Since I was asked to reconsider the importance of the maps, I will go ahead and throw them out here. Take note...I did this quickly and simply, so they look like crap.

You may not believe it, but Plaxica survived that roll on his own, with no tampering from the DM. That was roll #1 for his character to determine the damage done by the spell. He was the sixth man rolled for of the six to be affected.

I just wanted you to know that I did not cheat for him, in case any of you ever find yourselves at the mercy of some dice.

Sometimes I will step in and be merciful...if I feel a need for it...but at this time I would have let Plaxica die if the dice were against him.

I knew that Plaxica could have died, it was a risk to take for him, but to stay in character Andrion had to act against Plaxica. At least now I get to roleplay Plaxica much better. I'd like to thank Cyril for all the cool info he showed me about owls. It should make the job much easier.

The spirit inside Plaxica shall be using darkred

To all Players:

I have evaluated myself in terms of such things as spells, saving throws and all that and realize a need for some change to take affect immediately. For many of you, this is good news. For one or two, it may be a hinderance, but since we are all here to have some fun I see it prudent to fix some bugs in my system.

Example. Andrion cast 8th level Horrid Wilting. The spell calls for 1d6 for each caster level and there are no saving throws nor limit to how many bodies in one area can be affected. In order to play fair, I will cap such high level spells and offer saving throws as well as how many people can actually be affected.

This is not to punish or retard playing, however...it is to take the edge off of some of the most dangerous spells so that all players that are actual players can game against one another in an enviroment where everyone has equal chance to succeed.

I do not want to play favorites, and just because somebody is not on the DM's character's team does not mean that I will watch them die with a smile on my face. Instead, my goal is to make all of you remember that the Lord of the Forums is the most kick-ass game that you've ever had the privilage to help write.

Do I have any comments or questions about this new idea?

And remember, I am not picking on just poor Andrion...I apply this to all players, though most of you are not as high of level as he is. Don't worry. If he fails to kill Larry, then the Mage will boil him alive in his own urine.

sounds fair, I recall slaughtering most of Euryales army with a well placed spell, and thought it was a bit unfair, even though it worked for me.

Don't worry. Cyril could tell you that I was telling him that I thought Andrion was too powerful. This way he shall at least have a challenge, since so far he has not even been hit.

Warning.
This is to everyone.

The time may come to protect your character from being killed, either by NPC or PC. The ones that die are usually the ones that do not have a good record for posting after making the commitment.

The way out of this is to post here when we can expect to be hearing from you again. There are several people not playing...and all of us have our reasons for not being able to get here. Yet I have also been told that sometimes less-active players log in, yet still not post, nor even tell us when we can expect a post.

We are at one of the biggest and most exciting turns in the game where alot is happening! At times like this, we'd expect to see people begging to join the game, and the players posting fervantly.

The opportunity to defend your character will be given, and an alloted time will be considered by the group as to how long we can wait. After that time has elapsed...it will be time to roll up a new character.

I speak not for myself, but for all of us that want to move in this game, and cannot for being held back by innactiveness.

Don't take it personal. We all have Real Life to live. But if you cannot make the commitment to be regular, then it is time to taste death.

Well put, Larry.

It is frustrating when an RP hits an exciting point only to have the action weakened when the players are indifferent to posting, escpecially when there is no indication given as to whether and when a post may be forthcoming. I think you're right in deciding to press forward with the action. Everyone has been given ample time for action and has been clearly warned that failure to act has consequences -- in fact, you've been remarkably patient. As you've noted, we're all busy and need to make time for posting, or at the very least for letting the other players know if we are unable to post. Composing a simple post or putting a note up in the discussion thread are not difficult things to do, and the second is simply basic RP ettiquette.

As you know, I've been holding back on posting fo rmy own characters to give events in the castle and elsewhere a chance to be concluded. Although I have been tempted to kickstart the action elsewhere

Again, Larry, well said. We all need to be reminded of our responsibilities to the other players in the game from time to time.

Here's hoping you rpost generates some sustained activity.

Anybody wanna play a game while we are waiting for enough posts to satisfy the RP requirements?

Here's a Quiz:

1. Given what you know of me, what do you think was my first car I ever owned?

2. Where did I get the idea for the last name of my lead character?

3. Can you name other stories or movies that are probably contributing ideas to any aspect of this game?
