Eliza

Instinctively, she rolls herself away from the tree just in time before it bursts into a towering inferno. As she scrambles to her feet, the fire is gradually doused as the heavy downpour now hurls itself onto their party.

Drenched to the skin and very much a bedraggled sight, she lifts her emerald green eyes to the skies and screams incoherently at it, shaking her right fist violently...

"ACHOO!!" ~ She sneezes involuntarily, now running about blindly in the rain.

Jaime

"Oh, why did I ever agree to this",?

Jaime says as he huddles in a dark corner, trying to escape the rain...

Raymond

Coming to a nice spot to set up camp for the evening, the two travelors begin packing down, and gathering wood for a fire. After dinner and after all the arrangements had been made, Isaura had volunteered to keep first watch, then wake Raymond up for the later watch. Since Raymond was still a little edgy about his feelings of invisible eyes around him...he made her promise to sit in front of the tent and not move, and if she had to go relieve herself in the brush, she had to wake him up so that he could stand guard. Isuara thought that he was taking his imagination a bit too far, and assured him that she was more than capable of handling any trouble, but he would not agree to let her keep the watch until she said yes to all his demands.

The party suddenly hears a single terrified scream, and recognises it as Eliza's. As all eyes turn in almost blased fashion towards her, they discover the source of her discomfort...

Eliza is staggering back, panic-stricken, as some strange creatures begin to fling themselves onto the dispersed party.

"Shadows!" ~ She can say no more, counting about four of them, their reddish eyes gleaming menacingly in the dark.

Isaura

"Alright, alright..." ~ She murmurs, fixing her glittering eyes reassuringly on his. Seeing Raymond reluctantly preparing himself to catch up on lost sleep, she smiles imperceptibly.

The hours pass, and this time she has no intention of waking him up. But it is certainly a little suffocating... glancing to ensure no one else is around, she carefully removes her veil.

Jaime

Hearing her cry of warning that unnatural danger was roaming this night did not do well for Jaime. He decided to distance himself as far away as possible. Looking around for any possible escape route, Jaime was determined to hide...but didn't really know how to hide in shadows from a shadow...Instead, he brought his rapier out in front of him, and continued to cower in the corner.

Raymond

Finding sleep very easy to fall into, Raymond was out instantly upon laying down. He nevertheless was plagued by visions in his dreams of eyes peering at him from hidden distances, clawed unmentionables stalking and creeping nearer to him, and then he saw his two friends murdered in fron of him. Eliza had killed them. Isaura came then...and scared the claws and the eyes away. She fought with Eliza, but was losing the battle. Raymond called out to her, but she could not see him nor hear his words. Eliza sneered as she brought her sword in for the kill...
Then, it was over. Eliza lay dead...Isaura was holding his hand as they watched the sunset over the mountains and the world was bathed in shadow.

GALADRIA "Damn and blast." (She draws her sword and lays into the nearest. Spells laid upon the blade cleave their undead flesh, rending them asunder. The first explodes and vanishes in a cloud of foul-smelling fumes. She goes on against the next.)

Jaime

Jaime looked up to see Galadria battling the horrid things. She was surely brave and strong. He was but a thief, a lowly, pathetic burdon on society. And here she is, protecting him and everyone, while he cowers in a corner. At that moment, Jaime had the beginnings of a change of heart. He didn't know how to battle the creatures, as his little rapier was not enchanted, but he was going to be a different person from now on. He owed Galadria that much, anyway.
Taking on a new courage, he stood up and watched her go, slicing into the monsters and banishing them from this world. He would run to her side if she fell and do what he could to help. He still had his speed as an asset to the company. What else was there to do?

GALADRIA "In my father's name." (OOC>> Thanks, Nalia) IC>>(The next three come at her at once, their menacing claws tearing at her, trying to get at her life force, but they are prevented by her Pendant of Negative Plane Protection, her birthday present. She feints right, comes back to the left with a strong two handed slash, shearing the one on the left in half. As the remaining two try to pull her down, she brings the pommel down hard on the topmost, knocking it off. She quickly brings the great sword up, point downward and stabs through the creature, dispelling it into nothingness. The last shadow grapples her again, trying to get at her throat, but prevented by her armor. She drops the sword, reaches for her dagger, stabs at it.)

Rrang

He jumped from the treeline, followed by Darklock and Jumper. Snarling and growling, the three bite at the shades, yet they can't seem to grip any. Spear nor claws seem to have any effect on the creatures, passing through their ethereal bodies like knives through the mist. Despite their relentless assault, wolves nor Faeralan ate given a second glance by those few shades which actually seem to have eyes. Their interest lies in the warrior woman with the grey armour, a shade of grey humans call pink.
And indeed, she seems to be the only one fighting who can actually harm the creatures. If she fell, the shades could deal with them at their leisure.

Still growling, the ranger moved over to the other knight, trying to get him fully awake. Whoong ran off through the rain to warn the rest of the pack, Darklock hurried away into the night to fetch a druid living a few miles down the road, and into the woods. He'd probably be late, but every wolf knew darkdrifter packs were seldom alone.
