![]() Things seem to be progressing quite smoothly for your party. I'm very tempted to download Tsujatha now... |

The reason he's proving such an asset is that he's a cool 3-4 levels ahead of the rest of the party last time I looked. He's probably overpowered, but as a party I'm still finding tactics difficult because I'm carrying a lot of dead weight for the sake of character development (like Keto) and lack any tank apart from Saerileth. Kelsey is still building up a decent spell selection whilst Jan probably punches under his weight too.
The fight in the throne room was very tough and I even had to resort to power word:reload a couple of times as Tsujatha got chunked, but certainly enjoying the game. Damn those spirit trolls! I may post levels and character sheets if there's an interest soon.I've actually played on a fair bit more than has been posted but got caught up in some very interesting Saerileth plot. You can also blame my discovery of Eve Online for the delay too! As a side note, did anyone else get the dog trick to work on the Umber Hulks? Ah, the Tsujatha level question. Yes, he is level 13 when you pick him. He is *always* level 13 when you pick him up, regardless of party level. He's a very powerful character, I think, though he rates below Kelsey on Imrahil's power scale. Kelsey is a sorceror, and Tsujatha is a specialist mage. It's a matter of taste, I find.
I'm glad to see that you are having fun with the Saerileth plot, and I am really looking forward to the next installment!! Sillara

With the dogs, you have to put all 4 in the kitche stove to make "Dog Stew"
*That* will draw the Umber Hulks away... Good Hunting! |

Hello all. I think the last time I was logged on ironworks, this story had just begun. I must say I'm very impressed, and have spent some time today reading & catching up. Nice work, Shamrock!
I am currently taking a fighter all the way thru the BG saga, and have just finished BGI. This story (& mod ideas) has given me renewed excitement! I was reluctant to download your mod packages from the link, as I play on a "work" computer, but I am seriously considering a couple mods (Saerileth & maybe Tsujatha...although I previously enjoyed Aerie). Any advice on good mods with no bugs & how to install would be appreciated. My assumption is that the tactics mod just seems to make a the game a bit more challenging....correct? Also, I know I can get Saerileth & Tsujatha from Sillara's links (thank you!), but what about other mod stuff? Sorry if I'm terribly naive, I know I've come to the right place for answers, though. Shamrock, I'm a fan, thank you for the entertainment! Most enjoyable! Looking forward to more!

Nope, I just pulled up the full screenshot and it looks like I cast finger of death. I was under the impression that death spell only affected low level monsters which is why I didn't cast that.
I was pretty surprised it worked actually, it was more a lucky shot than anything else. I expected him to shrug it off, but I had cast 2 x greater malisons on him earlier which probably helped. I never really use disintegrate due to the risk of losing loot. |

There are some really good AI improvements though and things like dragons are actually scary now. Think of tactics like an arms race - both sides need to really deal more and more damage, but in the process you learn a lot about the game and have (IMO) generally much more satisfying encounters. You can install each component individually though, so leave out the parts you don't like (like I did). If you search the forums, Six of Spades did an extremely detailed and helpful review of tactics which may give you a good idea of the content, although there is also an extremely detailed readme included. It will force you to use every ability of each character in your party, which is generally a really good thing IMO. Quote:
Another huge resource is the pocketplane group here, who have a large collection of BG2 mods, including the likes of Kelsey and Keto. Also, the sticky thread at the top of the forum contains an essential list of patches / bugfixes which you should look at here and some extra mod links further down the page here. Hope that helps. Thanks so much. Long Live Detheriel! If anything happens to one of your front-line fighters, I'd be happy to serve the cause!
