ic:Khalraan didn't realise he was siding around Cal, still staring at him, until he bumped into the half-drow. Startled, he asked her,
'Are you dead?' then, 'I think something's wrong with Calaethis, I havn't known him that long, but he hasn't been angry before' As he realised that the half-drow knew Cal. |

OOC, damnation and hell. Lost the bloody post - have to start over - so if this is lacking in quality, thats why - four paragraphs gone, FOUR! Bah, what did I say...?
Oh yeah, something about some confusion over Cal's sword (thanks to LHELs) Calaethis has latent psionic powers - which he doesnt really know about - magic flows though his viens, just like it flows Alliene... but he chose the blade and psychical figthing over magic, he doesn't know he has; but as a ranger he also uses healing magic - Tagnik'zurjess - the sword is the part of him, that CAN use magic - if you like - its a shade, echo or mirror of what Calaethis COULD have become had he chosen magic; When Calaethis melded his mind, his essence, and his soul to it - he gave a part of himself away, fusing the metal with himself; it is linked to him, and IS him in a way, but at the same time, it is it's own - it has its own personality - it's almost like an additional limb to Calaethis - he'd be worst off without it. With a startled oath, Calaethis rolled around with the animal, and tired to keep from hitting it with Tagnik, however, the sword itself avoided slashing the animal... Calaethis touched the animals head with his left hand, and spoke to it using animal empathy "Enough; Callistia, I will play with you later little forest sister. Calaethis rose to his feet, his anger cooled. He calmly faced the ancient wyrm. "Well Ancient One, will you tell me what I wish to know?" His eyes were still cold, burning with emerald fire, but his aura had subsided for now. "Which of the drow dared to harm her?" Sheverash whimpered and nussled Kaltia. Syqluis glanced over at Calaethis in fear, he didn't seem to be crazy, he seemed... she didn't now, she'd never seen anyone this angry, and at the same time icy calm. She was scared, and fearfully clung to her sister, who in turn, just watched her master with wide eyes, not daring to speak. |

"You assume much, little elf. I do not know which of the drow it was, only that they sought both she and I for one named Natha. Now, their attention seems to have shifted to that one," he made a gesture with a hand to Alliene, "for she is powerful. The drow admire power."

Calaethis eyes bored into the Wyrm's. His voice was soft, and quiet, only the wrym and Alliene could hear "What I assume... does not concern you" he snarled, his arrogence showing to the full, "Wyrm you may be, ancient, you may be, but you dare to pressume that because of my age, I am weak? For all your vaunted power, you are nothing, unable to save her! You sicken me. I, who the blood of elves running though my viens, and that of your kind." he sneered, "thats right Wrym, you and I are kin, though blood. Did you think that my family rose to power though chance? No fool, My ancestors, a few of them at least, were your kind, and although, I have no dragonic features, I still possess some of your kin's traits. Magic that runs though my viens; and power. Not as much as a true dragon, but more then most elves! My eyes; did you not see? Did you think that I was just another elf?! I pressume?! You presume to far! Natha is dead by my hand! he paused and stared at his cousin, giving her a long level look. "Did you think I didn't know cousin? Their blood may have thinned, but I still have a few of their traits." "Enough Calaethis! You go too far!" Tagnik'zurjess snapped at him, this time aloud, so all could hear.

Darlantan shifted back to his natural form, spreading his wings. A head larger than a cart-horse lowered to Calaethis' level, his jaws parting. A cool waft of icy-steam bathed the elf, silver orbs narrowed in fury. Darlantan never got mad. that was why he had survived this long. Instead, he got angry. The spiky name glistened as the dragon began to growl, a rumbling sound that shook the very ground. A cold flame danced in his eyes, and he whipped his head back, taking a deep breath. Rumbling noises began in his stomuch as the air became ice, and he swung his head in line with the foolish, arrogant, elf. "DARLANTAN! DON'T YOU *DARE*!" Kaltia screamed. Forcing his head away from the elf, Darlantan let his icey breath billow to the side, engulfing a fair bit of the forest. "Calaethis, STOP IT! STOP SQUARING UP TO EACH OTHER!" Kaltia snapped, hands going to her hips, as ashamed of them as they were angry with each other.

Calaethis snarled, his eyes twistling, and burning with a misty emerald fire, as he was maturing psychically, and using magic to awaken Tagnik, so had he awaked dorment abilities in himself. He raised his sword, and a fireyshieled engulfed him, an aura of fire surrounding him, burning a yellowy-orangy-red, the sword's twin dragons burning golden, the ruby eyes of Sssiks vress'lve burning as brightly as it's master's; the sword spoke softly, "Enough of this, both of you. You are both behaving like children; your half-drow is alive Calaethis, and as for you, brother" the sword said addressing the great wyrm, "You should be more tolerant with children that don't know any better - hush Calaethis" the sword spoke cutting him off, "Both of you should concentrate on the enemy, and not on destroying each other - Great one, although it pains me to say it, Calaethis may not be a match for you, yet - but he is powerful enough to inflict mortal injury upon you, and if not that, then grieviously wound you..." The sword paused, and looked at Alliene, and said in a tone of amusement, "Quite a lively cousin you have here. He obviously cares deeply about this one - to have awaked his dragonic heritage... it is not often that an elf will awaken dorment abilities within himself or herself." the sword paused, "Calaethis, you've scared your two charges." Calaethis looked over at Sylquis, how had buried her head in her sisters arms and was weeping softly. Tyra was comforting her half-heartedly. "I am no monster" Calaethis snapped back. "Perhaps not, but you are in danger of becoming one." Tagnik'zurjess used Calaethis's own feelings and thoughts, and being him in a way, managed to calm the infurated elf. "I appologise Anicent One" he muttered. "I overreacted." Calaethis spoke with a droll understatement.

Darlantan snarled in disgust, shifting to elf form. He stalked past Calaethis, towards Kaltia. The tigeress, crouched, jaws parting slightly. "Can we play NOW, pleeeease?>" she asked Calaethis.
Darlantan dipped his head towards Kaltia, whispering softly, "It seems I must apologise for my actions, my lady." With a giggle Kaltia shook her head. "Nuh-uh. calaethis was in the wrong,a nd though I do appreciate what he feels for me, he doesn't need to be so damn protective." [ 02-02-2003, 10:34 AM: Message edited by: Kaltia ]

Calaethis whirled around to face Kaltia, his eyes blazing. After a long look into her eyes, he simply bowed his head and nodded. Then became one with the shadows and dissapeared.

"Good ridance." Darlantan growled, having watched to arrogant two-legs leave. He turned his attention back to the other, in his mind, more important two-legs to see her staring after the elf, tears trickling down her cheek.

Skye stared after Cal, a bit perturbed. She wasn't sure she liked this new person that was full of hate and bitterness. She took Khalraan's and Damion's hands, ushering them back to stand with Sylquis and Tyra. "Hush Khalraan, now is not a good time for questions, I think. All will be reveiled later..." She looked again where Cal had disappeared into the shadows, her eyes narrowing. Turning, Skye gave the two boys and the two "slaves" reassuring smiles, sensing their slight fear.
