Plaxica 11/85
Freely he flew on the winds, which carried him ever closer to his destination. The Tavern of the One Eyed Wolf. Yet strange were the things that his new senses picked up. Word from birds and beasts in the forest was that a powerful evil was afoot and the terror of the animals was visible. And then suddenly a feeling of dread hit the spirit inside him. Something horrible had happened. Not far away the death of a powerful creature could be felt. And then slowly, gradually the fear started building up in Plaxica. He could not pin down the exact cause of this feeling, yet he felt that a great evil was somewhere near. Unable to move on out of fear, Plaxica paused in his flight and started circling, until he managed to regain control over his nervousness. |

Yevaud
Softly he stalked through the woods, much as he had done for just shy of three weeks, every broken twig, bent leaf, and dew filled track told a tale. The tread of a step, invisible to most told speed, direction, even the time of day when the one he followed had passed. He was no ranger, nor a druid with centuries of woodcraft to their names, but the forest was just as much in his blood as in the blood of the one he tracked. The woods had grown silent as of late, and he had trouble locating recent spoor of normal woodland beasts, as if they had fled, or been chased away. He took note of this, and wondered at the danger, was the ground to thunder, or perhaps a fire nearby. no, he banished thoughts of a fire as quickly as it had come, he would have seen the haze above, and smelled the smoke. Something more dangerous was afoot he thought. Pushing himself faster he contented himself with speeding his pursuit, and trying to overtake his quarry before whatever force of nature, or fell creature that had chased away the animals caught the one he was after. And so it was that over the next day and a half he gained ground, and in his haste missed subtle signs that would have warned him. As he came around the thick bole of an ancient oak he saw his quarry waiting for him, sitting on the stump of an equally ancient tree. ooc Your move Larry. Vincent Pathfinder
Clearing his head form the shock he just absorbed he took a quick inventory og who was moving. Seeing the usual bodies he noticed that Marcos was unmoving. The skeleton had done it's trick although he had hoped it would have absorbed more of the blow from the spell Andrion had cast. Then he heard more runic speech and flash similar to what had hit him earlier hit the skeleton shattering it to pieces. A rage came over him then, This mage will die now, if it is thae last thing I do this abomination of life will die .Grabbing his bow he got back up and hurled it at Andrion, then drew his blades for close combat. |

Kynnen 57/85
As Kynnen was making another attack at his elven enemy, he noticed a flash coming at him, he turned just in time to see a lance of lightning flying towards him. It struck his arm and in the split second Kynnen quickly jumped, and shook the arm towards Silt. The lightning arcs from Kynnen's arm jumped over at Silt, and his body started shaking, the white lightning dancing across his body. Before the bolt of lightning escaped Silt's body, Kynnen moved in with his halberd swung sideways.

The One-Eyed Wolf Tavern
Flames dance merrily within the great fireplace and the smell of roasting meat tickles the nostrils and stirs up appetite. Heavy tankards of ale are filled and the calls for stronger drink have begun to arise from a corner or two. On a night when nature itself seems ill at ease, few things are more natural than the seeking of comfort in the sounds and smells and sights of a tavern. Those who have come this night find a ready good fellowship with each other in their common seeking after pleasant distraction from troubling uncertainty. It is busy this night, as busy perhaps as those first nights following the arrival of that Silverfall fellow when the curious arrived soon after and in great numbers. The tavern keeper smiles, for a night so busy as this betokens a morrow of counting the profits of very full coffers. No one hears the muted growling or the swift slamming shut of doors and shutters on the other side of the street. The frightful noise of panicked horses in the stables is the first sign that something is wrong. Tankards are set down and men rise from their chairs not knowing to what they may be responding. A great crash sounds in the kitchen area and is punctuated by the screaming of cooks and servants. Even as all heads turn to look in this direction, an angry snarl sounds from the other side of the oaken doors of the tavern’s main entrance. Suddenly these doors shatter to splinters which fly inward and a great wolflike creature, a creature seemingly more dead than alive, bounds into the common room. In the kitchen the screaming has stopped, but a low and angry growling can be heard. ooc: Any character needed for the plot or important in the One-Eyed Wolf’s history had best be posted to safety. The banewolves are quite likely the most evil creatures presently in the game and even servants of the Mage cannot count on safety in their presence. |

Anarrima Culurien 67/67
She smiled at the surprised look that she received from the elf. He had underestimated this one, who had already lived through many horrors and battles and was not so easily caught off-guard these days. "You have wandered far from Evermeet, Yevaud. Why have you come seeking me?" |

New moves
Vincent, in his rage, throws a projectile at Andrion, which misses the mark by a narrow margin, and then charges at the mage with his swords drawn. Andrion and Vincent are now in the same round of play and are in sparring distance with their next posts. ================================================= Silt and Kynnen: Kynnen attacks Silt, while Silt is in his defensive posture. ~DM takes time to calculate moves, stats, etc...~ Silt's defences and dexterity did not come through for him this time. Kynnen's determination and strength prevailed, and was able to deliver substantial damage to the elf. Silt's damage: 22hp. Kynnen got lucky that the lightning struck Silt as he was preparing to attack. The stunning effect of the lightning gave Kynnen two attacks, which shows in the damage total. Silt...the defensive stances are not working very well for you against this drow. Time to make your swords work. [ 02-09-2005, 12:13 AM: Message edited by: Larry_OHF ] |

Andrion Wilgor 10/40
Dodging the thrown bow Andrion realised the exact mistake that Vincent had made. Had the man not disassembled his bow he could have easily killed Andrion from a distance once the fire shield made his position clearly visible to all. Yet now here was the man, looking severely wounded running at Andrion. Andrion knew that whatever happened the ranger would die. Either he managed to kill Andrion with his strike, but then would succumb to the burning of the Fire Shield, or Andrion's spell was going to hit him first. "Telum Magica" - he chanted. OOC: Magic Missile aimed at Vincent of course. |

A bit surprised at having been caught off guard the elf blinked rapidly for a few seconds while his mind reeled. "I... uh... well... erm... Yes, well you see I just happened to be passing this way..." Seeing the arched eyebrow she had levelled at him he stopped speaking for a moment. "Milady Anarrima Culurien, I noticed you'd left, and without telling anyone. I've heard your tales and it would kill me if you failed to return, If I had stayed I would be mucking out stables, and holding doors for dwarves and humans," He practically spat the names of those two races, "Here I can not only protect you, but see the forums, save the rainforests, stop world hunger, bring about a four day workweek, with equal health care for High, and Sylvan elf..." realising he'd been rambling the elf quickly shut his mouth and blushed furiously. |

Andrion and Vincent
This is how it comes to pass, taking into consideration your stats and the rolling of virtual dice. Vincent won the initiative roll and made it to the attacking position before Andrion could finish mouthing the words of the spell he was casting. He attacks Andrion with his swords, trying to cut him through the raging fire that unharmingly consumes the mage in a dance of blue life. The attack results are: The attack made by Vincent caused Andrion to lose his spell before it was cast. He sliced into Andrion's fire shield, knowing that he'd be burned but counting it a worthy sacrifice if he could kill the mage. ~"To Hit" roll~ Hit was successful. Vincent stabbed at the mage with one sword even as the other was coming around to bring the killing blow. However, that second swing would never bring Andrion down. Before the follow-through, darkness crept into Vincent's vision, and he faltered, dropping the swords from his hands and collapsing to the ground...knowing that he had nearly killed the mage, but not quiet. He died with this torment on his mind. Damage to Andrion: 5 hp damage. Damage to Vincent: Death. It was inevitable with Fire Shield in-play. |
