Alliene's silver eyes had narrowed again, "Watch what you call me, boy." Her gaze snapped to the warriors surrounding him, and they jumped, "Get with the others." She hissed at them. Now that they were back in her presence, and not the softness of Sui'aerl's, many gulped and more or less ran to the trees, under the dark shade were the rest of the drow army was.
"Sui'aerl. How nice of you to return, after all these years. And with Tagnik, the last object I wanted to see." Her smile was more than forced, and as warm as her eyes, "Yes, we do indeed need to talk." She turned around and marched off, obviously expecting her to follow (only a fool wouldn't).

Alae hugged Arlyth, "We're glad you're safe, little cousin. We were worried about you." She winked, I say we because Alaerth was enchanted by Alliene recently. It was for his own good, but he hasn't regained his vocals yet." Alaerth scowled at her. "Other than that, we are all well." She smiled over at Xvim, who clicked her claws together in agreement.

Arlyth smiled at his cousin, and returned her embrace, his eyes warm. Kissing her upon the cheek, a rare gesture of affection, he replied "I see. I also see you are more or less in one piece. Tell me, what happened here? And what happened to the elves? I see many of them with their weapons on the ground... what is being done with them?" his tone, despite it's warmth, held an adult note in it, and it was clear that he wouldn't accept anything less then a complete and full answer. The two elven priestesses remained a few steps away, but they looked very much like a bodyguard for Arlyth... he had changed greatly since the last time Alae had met him...

~~~At the same moment in time, in a glade away from the others...~~~

Sui'aerl followed Alliene. Once alone, she wove an incarnation. No-one would hear them. She paused, and turned to her mistress. She genuflected with the proper respect that was due to her mistress and began, "Mistres... why are you displeased? I obeyed your orders, all of them..." she looked at her, somewhat confused. After Alliene had crushed the former first house, with the help of her allies and Alliene's mother had been slain, Sui'aerl had been left in charge of Alliene's house until she had returned. Upon Alliene's arrival, Alliene had ordered her in secret, to seek out her enemies and infiltrate them. Sui'aerl dissappeared the same day, and no-one had heard of her since. A small group of warriors had accompanied her, and she disappeared into the night... "Why would you not wish to seek the blade, Mistress?" she asked, "Lord Calaethis's parting orders, along with yours, centuries ago were, despite what ever passed between you, the blade was never to be allowed to fall into enemy hands..." she paused, "Since Lord Calaethis relinquished claim over the blade, it... returned to how it was before he merged his mind with it; it is calm now, without the erratic emotions eminated by its former master... Mistress, it wishes to speak with you..." the priestess swallowed, "Please, when the boy spoke with you - it was the blade speaking through him, not Arlyth himself." she paused again, and bowed her head, "I... have learnt much about this enemy we face, Mistress; it is indeed the former first house... and I have dire news..." she stopped, waiting for her Matron to speak... or execute her.

"We have since discovered before your return that it is the former first house who is trying to unseat House Streea and cause common discourse along my bloodline." She twisted her hand on Nizzre's hilt in annoyance, "You would think a sword would show more respect to the one who created it. Like sword like master. Its original master." She turned on her heel and glared up at Sui'aerl, "Dire news? Well what are you standing there for. Tell me what it is."

"The elves...well, Alliene sent us to the castle to destroy a crystal that was being used to control them. I guess after we destroyed it, they all stopped fighting. I'm...not sure what going to be done with them. Alliene might let them go, or she might take them to the Uderdark and sell them...I really don't know." Alae frowned.

Arlyth smile dropped. "Let them go." He said, his tone steel. "I refuse to see my kin slaughtered or sold." Alae should be able to work out where such strong feelings came from; after all, his mother was once an underdark slave...

Sui'aerl nodded to Alliene "Mistres I... I'm not sure how to tell you this... Mistress, your mother... they... somehow got hold of her corpse... they have raised her as a lich... and her... spirit... is a banshee..." the priestess swallowed, "Forgive me mistress, but... I swear it is true, or at least, I believe it to be..." she bowed her head, "And the sword... it fears you, my lady. It... would respect you, but it knows you hate it... it wishes to talk with you..."

At the mention of her mother, Alliene's skin had paled into her brilliant sea-elven sky blue....something that hadn't happen since Shar had touched her, "My mother? How could they..." She couldn't say anymore, too enraged, too heart stricken. Wordlessly, she turned and left, and stalked up to the rest of the camp. Alae saw her and her eyes went wide, and she hastily sprang out of the way, "Tagnik wishes to speak with me?" Her voice was strained with uncontrolled fury at the news of her mother, "Give it here then, unless it wishes to speak with me another way." Any words about the slaves would best be told to her at another time, or Alliene might go on a killing spree.

Arlyth simply placed the obsidian blade in his aunt's hands, and bowed. His eyes held no surprise at Alliene's behaviour or her regained sea-elf colour. They were, however, somewhat sympathetic, but they still held an aura of steel in them. As Alliene took the blade, Arlyth turned back to his cousin.

~~~At the same moment in time, in the depths of Alliene's mind...~~~

Tagnik spoke, "Beloved Mistress," it whispered in her mind, "It has been so long... you have changed so much." the sword tenderly carressed her mind, and the drow felt its untained and pure love for her. It's thoughts were no longer erratic, and it's taint was gone. It was calm and it... held the part of Calaethis before his draconic blood had awakened. The sword whispered in her mind again, "We should be alone..." and teleported the pair of them to a secluded glade. Alone together the sword whispered in her mind, "I... know you hate me and though you would destroy me, I cannot harm you, mother." the sword sighed, "Your mother... there are things you should know... after the battle... I changed... something happened to me, I felt... him change, and it disturbed my thoughts, my essence... Mother" it whispered, "They... they were not all dead.. the former first house... they stole your mother corpse... they... they somehow knew they would fall, and prepared for it... the daughter and Natha were a diversion ... as I behaved the priestess, my mind briefly touched with hers, throwing my own into confusion... it took me years to recover... my knowledge... is yours..." the sword emptied its entire memory into Alliene's mind, images that it had not even shown Arlyth. The sword had lain upon a pedastal within a cave for over a century; alone. During that time, it had lain alone and had sorted out it's collective memory. It had only one desire, to return to Alliene and warn her of the former first house's plan. And... of her cousin. Alliene could, if she wished, return him back to how he was before his draconic blood was awakened, and she could do the same to Arlyth, removing the draconic curse... the sword paused, and waited for it's creator to absorb the knowledge.

"Removing the taint now won't do anything to help. The damage has already been done." She stared at her pale blue skin, then frowned at forced it back to black, "The manipulation of the Spider Queen is deep. No doubt one of her hand maidens told the old house of our plans, in hopes they would destroy the worshippers of Shar. They failed, and now Lloth will use them for revenge against Shar, against me." She lay the sword across her lap and dropped her face into her hands, "Curse them." She whispered, her eyes gone dry in place of tears, "The only thing worse than what they did to my mother is what they could do to my daughter."

Alae bit her lip and looked at where the drow and sword had dissapeared, "Aunty looked upset. I hope everything's going to be alright."

Tagnik gently carressed it's creators mind, the equiverlent to a hug, had it been in humanoid form. Tenderly, it whispered, "Then mother, let us hope that your daughter is not in peril." it sighed, and whispered, "Removing the taint... would do much and it is not the boy's fault who his father is. He hates it... he would do anything to be free of it." the sword sighed again, and whispered, "Mother, is it possible that the tratior still lurks amongst your ranks? It would not be Sui'aerl, I have seen into her mind, and she would die before betraying you." Tagnik paused and whispered, "Mother... they made her body and mind into that of a lich, and her spirit as a banshee... it is... horrible..." the sword sobbed, betraying the hurt it felt at it's creator's mother's fate. "She... isn't just undead, she has been torn in two." the blade shuddered mentally, "It... is perhaps one of the most horrible fates they could concieve, Mother." it sighed, and whispered, "I've... missed you so much. When... when you disowned my master... it hurt me. More then you could know." the sword's voice was almost like a childs; it did think of Alliene as it's mother, and it loved her.

~~~Meanwhile...~~~

Arlyth sighed. "I hope so too, dear cousin. But right now, I am more concerned with the fate of those elves. There is well over two thousand of them. I refuse to stand by and do nothing whilst my kin are slaughtered. he looked into Alae's eyes. "I won't back down on this, cousin. If you let them be slaughtered, or taken as slaves, you'll have to do the same to me."

Note to self: STOP spelling centre correctly.

Alae's face hardened, "Don't you speak as if they're my responsibilty, little cousin, because they're not. I would rather they be set free as well, but it is Alliene's decision, and if she decides on one thing, no one can convince her against it."

"Shut up. I don't want to hear anymore about my mother." Alliene growled through her hands, "If there is a traitor, I will find him. Take me back to my drow."

"Yes Mother" the sword replied obediently and sighed, "I'm sorry..." it whispered, "Are you still angry with me?" it asked, its tone anxious. "I'll take you back in just a moment, Mother..."

Arlyth glared. "As you wish, cousin." He said, his tone none too pleased. "Regardless, it is good to see you again. Where are we headed next?" The young elf paused, "I assume that the two priestesses will accompany me?" he asked, his tone almost as though he were addressing an equal, but still held a measure of respect for her.

"I am not angry with you now, Tagnik, but if you don't take me back I will become angry soon." Her tone was impatient.

"The priestesses? Well...I don't see why not." She sighed, "I'm not sure where we're going next. I suppose we'll find out soon."
