OOC>>Oooh-kay. Several posts have disappeared. All for the better, no doubt. IC>>
LILYBLACK(the point of "Cold Iron" under her chin produces a softness in her groin, the like of which she has never felt before. She shreiks and tries to wrest her way free, but not before her neck is sliced by the holy blade, nearly to the larynx. She disappears.) |

Sanael Ganahr
He barely had time to draw his own sword before the woman disappers. "You seem to have interessting enemies Sir Blandamour - a dragon, a Lich and now that one. Or was your squire the intended target this time - perhaps to remove her as a possible contender for the throne." |

SIR BLANDAMOUR(to Sanael, grimly) "I fear that I was not the target, but Eliza, here. But yes, life is not without its interesting little encounters, is it?" (Stoops down to floor, examining the cup) "There is a little left in the cup, which fortunately survived. Let us take it to Sir Mandracus, so that he may scry out what it is. Eliza, my dear, are you quite all right?"

ELIZA "I am quite all right, my lord. But, who was that? Why would they want to kill me?" (Looks down at Cold Iron, hanging negligently in Blandamour's hand) "And look, blood on Cold Iron's tip. You marked her, then. Is it not true that you alone can heal the wounds of that sword. We should look for someone with a throat wound."

LILYBLACK (She pops into being in her room at the mysterious castle in the jungle. At first, she curses because her carefully-laid plan had gone amiss, but becomes aware of a cold, numb feeling at her throat. She looks down at her breast and is horrified to see her robe covered with blood. Picking up a mirror, she sees a two inch long laceration of her throat, whose edges glow faintly blue. She has been wounded by Blandamour's legendary blade! She stumbles out, seeking her gray-clad lover.)

OOC>> Sorry for my absence, Legolas and Mistral. Been a bit busy of late.
The half-elf noted the looks of cautious suspicion in the eyes of the elf and his lady. He shrugged his shoulders....their reaction was to be expected. "I assure you that I mean no harm, at least not to you or the lady. I know it's a bit of a cliche', but if harming you were my intent, I could have done it easily enough before revealing my presence. As to how we proceed, I feel perfectly comfortable with the plan you and the mistress were discussing as I approached. I can move about quite easily without being detected. If you are still willing to act as "bait", I will accompany your companion and provide you the extra security of having a trained hunter watching your back in addition to the lady. Once you are captured, she and I will come to your rescue and hopefully find your friend in the process. That works well into my plan, since I would welcome an extra sword or bow watching my back as I seek out the mage, Julano. What say you, elf? Shall we work together or no?" SIR BLANDAMOUR (They hurry back along the street, turning in at the Order Building. He knocks at Sir Mandracus' door, is told that he may come in.) "Sir Mandracus! Sorry to bother you again, but a strange thing happened. What appeared to be an old woman served the Princess here a cup of tea, and, when she picked the cup up, it dispelled an illusion, showing her hand to be a young woman's. I dashed it from her hand and attempted to capture her, to find out what she was about, but she disappeared, not before I wounded her with my sword. I trust you know the property of wounds that Cold Iron deals out? That they will not heal unless I lay the hilt on them? She will have that wound until the end of her days unless she confesses. At any rate, I have the cup here, with the remnant of the tea. Can you tell us what it is?"
SIR MANDRACUS (bows slightly) "Indeed, Sir Blandamour, some rumor I have heard of your sword. I shall be on the lookout for a wound like that. But, let me see." (He takes the cup, casts an Identity spell on it, and raises his eyebrows and turns to them.) "It seems that your assailant is caught in a web of her own devising. This is the venom of a s Southern snake, the Sargassan Serpent. It does not allow the poisoned one to ever be rid of it, and any resurrection merely renews the poison. But, as she found out, it has the peculiar property of dispelling illusions for a short area around it. It seems that it feeds on magical creatures, who are like to make themselves seen to be stones, or twigs, or other inedible things. The poison dispells their little illusions, and keeps them from harming the snake after it has been digested. A revolting poison to use on a fair young girl, but she seems to have not known of its qualities. Will there be anything else? Well, I have other things to do. I shall see you tomorrow." |

ELIZA (To Blandamour) "Oh, my lord, you have saved me from a cruel death. I shall try to prove grateful." (She looks at him adoringly)

OOC: No problem Cerek
![]() IC: Legolas He glances back at Sorsha, trying to see if she's all right with this man's company before replying to Aric. The ranger is prepared to let the bountyhunter go with them, but only while in the forest. Durlan aside, he didn't think he'd want the company of anyone but Sorsha for a while yet. "The only reason we're near this wood is because I wish to find a friend of mine. His name is Durlan Gnubber, and he is a ranger in these woods. I've reason to believe he is no longer safe but imprisoned in a stronghold, held by whomever organises the monsters in the area. We're going to get in, find him and get out again. I'll try to help you get in in return for additional safety, but if my friend is still alive I'm going to get him out there as fast as I can. You may go after this mage if you wish, but then you'll have to find your own way out. Whatever happens in there, when we leave there'll be no debts between us. Agreed?" Julano
Over two hundred Tasloi warriors, the emmisary had promised him. And half again as many if they liked the area. He welcomed all the troops he could find, but although these were relatively cheap, requesting only a few dozen acres of woodland of their own to live in after he'd conquered the land, they took up a lot of space and remained in essence rather weak creatures. Nonetheless, they were numerous and would be well at home around his stronghold. The first of them would arrive within the week. The necromancer had quite a vast army by now, counting numerous different species of thinking beasts. It hadn't been all that hard in hindsight, although he felt he lacked in quality. Reputation was more important to beings of power. Either he had to get some of that, or try to bind some to his will. He liked the idea of soaring over the battlefield on the back of a manticore, casting his spells of death as he went. But he knew that if he left on an expedition now, his forces would likely crumble and he'd have nothing left once he returned. Instead, he should spend some time with the elites at hand. Make sure they were still loyal. Julano slipped into a peasant suit and went to visit his vampires. |
