All right, Morgeruat, Azred, Luvian, what would you think of this? (Again, I'm only giving the true responses)
Imoen: "(Char), we need to talk."
PC: "Surely, dear, what would you like to talk about?"
Imoen: "Well, I don't really know how to put this, but I'm pregnant."
PC: "Imoen! After all of your talk of being faithful forever! Who is it? (names male NPC's in party) Or...Imoen! Could it be Irenicus?"
Imoen: "Now, (char), calm down. I've never cheated on you, and it couldn't be Irenicus, it's been too long. I've been out of my mind with worry, trying to think how it could be, and I can only come up with one answer: it's ours."
PC: "What do you mean? It couldn't be. We're both women."
Imoen: "Yes. Women who share the same father. Think about it, (char). Think about our father. He wasn't human when he fathered us, either. Maybe, just maybe, his essence in both of us has gotten together through our love, and is busy growing inside me. Oh, (char), what are we gonna do? Will it be a monster? A god? Will it kill me when I give birth to it? Will it kill you? Come here, feel my tummy. Can't you feel it moving? So soon? Hold me, (char), I'm so scared."
So, what do you think? I know that I'm scared, and I wrote it.

I like it as well, very good Galadria, (I can't believe someone actually listened to my advice, lol, I tend to get ignored in gaming sessions unless I'm, a: creating comic relief, or b: the DM... and b doesn't always save me either, lol)

I think it's going to come out exceptionally well, and make me restart *again* just to play it, not that I'm complaining about that, I love the replayability of this game.

Now, how about this: If Jahiera is in the party, she lures you to go to the Harper Hall in Athkatla. You go in, and
Galvaney: Well, Jahiera, you have done nicely to bring them to us. Well, well, the two Bhaalspawn, Imoen and (char). What abomination have you two schemed to bring into the world, now? Jahiera has told us that the little redhead is pregnant, with a most unnatural child. She did right to tell us of this. We have determined that this cannot be, as a child this powerful would upset the Balance totally.
Jahiera: Galvaney, what are you saying? I brought them here to consult with you about the best way for Imoen to handle the baby. You said that Elminster would be here, and in his wisdom he should help us.
Galavaney: Yes, Jahiera,I know that I told you that, but I couldn't get in touch with Elminster, and we decided that we would handle this, ourselves. Don't worry, there shall be no bloodshed. I shall just Imprison them both a few miles down in solid rock, They like each other so much, they can keep company for eternity. Now, if you two will just step over here? We are too many for you to fight, seven to five.
Jahiera: No, Glavaney, it shall be even. This is no trial, you have no such authority, and I will resist you. (Big fight)

I like it, of course you'd have to do something to keep the fight with Galvary from happening earlier... but I like it.

As long as you can kill them I have no problem with that. I hate it when you play a game, and your character get captured without a choice to fight.

This is what I mean: You have a group of high level character, they are so strong that they can kill a dragon in 2 turn, but then come an NPC with 2 guard, he say that he is arresting you. Next scene you are in prison. That just get me mad, that is the most illogical thing possible. An evil character would just kill those guards, and a good one could ignore them or knock them uncounsiuos.

That is what happen when that guy kidnap Nalia. He is with about 3 guards, but you can't even try to help her, because the guy tell you that if you try the guard will kill you.

Yeah, I e-mailed Columbus, and he said that for the Galvaney fight to happen like that, he'd have to say that the child was Irenicus', at which I of course, balked. I refuse to even consider what that would cause. He wants the pregnancy script to occur in TOB, about the same time as Aerie's, which makes sense, I guess.

What a fascinating development! Too many possiblities as to what might have jump-started a pregnancy: was all the Bhaal essence removed, Imoen is a mage (she could have subconsciously used magic to manipulate events), perhaps another Power allowed it to happen (there are plenty of others who would like to prevent the return of Bhaal), etc. Even if you leave those questions unanswered (and who wants all questions answered?) it gives them both something positive for which to struggle. Thank goodness, though, that in the midst of all this death there is some life coming into the equation....

Were the child to be Irenicus' I don't think anything negative would necessarily happen. At least, not until you had to explain to the child what happened to his/her father.... Jon, of course, wouldn't care, but Ellesime would. I think having the child be Jon's would add many more levels of tough decisions for the PC and Imoen to sort through. Just a thought.

If Balthazar learned that Imoen were pregnant would he 1) fight the party but not her or 2) refuse to fight for fear she might be hurt? Even with his goal in mind he is lawful good, despite his rationalizations. I think he would have limits, in spite of his current and recent actions.

Questions, questions, questions.

Azred, you are right. After a little reconsideration, Irenicus' child would just be a little half-elf, though I'm sure that Immie would agonize about it, and might not accept the child at first without a lot of support from the PC. Columbus seems to think that the Harpers would have a problem with ANY Bhaalspawn, er, spawning, but it removes the resonance of a possible all-Bhaal child (or, it occurs to me), an anti-Bhaal child, if both the PC and Immie are rejecting the role of Bhaal, i.e., the PC is good or neutral. If the PC were evil, I shudder at the possibilties.
