Jena nodded. She was not going to try and stop him from what he felt needed to be done: it was not her place. She remained silent, and simply stepped out of his way.

Sighing, she shook her head, turned, and ran to catch up with Faironi.

Drusalia

Aeriah, Faironi and Jena had left even though Dru had been walking towards them. She saw them leave the clearing and walking among some dead bodies, she followed them. It was a few miles after the clearing that she caught up with Fair and Jena.

"What had happened back there at the clearing? I saw dead bodies."

Fairioni looks at her as she continues walking "I think.. there was an ambush for Galein and Jena."

Fai and Jena are at the exit to the valley, Galein having disappeared through it a few seconds before in search of those who attacked the latter.

Dru and Verrion catch up to Fai just as the two gals - er - women, leave the valley. There is a Y-forked junction(?) and the trail splits into two paths. One leads obviously up towards the caves, and the other leads into the mountains. There are a couple of small twigs laid out in an "x" shape for the path that leads into the mountains, with an "->" sign, again made from twigs - set out for the cave network. It has the hallmarks of Galein's craftwork, but that said, it could easily be a trap. There does not appear to be any danger surrounding it, however, and it was the party's choice what to do next. Either way, it would be a fair walk as opposed to a steep climb. Both pathes were winding and they could not see around the corners ahead of them.

Fairiioni looks and picks the path that Galein had selected, brining her staff up to the her, preapring to light it up.

"I guess we should take the path that's indicated... " Fairioni sighs

Jena nodded in agreement with Faironi. "I agree with you. At this point, it looks like the right direction. That direction looks easier also." Jena sighed and twisted briefy to the side to stretch out her sides, neck, and upper back which were beginning to cramp.

Drusalia 22/22

She looked at Fai and Jena.

"I'm with you two."

As the party proceeded up the winding path towards the mountain caves, they reached a twist in the road where two hills rose up and formed a vale.

From either side, a barrage of spells flew and hit the party and everything went black. For Fai and Jena, they discovered themselves held firm and then, felt two pricks as darts hit them. Then their world went black too.

~~~
Ten Minutes Earlier…
“Lord Galein!”
“General Galein!”
Five black clad figures bowed to him as he approached. Two dead humans lay upon the ground, the same two that had fled. They were elves…
“Master, we have come to serve you.”
“I see. So Alrendai finally sends her favourite guard to serve me?”
“Yes lord!”
“Very well… prepare for the strike.”
“The Executioner’s Eyes obey, Master.”
“Take them.” Galein nodded in the direction of the party.
“Yes Master.”
~~~

The End
