Hazardous Times, Part VII (all welcome)

[Galadria]

GALADRIA (to Addison)"We go to seek out our companion Sorsha, whom we have sworn (looks quickly at Blandamour) or, at least, I have, to help her regain her throne. She seems to have left the temple where we left her, and we are casting about in hopes of finding her." (As they round a bend in the road, she hears cries of 'Help!' she pricks up her ears and says to her companions) "You two wait here, I must investigate those cries." (She rides over to a clearing, then into some bushes and behind a tree. There is a sound of a scuffle, and Blandamour rides over quickly to find...nothing.)

Sorsha

She half-gapes at him confusedly, resisting the temptation to scratch her head ~ "A...after you left?" ~ How long had it been since she last saw him? Feeling her body trembling from some strong emotion, she dares not speak for a moment, so afraid that she will break down in front of this... heartbreaker.

Drawing several deep breaths, she closes her eyes, trying to blot out all unhappy thought. Yet his request precisely denies her this luxury, and a slight frown forms on her quivering lips as she struggles to regain control of herself ~ Why is it that I weaken in front of him? ~ The mild anger no match for the countering thrill and fear she has for the handsome elf.

At long last, she reopens her eyes, fixing them on his face solemnly ~ "So much has happened that I hardly know where to begin... or rather, I can't quite remember at which point you left." ~ Her voice deliberately low, trying not to betray the gentle reproof lingering in her sore heart ~ "But... I'll try."

Watching him, she finds herself relenting despite her intentions ~ Why, he has no obligation to be with me... and yet... he promised. ~ Sighing involuntarily, she shakes her head gently at his bewildered expression and resumes her tale of the adventures that has befallen on herself and her companions...

When all has been revealed, she sits quietly, nevertheless still staring at him, wondering what is going through his mind ~ What will he say? What will he do? ~ It is impossible to tell. She waits for his response, having all the time in the world to do so now...

[Attalus]

SIR BLANDAMOUR (His face is ashen, to Addison) "It must have been an ambush. Someone has kidnapped her. But who? Why?"

[Galadria]

URCHIN (Pops up unexpectedly, to Blandamour)
"Sir knight, if ye make it worth my while, I can tell ye somethin'"

SIR BLANDAMOUR (He reaches down and grabs the urchin by the front of his greasy tunic and hauls him up to where his face is level with his own)(Snarls) "Make it worth your while? How much is it worth to you to live? Talk! Who has done this, and what have they done with the Lady Galadria?"

[Galadria]

URCHIN"Hey, easy does it big man! I'll tell ye, but if I help ye, would ye mull a reward. Me mom is raisin' 5 kids." (drops voice) "They made me holler like that. They'd ha' killed me, else. They dropped a net on her when she rode through the trees, an' bashed her on the 'ead, an' threw her on a horse, then rode off that way" (Points east)

[Attalus]

SIR BLANDAMOUR(Throws the urchin down) "Bah, I'll wager that you did it willingly, and peached on them to sweeten your profits in the deal. Consider yourself well-ealt-with that I don't thrash you, but I have no time. I must pursue these kidnappers without let. Farewell." (He casts about, finds horse tracks to the east, and follows them.)

[Cerek the Barbaric]

Addison stares intently at the urchin for a couple of moments...seeming to look right through him. He realizes the boy has basically told them the truth and knows nothing more of value.

He closes his eyes in concentration...mentally probing the surrounding area in an attempt to locate the kidnappers He doesn't sense any of them nearby.

As he spurs his horse to catch up to Attalus, he again closes his eyes and sends out a telepathic message Find the kidnappers!
