-made 'I Bombed Pearl Harbour', a film showing events from the kamikaze point of view. Why? Because said american producer needed to lose money for tax reasons.

Art imitiates life.

EDIT: I hate unthinking censorship. 'West Side Story', gah. "It has *ahem* white people and *ahem* coloured people fighting, ergo it promotes racism." Give any theatre producer, or any student of ethics, fifeen minutes in the debating chamber and he/she'd have that overturned, but nooo, then you're 'politically incorrect'...
