Kynnen 57/85

Kynnen's eyes grew wide with the recognition of the amulet. He already saw himself walking around, invisible, planting people on his halberd and watching thier look of supprise as they are impaled. He hastily took the amulet off Andrion's neck, and held it for a moment. He placed it around his neck, and let it go, waiting for the magic to take over. nothing happened though. Kynnen took it off, and then put it on again, even tried chanting the begining of a spell, but nothing happened. Letting out an angry breath, Kynnen took his halberd, and brought it down at the mage's body once, twice, groweling in anger. "Xsa rivvil m'elzar! Nauxahuu uns'aa ussta yulul, orn dos?" He hacked again, severing the mage's head off his body. Calming down, Kynnen looked behind himself, to see the rest of the corpses in the room. He hoped that the paladin might have something usefull too, lest he hack him to pieces as well.

OOC: "Damn human mage! Deny me my prize, will you?" is teh translation from Drow.

Plaxica 85/85

He took the pouch from the druid and examined its contents as she explained what he had to do.

"Arcades. Dead?" - he whispered unbelievingly. "He was the one who caught Andrion after the attempt was made on Larry's life. His death is both unfortunate and comes at a bad time. I shall do what you ask of me, yet if you can give me a general direction in which to look for him, that would be of much help."

Kynnen's search for treasure:

You move along from the ruined remains of the mage. Your next stop is the paladin that had not even had a real role in this battle.

Examining the body, you find:
- Heavy metallic armor, layered in copper
- The man's hammer, decorated in gold and silver patterns
- A pouch of gold. (78gp.)
- A pouch around his neck, which holds two odd rings.

Kynnen 57/85

Kynnen took the gold pouch and the rings, and hung them around his neck, together with the amulet which wasn't working. He didn't even look at the rings, the armor took his full attention. It looked beautifull, embroided in copper and with symbols Kynnen couldn't even begin to decypher, but it would sure look menacing enough on Kynnen. He leaned in, and started unfastening the inner straps of the armor. When he was done with the breastplate and the backing, he tried putting it on, to discover he could move inside it freely. Too loose. He started shortening straps, and even trying to shorten the chains by tieing them up on themselves, but it wouldn't work. When fastened in the armor, Kynnen could barely stretch out his arms infront of himself. Kynnen was strong, and large for a Drow, but nothing like this bulky man at his feet. Not even the greaves, nothing fit him comfortably enough to move around in. Just as well, it was ugly anyway. He shed himself of the overly-embroided armor, and dropped the heavy plates on the paladin's body, taking care for the sharp ends to be aiming downwards. He walked over to the archer's body, thinking his elven chain was his last chance of him getting any worthy protection here. Untill he got his Abyssal back.

Kynnen 57/85

Kynnen took to taking off the leather armor off the charred elf. It looked elven enough to be an excellent trophy, if nothing else. Strapping it on to his chest, he felt the magics imbued into the leather seep into himself. His smile widened to discover that it even fits perfectly to Kynnen's body. He quickly took off the cloak, and draped it around himself, clasping it at the front. He noticed that the inside had some wierd effects. He could almost see through it. At first, he thought it was just a very fine material, but it wasn't. Even when he put his hand behin it, he couldn't see it. He quickly turned it around, realising that this will surely help him in sneaking. "Siyo... siyo, Usstan saph nindol!" he said happily, while taking on the elven boots he found. He got up, took his bloody halberd, which he preferred to all the other weapons in the room, if for nothing, then for the blood it had on it, and proceeded to get out of the room as he had an idea. Andrion was the man who betrayed his master's son, Roderik. The Reaper will be very pleased when I bring him Andrion's head. Kynnen walked back over to Vincent's body, and took the bag with the tools, and then walked to Andrion's head on the floor, and threw it in the bag. Tying the bag to one of the shoulder straps of the armor, Kynnen took the tapestry of the castle off the wall, and draped Andrion's body with it. He took a torch off the wall, and threw it at Andrion's body "Flamgra, flamgra hwuen ussta jabbuk ssinssrinen dos dro." He picked up his halberd again, and walked out of the room through the same door that Silt ran off through, and up the stairs. Walking up, he took the time to inspect the rings he took off the paladin's body. He took them out of the bag, and read the inscription on one of them "Koveras?"

OOC: 1st line is "Yes, yes, I like this!" and the second is "Burn, burn until my master wants you alive", to translate the drow.

Inside the pouch was a gold ring with a purple gem in the shape of an 8 point star, with the word Koveras engraved on the inner ring, it was warm to the touch. The other talisman was a small stone, round and hollowed into the shape of a ring through natural erosion in a stream, a very rare stone reputed in folktales to ward against the magics of the fey, the veracity of the tale was often questioned, as few people were willing to allow fey creatures to experiment on them to test it.

As it warmed in the hand of the Drow from the brief contact, an image appeared that was of the noble paladin Morguerat, his face fair, and cleanshaven, bathed in light his steel armor fairly glowing with goodness and holiness, and shimmering underneath was the blackened armor the Reapor wears, twisted spikes going in every direction, the visor lifted to show the face of the once noble Morguerat, now twisted in contempt for all things that are not his own, the dual capes flap in unison against an unfelt wind as the mouths open together and speak."
I have a message for you, heroes of legend," the voice sneered, it's derisive tone echoed hollowly around the now deathly silent hall. "There is much to tell, and little that you would understand or trust from me. I have reasons to act against Larry that have nothing to do with my fall, but even he is not the reason for this message. The Shadow has the candle, as well as a pawn of some importance to me. I know the candle is the only thing you're likely to care about, so I shall focus on that, it is an artifact of great power, and evil. Letting the shadow keep it is sure to bring death to all lands, including mine and this I will not tolerate. I shall grant any aid needed to those who go after the Shadow, and stay my hand from conquering more lands for the next ten years if you will ensure mutual survival for all of us." The image shimmered and vanished. The warmth remained for a few seconds after the image vanished and then that too was gone as the stone grew cold in the hand of Kynnen.

DM insertion:

On the stairs, we have this order.

Nanashi is first, because she was already at a higher level to begin with, where the guards are.

Behind her a bit will be Silt. He will come in contact with the three guards if he does not run past them.

At the tail of this race is Kynnen, who is several steps behind and in seemingly no hurry. He too will be passing the room where the guards are.

I will be RP'ing the gaurds, though surely not as good as Legolas was.

Nanashi:

For her, there was no challenge. Nanashi made it up the flight of stairs with no problem, not from the tripwires, nor with time. She had extraordinary powers that the Mage had taught her. Having the agility of a cat, the powers of a were-creature, and the determination of a young woman out for revenge...she had come to a point of ultimate power. Sure, her brother was also strong and nearly as graceful in his actions...but he was weak in other areas that only she could see.

Wait. She was talking about him again. She had to keep focused on the mission.

She came finally to the top of the tower, high into the air, and found a locked door. To be playful...as cats are wont to do...she simply scratched lightly on the door...and meowed.

Larry Silverfall 23/23

He turned from the woman, at the sound behind the closed door. It sounded like a cat.

A cat?...

Larry felt a tightening of his throat...and could not help but shake visibly.

He turned back to the duchess...

"Do...do you own a cat?"
