The sprite looked suspicious,
"Pet me? Welllll, I guess so." Lite hopped from the sword and sat in his free hand. She saw the tears rolling down his face, and bit her lip, "Don't cry, Calaethis." She fluttered up to wipe away the tears that were larger than her hands.

"Sorry..." Calaethis whispered, and his tears stopped. Cal gently opened the palm of his hand; and lay Tagnik down on the ground beside him; cupping both hands, he gently caught the sprite in them; still open so she could fly away. With a thumb, he stroked Lite softly; trying not to touch her wings. "Thank you..." the elf whispered, then sighed deeply, changing the subject; "So... do you live here? Ever considered leaving?"

"Hmmm," The fae sighed happily against his thumb, "I do live here, but I am by myself." She cocked her head at him, "Why would I want to leave? It is nice here."

Cal shrugged "To see the world? Or do you want to stay here all your life? You'd miss out on so much beauty this world has to offer; don't you want to experience it? To have memories to treasure when you return home? To be able to tell your children about the palces you've been to? You've seen?" The elf sighed deeply..

Her little eyes narrowed,
"There be things out there that are dangerous. Would kill a little sprite like me without second thought!" she threw her arms out for emphasis, "Plus, I never plan on having childeren. They be annoying." She crossed her arms as if that settled it.

Cal shook his head and sighed, "What if I told you there was a way for you to become the same size as me whenever you liked? Would you come then? I like you; and I'd like some company... other then the others..." the young elf sighed. "You don't have to come... it was just an offer... I thought it might be nice for you to take a vacation away from here..." Calaethis, still sat down, and buried his head in his arms.

"There are bonuses to being small," the sprite said as she sat on top of his head and played with his hair, "But then I guess there would be bonuses to being big too. You have a spell that would do this?"

Cal looked uncomfortable... "The one who has the spell is my cousin... and recently we had an arugement and now she hates me." Calaethis sighed, and finished, "But allright..." then still with the sprite in his hands, he walked after Alliene and Skye... knowing full well Alliene wouldn't be amused.
