I have been a board member (on the old board) since February.
Mary Lou Two cats, one a 3 year old Siamese named Merlin and the other one is probably about 13 years old, tabby/Siamese named Skittles. House I wouldn't say religious as much as I would say I am a spiritual person. felt tips I play rpgs for stress relief, love the fantasy world, escapism and just love rpgs. I have a 1999 Ford Explorer. Sometimes click on Ziroc's sponsor's ads. My partner and I own a residential cleaning business. Favorite type of music varies: love Barbra Streisand, Cher, Bette Midler, Madonna, Melissa Etheridge, Beatles, Faith Hill, Shania Twain and New Age. Two brothers and one sister. Mountains The luxury item I would choose would be a book of infinite spells. Chips My worst nightmare was when I dreamed that someone was standing by my bed and I was trying to scream and I couldn't get my voice to work. Finally woke up screaming out loud. My 15 year old son thinks some of my questions are stupid. But all in all, we all spend time on the computer. My son is heavily into Vampire the Masquerade online game and he spends quite a bit of time on the boards. Favorite games: Wizards and Warriors, Thief, Gabriel Knight. Death penalty in some cases (like Timothy McVeigh). Yes, I am planning on sticking around this board for awhile. ------------------ Seeker of Truth |

Really seems to be my special day of inattentiveness, for I completely missed this one before I bumped the thread. I saw a total of 5 flats over the weekend and for once I don't agree with you. It is not much fun, I am rather emtionally drained. The reason is that I am, mostly, looking for a room in a shared flat, so seeing a flat also involves a more or less lenghty chat with the potential flatmates. The chats themselves are actually quite often rather pleasant experiences, but nevertheless, the whole procedure resembles way too much a weird mixture of job interview and blind date to be truly enjoyable. Especially afterwards, I always feel more or less uneasy: "Did I talk too much or not enough ?" Did I say the right things and did I laugh at the right moments ? Did I convey the image of a reliable and organized flatmate, but did I, at the same time, avoid to portray myself as a order fanatic and slowpoke ?" What makes matters worse is that if everything was fine, the flat looked great, the people appeared genuinely nice, I start to worry even more, because I now feel as if I had something to loose. And please. don't tell me just to stop worrying so much and be myself. Firstly, I already keep telling that myself and secondly, who of us has really got the gift to be so relaxed in a situations like that - for instance during job interviews ? All of the above notwithstanding, I know and have experienced what you were talking about: if I am having a good day, everything goes smoothly and especially if there is no fixed date up to which I have to find something, I can look at the situation in a similar way to yours: it is a great adventure, you get around in the city, even to quarters you have not been to before, you get to know new people and see how they live right away . Sorry in case much of the above sounded too much like lamenting, but like I said I am feeling really emotionally drained right now and there are several juries out right now debating my likability - not a pleasant thought. Take care and have yourself a wonderful birthday ! ------------------ So long ! R³ - new, much improved signature under construction ! |
