Anarrima 60/60
Ana sat upon the ground in a state of shock or utter confusion. The truths had not yet caught up with her yet. One minute she was watching the arrow bounce off an invisible shield, the next she was sitting on green grass and breathing the warm air of nature. Her goddess shone down upon her, warming her with radiant brilliance. She looked around and saw Brendon staggering to his feet, equally shocked. He looked himself over as if to believe that his body should not be tangible in the spirit world where the dead go to await their judgements. He looked briefly at her, with eyes that seemed to ask in amazement if she had been the one to do this miracle. In turn, she shook her head and then pointed at the...the good undead guy. She had still not come to terms with him either. ================================================= Brendon 25/70 Brendon looked around and noticed quickly that two members of the party were not here. Saithele and Morgie. Where had they gone? He saw Wyrd still sleeping or maybe just resting...and saw Ruby at the lion's side. Anarrima was there too, looking dazed. He looked at her in amazement as he knew that if anybody would have been able to do this, it would have been by the power of her Goddess. However, she understood his expression and denied it, then pointed. He followed the motion of Ana's hand and beheld the miracle bringer. Myron, the old strange undead guy from the beginning of the quest. The one that had bestowed upon him the gifts, and had asked only for a gift in return from the adventure. Brendon ran up to him and wanted to hug him, shake his hand, or something, but he did not quite know what to do that would be appropriate. Therefore, he said, "My friend, Myron! How good it is to see you, and here I thought we were to perish to those giants of shadow! I suppose you have come looking for your payment that I have offered you? Take a look at this!" Brendon threw off his backpack and began fumbling through it in search of the Mist Diamond and Silver Dragon blood. He figured that it was a just payment for this rescue. Myron Epimetheus
The little man turns at Brendon's greeting. "Ah! I see you have done more than sleep, boy!" There is a genuine trace of excitement in the voice of the sage as he receives the yong man's gifts. "Yes, yes, these shall do quite nicely and I must put them to use. There is so much to do, why one scarecely has the time to finish the thinking at hand before new thinking must begin ....." His voice trails off as his mind pursues a stray tangent of thought. After a moment he turns again to Brendon. "You are pale, my young friend, so white it is little wonder you needed to sleep." Once more he reaches into the strangely deep pockets of his robe, this time drawing out an earthen bottle and a small cup. Filling the cup, he hands it to the young man along with some of those small napkins which are so wonderful for the writing down of the things one has been thinking about. "You must be sure to have something warm to drink. Yes, yes, a warm drink is just the thing to stimulate thinking when one has grown tired. And there is so much thinking to do and so little time within which to think the thoughts one needs to think." He places the bottle aside while he carefully places his gifts into his pockets and then turns, muttering to himself as he does so. The little man's feet shuffle a few inches above the ground and then he is gone. ooc: The curious warm liquid will remove the lingering chill of the Underforums from those who drink it. She feels the chill run down her soul, and almost.....almost loses her train of thought, but the runes on the ground begin to glow as the stepping stones vibrate in time to her song.......
The statue flashes, once.......twice..... then in a blinding blue light, a beam falls over her and the stepping stones........ |

She slowly sinks to her knees, her eyes now the color of the evening sky at twilight, and the area around her settles into a dead silence except for the hum of the stepping stones....She leans back against the Oak tree, and blends into the bark, disappearing from sight......
The stones call to the banewolf, speaking to it in a language enticing to it's kind, sending into the wind it's call over and over........ [ 03-08-2004, 07:05 PM: Message edited by: TAOWolf ] |

Brendon
Brendon smiled and was glad that the old sage accepted the gifts in the good-faith payment that he owed the old guy. He accepted the curious potion that was offered and sipped at it. Strangely enough, it reminded him of Peach Brandy, but warmer. It totally removed the ickiness that the underforums had left impressed on his mind. Now he felt as well as ever. Not wanting to fall into greed, Brendon carried it around, first to Anarrima, who sipped her fill, then to Ruby, then to Saithele who had not yet awoken from his slumber. That is when he discovered the party's latest casualty. He turned to Anarrima, voice a tad shakey. "What are the proper methods of care taken when an elf dies?" Anarrima just sat there for a moment, allowing the brew to wash away the long cold from her bones. Still, it did not lift her spirits from the passing of Saithele. "We return his body to the nearest forest." |

Brendon Grey 25/78
Brendon nodded to her that he understood. Looking around, he saw a forest in the distance. That was also in the direction that they needed to travel, for the mountain that was atop the caverns of the Underforums had been passed under and was now a distance in the other direction. What luck! He wiped his brow with the napkin of Myron's for it was a warm and sunny day. Then he noticed that it had been written on by the old man. He sat down and opened it up, looking at it to try and figure out the handwriting, which was really classical. Nobody wrote like that anymore. It read: wind moves in such a way that the Hunger cannot grasp it thunderbolts too are beyond its reach buried in darkness beneath fallen stone it is well shielded from the sun. This was amazing! Myron had made notes of the Hunger, the main goal of this party! He jumped up and down, happy that the old guy had come through for them once again. Ana and Ruby wondered as to what was going on, and Brendon explained the notes to them. "This could be the key to winning! I know we are but three people and a lion, but at least we have this. It tells me that wind and thunderbolts are stronger than it...so remembering the histories of this game...I can say that it must mean that storms have the advantage..." He was distracted however from his thoughts, as a terrible wailing sound was heard from far away. It made him sick to hear it, and looking in the direction of the sound, he saw a glimpse of a speck in the sky...that was moving toward the area of the sound, which was past the forest. It seemed to have a golden reflection. "Hm...it looks like we may have our work cut out for us on the other side of the forest. I think I just spotted a Gold Dragon, but that sound was not from him. Let us go...the battle awaits us, and I fear that our time to finish it draws very close. Ana...will you accompany us?" "You saved me from the deep darkness. Yes, I shall travel with you." ================================================== ============================= ================================================== ============================= With Saithele being placed in a beautiful grove in the forest, and Anarrima mentioning that some of his possessions could be taken from his corpse, Brendon led the team through the forest and toward the sound that they had heard...which continued and it made everyone sick to know that they were travelling more near it. However, Brendon assured the team that the dragon he had seen was a Golden one and that the dragon's aid would be vital to thier quest. When they left the forest, they began listening and watching for signs of that dragon again hoping to find him, as well as the baying sound of some unearthly beast that they hoped would not be found. ================================================= OOC>>>Notes on Discussion thread [ 03-08-2004, 07:49 PM: Message edited by: Larry_OHF ] |

Only her eyes show, and she watches the stones still chanting softly into the wind. She catches a glimpse in the sky of golden hue, and smiles.
She claps her hands together sending a small bolt of lightning into the air the bolt ending in a signature rune, letting Arcades know where she is. |

[i]Seeing the bright signature rune rise up from the forest, he leans into a current of wind and glides just short of Kaylisa's location, rolling once he hits the ground and splintering several trees.
After shaking off his brutal landing, Arcades moves tward his friend, and smiles upon seeing her again.[i] I've got you a sample of the stone the dwarves were taking. It has the scent of one of my dragon brothers on it. They must have slayed one of my kind and stolen it from him. He lifts one of his paw scales, digging out the piece of stone from where he stored it and sets it beside Kaylisa |

"Did you see that? It was like a flash of lightening, though it came from the ground and travelled skyward! Surely we are close to something." Brendon 25/78 "Yes, I saw it. Everybody just be careful and do not react before we determine friend or foe. We have come too far to fall and everything that The Holy Choc and his subordinate Ziroc laid down for these forums are at stake. We must not fail. Ahead with caution, and Ruby...let me know if you or Wyrd get the aire of something strange". [ 03-08-2004, 10:48 PM: Message edited by: Larry_OHF ] |

Her eyes flash as Arcades sets the stone next to her, and she reaches out picking up the stone and setting it between the stepping stones......
To the normal eye, nothing has changed, but to a dragon's eye, an elf's eye, and her kind... the warding weave taking place between the stones is verra visible... the weave works methodically, working it's way from the bottom up, and starts to hum along with the stones........... She shifts to wolf form as she releases herself from the tree and stands just behind this newly formed gate, looking at Arcades as the moonstone on her neck activates blocking her hearing from the banewolves deadly call... she looks south, then back at Arcades and whispers... "The others are coming.... do not let anyone near this gate, yourself included... you do not want to go where this will take you. Protect them when they show, for the banewolves are coming... I will attempt to lure them into this gate...." |
