Candle Team:

The song filled the air with mirth, and although the spell-song was aimed at Andrion, both Silt and the Lamia were within 30 ft. of the projected target. The Lamia failed her saving throw and felt a slight tingle throughout her body. This stopped her from advancing an attack, wondering what had just happened.

OOC>>>From the spell description, the first round that the spell is activated, it causes a tingling sensation, followed by one round of uncontrollable laughter in the next. She has stopped to consider what has just happened.

Andrion Wilgor 54/60

The hands which were choking him had made him lose the spell he had wanted to cast upon his companions to free them from the spell. The ghostly hand, although hurting him was for the moment only a minor annoyance. As the Lamia had been momentarily taken out of action by Roderik's spell Andrion decided that the time was ripe to kill the vile creature. He turned on it and cast a spell more powerful than the one before.

OOC: sent spell stats. Should Andrion succeed in killing the creature he is going to try dispel magic on himself and the party.

Andrion, I take it, made his save vs. the spell that was cast at him from Roderik. As the second round neared, the choking hands caused another (2-1)=1 damage to Andrion's life. This however did not prevent him from pointing his finger and muttering a quick curse that provoked the Finger of Death spell from assaulting the Lamia, in her disrupted state. The creature was not able to prevent the attack and as she began laughing as the laughter spell took effect, she added to the wail of merriness a moan of painful woe. Her body lurched forward, blood frothing from her cackling mouth, then she fell to the ground a broken form. The Lamia was dead. Upon death, the charm spell is broken on both Silt and Roderik. This however does not take the hands of strangling away from Andrion's neck.

OOC>>>Andrion, subtract 1 hp for this round.

Andrion Wilgor 53/60

Andrion watched the creature's death with a certain satisfaction, completely forgetting for a moment about the hands strangling him. A sudden bolt of pain made him aware of that condition. He prepared to cast a dispel magic spell at himself.

OOC: sorry forgot to add the part about me saving Roderik's spell. I actually rolled a ten sided dice with a 50% chance.

Seeing the creature for what it truly was when it fell shocked the bard, he quickly regained his composure and waved away his spell of grasping choking hands, it was an effective measure against most magic users, and it had worked well this time, in the future he might have need of a similar enchantment again...

"I am most sorry for striking at you Andrion, why I don't know what came over me, twas the strangest thing..." The bard looks rather confused while he tries to recall which creature this is, and what useful body parts it may have.

Silt 80/80

Silt, the elf, the lightest of the lot, the most agile of that, fell over! He was so shocked, he had just been about to slash andirion in half
(ooc>past saving throw) when he had been distracted by some laughter from him and the "beautiful elf". But now she was dead. And he was very much alive! He was in utter shock at what his intentions had been, he must be more careful now he decided to himself.

"I am so sorry for my intentions Andirion", the elf whispered, "I do not know what came over me, but I promise it will never happen again"

The elf sat for a few moments on the ground, and then picked himself up and dusted himself off.

TO THE CAVERN! he shouted.

"Well, you see...I kinda remember another trap. This, uh...well...the necklace. It has an enchantment on it that I placed over two years ago. It is when I first began dwelling in shadow magic. Before the darkness took over my soul. That may be why you did not detect it when studying the thing for a trap. Conventional magic will not detect shadow spells. So...when this necklace enters the cavern above, it will summon shadow creatures into the room. There's alot. We are in for a huge fight, but I am not as strong as you are anymore. I may be useless in the battle. Unless I can find some way to bring out an inner strength that I have presently unable to find.

You're smart....what do we do?

Vincent Pathfinder 98/98

" Shadow creatures should be effected by light correct, if not then we will need to haul ourselves from this pit quickly. That or we can lure them below somehow and set that trap off on them. I have some grapple arrows that I can shoot into the roof above that I can attach silk chords to that will support our weight. I have never fought a shadow being before so this is only conjecture. I have used the shadows for many things, but never fought with them ". With a tug he pulls the covering off the ball that he tied to around his neck, when this happens a bright light, as if the sun itself leaps forth from the ball. A 15' radius is brightly illuminated. " What do ye think sir "

"Wow! I'm impressed! You seem to be full of tricks, which in my case is a darn good thing. Yes, shadows are weaker in bright lights. They will be less likely to attack you head on, and instead try to find a way around and behind you. Or they'll just come after me, unless I am standing in the light's projection. This should be fun, to say the least. That dragon sure picked the wrong time to abandon us, you know? Well...anytime you are ready Vince."

OOC>>>Move us into the room with your post, Vincent. Then we'll have some fun! Don't worry, I have a backup plan if things go sour.
