Yeah, where I'm from I pass a good deal of quite healthy ones who *choose* to sit on their asses all day and sleep at a half-way house. And they want my mone.

Sorry, this is a side of mine. Let me save you all the trouble. Timber!

It is the entire point of this issue.

The Susan Vega song comes to mind. "It's so small to you, so large to me".

It's nothing for you to walk outside. It's everything for a nonsmoker to be able to work in a smoke-free environment.

Have you heard of baseball? Have you heard of the Negro league?
Oh, no. An overly-tall white boy dons heavy woolen clothes in the middle of summer, hits a little ball with a stick and runs around in a circle while other overly-tall white boys in equally sensible attire chase the ball around. Repeat. The little wrinkle is that they won't let overly-tall black boys suffer dehydration and heat stroke, too.

C'mon. Baseball would only hire a tiny number anyway. 99.99% of the overly-tall black boys wouldn't make the team even if the owner were colorblind, simply because there are other boys who play the game a little better. The real racism was in the trains (Plessy, I think, which allowed the state to force the railroads to have separate but equal carriages for blacks, but once the idea passed muster, the states were allowed to force other businesses to discriminate, too), busses, in which Jim Crow laws forced the blacks to the back, and the aforementioned "colored" washrooms and entrances. Oh, and the local constabulary enforcing the Jim Crow laws which denied businesses the right to sell to any paying customer they chose...

This is so far OT is it not funny, but if you want to talk about racism, you have to include the king of racism which has always been, and remains to this day, governments.

So enjoy it folk's and be glad to wear the "tearing down America one freedom at a time" hat.

There is nothing tough about it.
Thankyou. My point entirely. So give it a rest and comply with the will of the people.

Yes, sir, Chairman Mao. Seriously, I've never heard a more tyrannical comment.
Is the legal act of masturbating legal in public bars? What about sex? That's legal too. Is it legal in a public bar?

I'm glad America is increasing it's freedoms. Now non-smokers are freer than they were. Long live Americas freedoms, they are increasing one at a time!

Go outside for two minutes.

Go outside for two minutes.

It's not hard, just go outside for two minutes.
I agree. Take your loud music outside for 2 minutes. How can anyone enjoy a bar with the stuff turned up THAT loud?
There are noise restrictions Timber.

There are plenty of places that exclude and do it in a legal manner. All kinds of private clubs that excluse all types of people based on religion, gender, race, and other factors. That is something you deal with in a free society.

The problem here is those fine people gave not one though to people who smoked. I am not saying everyone should not be treated equal but that is not what happened. Listening to you Yorick is frightning. You can't get past "my" "I" to see the bigger picture that I am sure you could care a less about.

Had people got together and made way for non-smoking and smoking bars then the issue would have been much better resolved. Let us stop beating around the real issue though. These same people see a America where smoking is a banned illegal act. At the very best they see a America where smoking is something you should do with the local heroine addict in a corner far from society. They can't ban smoking outright so they chip away at it
........ watch this issue and I can't help but give a nod to those who set it all up. Clever move and even here in America we have people saying it is just fine because who cares.. "it's a smoker" afterall who is killing every little child and woman. Yet the evidence show's FAR greater evils that do FAR greater damage to the public. I don't take rights and freedom lightly and no matter my opinion on smoke it is a non-factor.
Amen. Lady Liberty weeps. Nanny culture opens the door wide for mob rule.
