Sounds like a US thing (no offense.) It's good to meet you. I felt like an intruder on this board sometimes, as I didn't fit in with the clique of the "old timers."
Animal, dear, you are as much a member as anyone who posts. Never feel like you can't post here. And if I've not said so before,

WELCOME TO IRONWORKS!!!!!

I do applaud your self control around your daughter. That's pretty wonderful that you do it. And yes, those 'camps' may be an American thing, I'm not sure.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I guess I'm getting off of topic here, and I don't wish to raise the ire of the omnipitent ones, so I'll leave it at that.

I would agree with you in theory, except the the thread is "Should you smack your children?" not Have you been smacked as a child?
Rememmber the old saying "When I was a child I thought as a child, but when I became a man (adult for the PC crowd) I put away childish things" There's a world of truth in it concerning this subject.

If you wish to understand Magik's reasoning on why you should have a child, please read Sir Tallisin's post, the last paragraph sums it up in a nut shell. Anyone may grasp the concept of the awesome responsibilty of raising a child, But until that that responibility smacks you down "like a redheaded stepchild" (Time for a weak attempt at hummor) you don't have a clue as to what you are in for. In raising kids there is a lot of things that look good on paper, but in the reality of raising kids they fall apart.

Seperate and apart from my reply to you anderwas.

Oh by the way to ALL of you that are crying about MagiK not wanting to pay much attention to the opinions of those that don't have or are still childern themselves. WOE to you HYPOCRITS and FOOLS, HOW DARE YOU! It seems to be OK for YOU to not except MagiK's opinions on this matter, yet IT's not OK for HIM to do the same thing that you are!!!!!
And to you people that LOVE to spout off at the mouth and call others arrogant, well you might want to get a dictionary and look up the word arrogant! Then look up the words that are used in the difinition of arrogant. Then try appling it to your posts and see how they stack up.

Thing is, John, some of us have empirical knowledge
I didn't just read it, I've dealt with kids in person over the years. Sometimes I was more than happy to hand them off to mommy and daddy too.. LOL

Well when I was a little younger, early 20's I used to have a bit of a temper and since I'm a fairly big guy, my friends began calling my Animal. There is a longer story behind it, involving some police occifers, some beer, and some time in jail, but that's behind me now. Oh, and that little guy playing the drums on the muppet show was so cool.

Pretty much, although people tend to judge me based on my appearance so I have a hard time meeting people as they tend to make them nervous. I guess shaving my head doesn't help, but it sure is fun to watch people's faces when I walk into a room!

Golum? Not quite sure what you mean. If you mean the big guys in RPG's, I guess I would be. I went to my daughters first school dance 2 months ago and a couple of the parents asked "Why do we need bouncers for a high school dance?" My wife was 5'2" so I'm hoping my daughter takes after her and not me, but it's not looking real good so far. LOL!
