For Brendon and Syrathic

Again the creature strikes out at the moving figure near it and again it misses. All the while the persistent slapping of the metal blades against its plates continues. The creature has received a few slight wounds from blows lucky enough to find the seams between its plates but shows no signs of flagging in its pursuit of prey. After a sudden shout the movement in front of the creature shifts and darts suddenly away. With a great bellowing roar, the bulette gathers its strength and leaps after the fleeing figure. The speed of this sudden movement is great and the creature lashes out with all four of its feet. Two of the clawed limbs strike home and send the figure sprawling into the dirt. The ground shakes noticeably as the creature lands. It turns toward the fallen figure, the crest on its back raised in its bloodlust.

ooc: Syrathic - You’ve taken 20 points of damage and have been knocked down. Your weapons seem to be in reach and with your quickness you should be able to recover you bearings before the creature attacks again. Brendon - Put that rapid shot skill to work! You have should be able to launch 3 arrows at the creature [2 if you aim carefully].

OOC: just let me know when I get there, I have a few spells up my sleeve that could possibly be able to help us, or then again maybe not. remember from the the other LOF Dantes was a kensi, but then dueled to a mage to defeat the necromancer that killed his father. I made a post of his history, but it must have been deleted by now. Basically Dantes is my first BG2 character, with a different backround

Brendon

Brendon saw two figures coming near the edge of the blackness, then saw the bigger one pounce and knock Syrathic down. It looked like it was ready to eat him! Brendon realized that his friend's life was now in immediate danger and he had no time to dally. At the sight of the creature's hood-like thing raise, Brendon shot and arrow right at that spot, and as the arrow left the bowstring, Brendon was already running towards the other arrow that was a few feet away that he had left in the dirt. Jumping at the arrow, notching it, and letting it fly in the same direction to chase the first, Brendon then dropped his quiver and bow and ran towards the beast, and into the mirky air. Getting close enough, he drew out one of his long-swords and had the intention to jump onto the creature's back.

OOC>>>Note, Brendon has not yet got close enough to make the attempted jump, nor has he realized it...but help has arrived close enough to be effective. It's your move, guys!

ooc: One shot sailed wide, but the other was a very solid hit. The creature grunts in pain and is clearly distracted by this new attack.

Azrael - You should be able to come on the scene after the creature's next action and act the following round. No one else has posted that they are headed this way.

As Syrathic made his move out of the darkness, he heard the creature moving. He hoped it was the creature giving chase, but instead, the creature leapt at him and swiped. The elf was surprised by the move and took two claws to the back. Syrathic groaned in pain as he fell to the ground, his weapons dropping out of his hands. "That thing is pretty agile for a big monster," he thought. "But at least it followed me out. I hope that Brendon is getting some pot-shots in."

In answer, he heard Brendon's bow sing twice. Syrathic pulled himself off the ground, picking up his two swords in the process, and turned toward the creature. The beast's crest had risen and Brendon had taken his shots directly at it! Hopefully, they would hit. Syrathic glanced to the side and noticed Brendon charging. "Does he know what he's doing?" the elf thought as kept himself out of the creature's immediate range.

He heard another sound from the other side; it sounded like a creature flying. Another figure had emerged from the direction of Brendon's other companions. "This must be the backup that Brendon was talking about," the elf thought. "Good thing; we're not doing so great."

With the beast's crest up, Syrathic felt that there best chance of defeating the creature had arrived. "I'm going in!" he yelled to the figure now close enough to help. "Help as you can!" Then he turned and charged back in, blood flowing from the wounds he had sustained.

ooc: Hehe, I figured out colors. Anyway, Azrael, help us out!

OOC>>>Cyril, I trust that if I ever make a move that is highly unlikely or not possible to explain from my end...you will let me know, so that I can fix it,...right??? I do not want to play illegally, or anything.

IC>>>Brendon

Brendon reached the creature by now, and jumped up on top of it's back. He could not get a good hold on it, as it was thrashing about, so he was basically holding on and trying to get situated to drive the sword through it's back where the opening was.

OOC>>>You see, I think Brendon was brave enough to think that he could get on top of the creature and attempt to hurt it this way, especially since Syrathic is in terrible danger now. He did not have any other ideas, and is acting soley on impulse of what he feels has to be done. If he manages to stay on or falls off is up to the DM.

ooc: Larry - The font was not too small -- you just used too many >'s Your post was fine except for one thing -- it was the monster's turn to act. It looks like you posted as I was composing this:

For Azrael, Brendon and Syrathic

The transition from shadow to light is disorienting and the creature pauses a moment before lashing outward to seize the fallen figure in its jaws. This hesitation allows the man to roll free and leaves the creature with nothing but the taste of dirt within its mouth. As it moves to pursue again it stops short as an arrow lodges itself painfully within the vulnerable flesh beneath the raised crest. With a roar of rage the creature wheels suddenly about in the direction of this attack. As the young ranger charges, the beast lunges forward seizing him briefly in its jaws. The man pulls free, but the creature has now tasted blood and flesh. A vicious and hungry growl rumbles out of its throat and it fixes its aggressive attention on the ranger whose blood still lingers upon its tongue.

ooc: Brendon - OUCH! That bite did 34 points of damage.

Now that everyone has their blades drawn – keep in mind the height of the creature. Getting to the exposed flesh with a sword is possible, but a tricky business.

(OOC: I seem to remember being in this thread a long time ago back during the time where Larry was defeated. Have you already killed off my character or can he return?)

OOC: I would have posted earlier today, or last night, but I had to do a funeral for a soldier today, a very sad story, he was at BNCOC (Basic NonCommissioned Officers Course) and was driving his new truck and due to fog, and bad road conditions his vehicle went off a cliff ending his life, it was a very emotional funeral and easily one of the most professional ones I’ve been lucky(or unfortunate) enough to be part of, anyway I had to go to Pittsburgh, a 3˝ hour drive (just to get there)… anyway enough rambling here’s my actions.

IC: Upon recognizing the mental cry of anguish of a good soul breaking in despair Morguerat takes a moment to mourn the loss that he knows only too well, before spinning Clonin about and charging in the direction Dantes went (Clonin has a movement rate of 18, and is a heavy warhorse). Opening his cloak Morguerat pulls an extremely large heavy lance from a deeppocket inside. He looked back to see what Ruby, and Zachary were doing as he sent Clonin into a thundering charge (double movement rate, it will likely leave him tired after the first charge, so I will be dismounting and drawing my sword after I charge by whatever the dangerous thing is).

OOC: I will change my tactics if the need arises when I arrive.
