I seen that rooster today for the first time. I am little more scared of the guy holding it.

I am done my part of the cleaning. My entire room is now clean, and very tidy.
![]() To give you an idea, Cloudy, the Hepa Filter itself looks like a big piece of insulation, about 3'x3'x2' or so. When we started, it was yellow. The entire thing is now grey, and we're not even done. |

![]() I guess this picture would be almost as bad, then. ![]() Those are my roommate's flags, btw...and if you look real close, you can see some reclaimed desk space on my desk, thanks to that monitor I was talking about. ...and I'm short. And my roommate, mister 6'3" took the picture. [ 02-21-2006, 07:54 PM: Message edited by: Ilander ]

True Moose... *wrinkles nose at the description of filter* well, at least you know it's working! I hope it clears all the mold out of your house! What a hassle to have to do all that, but way better than living with the mold for sure!
ROTFL! Ilander, you and your rooster win my 'crazy enough to crack you up just thinking about it' award this year! And the rooster's kinda cute....in a scary doomish sort of way! HAHA! We had a teeny tiny bit of snow last night but it's so cold it stuck and is just a fine white blanket on everything. I want spring to arrive but then again, I don't want to have to start tugging weeds out of flowers and dealing with the lawn yet...so I guess I'll deal with the snow for now. Hubby is taking back a pair of glasses for me this morning...ARGH! What a pain this has been. Boys and Girls when they tell you 'there's no such thing as a free lunch'...BELIEVE IT! My husband's vision insurance is pretty good and I'm on it as a supplement to my own which is ok but my optometrist isn't in the system so I don't get much back and only every 2 yrs for major stuff, while hubby's is yearly. Soooooo, after getting new contacts for the year on my coverage, hubby suggested I get my glasses (backup to the contacts) on his policy. We decided to go with a place that's really a sort of 'walmart of vision care' but it didn't seem so bad- just ordering the glasses with the RX my doctor had already done for me....simplicity itself, right? ACK.... We had to get in before the end of the year (this past December) to use last year's benefit so we rearranged our schedules to do it on the last day this place was open, got in, chose a frame, got the whole thing ordered (I had to be firm about them sticking to the prescription as they wanted to 'upgrade' alot- makes a little more money for them) and we left, expecting my glasses to come in after a week or two. They did. we picked them up and in the parking lot I realized I couldn't focus on anything more than a few feet from my nose....hmm... this is not good I think...and back into the store we go. The optician was nice and tried to help by checking my old pair against the new...did a zillion things to try to see what the problem could be and said the 'center' was off on them and she'd have them fixed for me. Fast forward to a few weeks ago when I went back to get them and yes, STILL couldn't read license plates 20 feet away with the NEW pair but could do it just fine with the old ones (which were a slightly different prescriptions). So the same optician seemed totally baffled, messed with gadgets, both pair of glasses and had me try them over and over. Finally she just said she couldn't see a thing wrong (well she admitted the base curve was off by a little bit, but that "shouldn't matter") and offered to re-instate our benefit....uh.. HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! That was last year's benefit and does us NO good, on top of the fact that I need the glasses. So I took time off from work, took them to my own eye doctor and optician, had my eyes retested to be sure of the prescription and guess what? The lenses were so badly ground and so OBVIOUSLY badly ground that they both noticed it within a few minutes of my arrival. Hubby spoke to his quality assurance people (he works for the insurance company that covers us!) and was told they'd had a lot of trouble with this place and we should make them do it right. Sigh...more time wasted on a 'simple' thing...but I guess we do need to do it, so hubby (who has time free in the morning some days) went back yesterday.....only to have another of their opticians (older gentleman ) tell him right off that they were badly ground on the 'wrong plane' and offer to fix them, but Jim (hubby) said, "No, I want to talk to the manager about this, it's really been annoying and frustrating and they need to hear it" (his office told him to see the manager). The nice gentleman informs him of the times/days the manager is in and gives hubby her name....yes, it is the same name as the woman who was 'helping' me the last two times I was there! When hubby told me that, I thought PLEASE tell me there are more than one "Rosie" working for the place..... how much you wanna bet there is only one? ACK! So, any bets on how long before I see my glasses and whether or not they will be right? Oh yah, the 'good news' is that they were free with the insurance coverage we have..... ![]() [ 02-22-2006, 09:02 AM: Message edited by: Cloudbringer ]

*dramatic voice* You MUST pay the rent!
*falsetto voice* But I can't pay the rent! whooo...anyway, I'm off to class, after far too little sleep. Being an insoniatic lonely person sucks. Except for when there are people around to talk with. Either way, I still walked for forty minutes in the rain...see ya'll later.

Keep at it if you like it, DA! Uh..interesting sig you have there....
Well, update on the glasses situation...poor hubby had to restrain himself because the manager of the place is the one we'd been working with each time my glasses weren't right and she's nice enough but kinda like she's taken a few too many prozacs, you know? Skips around any direct answer you ask for and doesn't help much- seems to just want the problem to go away without doing anything to fix it! So my husband complained higher up...to the personnel division of their company and supposedly they are calling the store and telling them to get it right and do it in a week not two or more that she was saying it might take. So, we'll see. I dont plan to go back there again even if the glasses are still wrong..I've spent far too much of my time and energy on these people! Hubby wants to just take them to my own optometrist if they aren't right and see if we can get this company to pay for the fix if they are so incompetent....sooooo, we'll see what happens!
