OOC>>Story time!
![]() Verloren Verloren scowled at the elf's first comment, "Drajlough, important? Pah, maybe 5 years go..." her face fell slightly. Glancing up at Illek, she lightly bit her bottom lip, "Well, truth be told, perhaps I am partly in fault for our seperation..." She hesitated, having not told anyone this story before-yet somehow she trusted this elf, "Ah...see the truth is, after about a year of eing together, he got busy with his trades, and more or less forgot about me for the time. One time I was riding Wind Shadow through a forest near his house, and i came upon an elf named Avalon; very mysterious. We got to talking, and I found we had a lot in common. We met everyday in that forest...and well, things got personal between us, and I realized that I didn't love Drajlough anymore. Little did I know that Avalon was actually a silver dragon...but when i found out, and he showed me his true form, I was too infatuated to care...and well, I broke it off with Draj, and stayed with Avalon until a few months ago, when my father forced me to seperate with him to marry some old twit in another state," A smile formed on her face at the thought of Avalon, and she beamed up at Illek, "You know, you even remind of him, with your hair the way it is..." she stopped immediatley and blushed. She sat on a rock near the waterfall and let her fingers linger in the water. She looked back at Illek with a sad smile, "You know, I'm half sea-elf and I've never even seen an ocean before..." She sighed and looked back at the waterfall, "This seems like a perfect place to rest...thank you for accompanying me on this task, it's always nice to have a companion, especially an elf."

LADY GALADRIA (Looks at Jonathan with a curious inward look.) "The lady can answer for herself. As for me, no thank you, for I am under vow to eat or drink nothing from the sun's set until the next. And, you may find, my vows are not likely taken. You have no answer for us?" (She stands to her feet with her armor ringing slightly) "Then we must go. Expect to hear from me again, sir!"

ILLEK(To Verloren, as he sits comfortably in the roots of a gigantic oak that grows next to the waterfall) "Indeed, fair maiden, my hair reminds you of a former love? Fortunate am I that my folk are silver-haired, since it gives my that entree into your good opinion." (He takes out a harp and begins playing it softly) "Ah, what could be better than this? On the road with a beautiful girl, water, trees, and wine?" (He puts down his harp and pulls out a greenish flask, then two small silver cups, chased with grape bunches, and pours a glass for each of them. He then toasts her silently, takes a sip, and resumes playing. The stars come out in a purple night, and a full moon begins to rise.)

Jonathan
He bows deeply as the ladies leave hastily, so that the expression on his face is inscrutable. When they are finally gone, he strokes his chin thoughtfully, before crossing over to the table. Picking up a quill, he dips it in the intricately carved bottle of ink and proceeds to scribble on it, his handwriting still remarkably refined despite the deft strokes. Suddenly emitting a whistle, he patiently awaits the carrier which flutters in, hopping daintily on the table. Before long, it has flown off, bearing important news to his intended recipient... |

ILLEK (Seeing that Verloren is listening to his playing, he is moved to extemporaneous song. He has a good tenor voice:
Princess Verloren! Such a name, For such a pretty elf. You seem not lost at all to me, But oh, so sure of yourself. Your tresses wind around my heart, Your eyes like opals shine, Your beauty goes straight to my heart, And spins my head like wine. [ 08-27-2002, 01:56 PM: Message edited by: Attalus ] |

ROXANNE (Blandamour and Eliza ride with her to the mountain city of Never. Blandamour wants to hire a litter, but she insists on riding a horse, saying through gritted teeth,) "If the brat is indeed fated, he can hold his own for a mere horeback ride, and, if I lose him, what have I lost? A half-orc child by one of those bastards that raped me. No, his fate is in the hands of whatever dark gods intend something for him. But, I do not need to go out of my way to make things easy on them, Helm rot them." (Indeed, despite a rough three day's ride, the pregnancy thrives. As they ride through the steep streets, lined with temples and shops, she looks grimly around. Finally, they reach the fortress-like house of the Sisters of the Sword, a fanatical sect of women warriors within the Order who remain chaste, calling themselves the Brides of Lathander. It is here that she has decided to spend her pregnancy, safe from anyone that would harm her, for the House is heavily warded, and the Sisters grim Amazons. She stops at the door, then breaks down weeping and embraces first Blandamour, then Eliza.) "Ha, my big brother, I thought I could carry this off without a tear, but I cannot. Pregnancy, even this one has unwomanned me. But, do not worry about me, Lady Carola is a competent physician, and you have your own work to do. Eliza, watch out over him, for he really is a baby." (She then dashes the tears from her eyes and disappears within the confines of the House.)

ELIZA (To Blandamour, as they wander to the nearest inn after dropping Roxanne off.) "My Lord, I am sorry that Lady Roxanne is taking this so poorly. How awful, to be bearing a child that you do not want and cannot love." (timidly) "I know that, if fortune favors me and that we have a child, I shall love it more than anything on earth, except you."

OOC>> Oy Bill, nice song!
![]() ![]() Verloren She felt a genuine smile form on her face at Illek's song. Setting aside the chalised cup, she waved her hands, and a hammered dulcimer appeared in her hands. Crossing her legs, she set the dulcimer on her lap and picked up the minute hammers, striking the strings lightly, matching the wood elfs melody with her harmony. The beautiful song resonated through the trees, causing the woodland creatures to fall silent. After a time, Illek stopped his playing, and Verloren took the opportunity to progress to a more difficult, intriguing tune. She halted after a few moments, and glanced over at Illek, "Were it not for my mother and elven relatives, I wouldn't know anything like this, being a warrior," her eyes flashed briefley, and she started a slower song, letting herself relax. Still playing, she looked at Illek, "So, it is a beautiful night as any. Why don't you tell me about yourself?"
