RubyIt is well. If that is your move, and you want to focus on a creature that is not attacking anyone and ignore the 11 shadow hounds that are close enough to start ripping into the two of you (you and Wyrd) without hope of getting any help from anyone else for the next few rounds, then that is the decision you have made. I was only hoping to remind you that the Grimlock is pretty much not going to be hurting anyone for a while but the hounds are ready to feast. I was not trying to hinder your character,,,only persuade you to make a better choice. I have to play the hounds in the area that they are in...and they will be coming.

I wil be interested in seeing you in action! Good luck!

inertial barrier is a defense. the psionicist creates a barrier of elastic air around herself and anyone else within 3 yards. like and unpoppable, semipermeable bubble, this barrier helps soften missile blows and can sheild those inside from many forms of damage.

Inertial Barrier cannot keep enemies out, but it does slow them a bit. Anyone trying to cross the barrier must stop moving when he hits it. He can then cross in or out the next round.

that is a summarization form the book. I would also argue it moves with the psionicist so long as she keeps concentrating on it, and does not attempt to start any new powers while moving.
According to the book, the power will continue (and follow the user) as long as PSP's are spent on it, whether "concentration" is kept or not, the expenditure of mental energy (spending psp's) on it demonstrtates the concentration, and in no way hinders new powers from being used, as well as physical combat, spellcasting (if she had the ability to do so), speaking, activating magic items, etc, etc.

This post is meant to clarify a rather confusing post that RevRuby didn't think was confusing *grumbles*.

Useful Updated Information

*Character positions:

-Anarrima is in the North, Center area.
-Dankarona is in the North, Center area.
-Dantes and Kethotar are in the South-East area.
-Shadow and the Posessor are in the South area.
-Brendon is in the North-Center area.
-Ruby is in the North-West area.
-Wyrd is in the North-East area.
-Syrathic is in the North-East area.

*Defender gnomes still living = 11 (all wounded in various degrees). They are all standing in front of their last barricade in front of all the ones that cannot fight, and have planted themselves there firmly and inmovable, determined not to let their loves ones fall. This is in the most North-Eastern corner of the cavern.

*Grimlocks still living = 11.
Four Grimlocks are hurt too bad to want to fight, and have taken to hiding in the corners of the cavern...most Western end, after fighting the elemental and being hit by thier own ally. One of the four are under mental control by Ruby. One was left outside the entrance with mortal wounds, and was bandaged by a good samaritan. Five Grimlocks are currently fighting with somebody. 1 Grimlock has been frozen with a hold spell.

-Syrathic has 1
-Kethotar has 1
-Posessor has 3

*Shadow Hounds living = Unknown. They melt into the shadows and appear to be as Wraiths in thier movements. It is hard to discern how many there are.

*Other The Wraith is hiding in the shadows of the Eastern End.
No additional information is available at this time.

I know what you mean, Psionics is hard to deal with if you don't have a solid working knowledge of how things fit together, they can be overly powerful in single combat/noncombat situations, but tend to be rather weak in mass combat (by mass I mean more than 2 on one).

This game war has been very exciting but alas all good things come to a close. We are very near the end of the attack in the caverns. Not too many more moves to go. There are not as many hounds as there were Grimlocks. But do not fret! After the cavern is cleaned out...there is still one matter of business to attend to. I hope everyone has enjoyed my little skirmish.

Ruby, now might be a good time for using a levitate discipline or something. Just a suggestion. . .

Larry: - After this battle would you mind switching the font color you're using for your bad guys? I'd like to keep the Gray color for Terrakis and the Shadow Giants to prevent confusion as the story moves forward.

First shadow giants, then shadow hounds, now shadow dwarves. Great. what more do we need? I need to start researching some serious shadow arse booting spells. But then I would have to get rid of the attract dwarven lasses spell. Darned spell restrictions. . .
