There's a problem, and it's the problem inherent to all biological and sociological changes: What if you run out of the necessary resources before the change is complete? No metamorphasis into butterfly, you stay a bag of self-digested juices and rot.

Heh...damn...

when talking about punishment I can now include the mugging of me today, when I asked my neighbor to turn down the music...The idiot suckerpunched me in the face and knocked me unconsious!
I pressed charges later on...and IF he should be declares guilty he is looking at 3 months...but is that enough...I keep on asking myself if I should have stood up and returned the punch...can´t say anythin but...the world is a shady place

DAMN, Sparhawk, THAT SUCKS!!! Sorry for you, dude. IMO, you shoulda returned the punch, beat the crap outta him, and then reported him. But, I think you did fine. Reporting him was the most important thing, mate.

You did the right thing. Timbers advice is the worst possible. There's no guarantee you would have beaten the crap out of him. All it would have done is escalate the conflict. Retaliation of kind is never a solution.

Timber's advice was based on emotion anger and testosterone -- not reason. [img]graemlins/heee.gif[/img] Besides, since the mugger sucker-punched him, nearly knocking him out, I don't think he was even capable of taking my advice.

It's a tough call to make, as to when to use force and when not to. You can only do what you can do.

Of course... but I was referring to his particular situation. The assault had already taken place. He wasn't preventing anything by retaliation. It would be a revenge attack. Doesn't help anyone.

[/QUOTE]From what Sparhawk wrote he was Knocked unconsious so the choice was removed for him. TL wasn't (I'm taking liberties here TL) advocating retaliation after Sparhawk had regained consiousness(sp?), but returning fire while still under fire. Sometimes that's the course to take sometimes it's not, there in lays the question.
