I'm fine with glasses... but then again, I have been wearing them since I was in Gr. 3.

I got my galsses in the summer holidays between high school and sixth forrm. New classes, registration etc... A lot of people never knew me without the specs. Thats the easiest way i guess. I realised I needed them when a specy friend could read the board better than me without his glasses than i could with his glasses!

I've worn glasses for over thirty years, and contacts for almost 20. Any eye problems that I've had from my contacts have generally been tracked back to me and my hygiene habits -- you really *do* want to wash your hands before working with your contacts, folks.
I never had any serious problems, but in my 20s I started using my daily-wear contacts like extended-wear ones. I'd sleep in 'em for up to a week at a time. Turns out this is bad because your corneas get oxygen-starved and your eyeballs will build new blood vessels to get more oxygen. When I decided to take care of my eyes again, I had to go for a week or two of wearing contacts properly before I could even have an exam. I've taken care of them properly ever since. No problems of any note that were caused by the contacts.

Hey all, how is everyone tonight? I'm just back from the Dragonforce gig (anyone heard of 'em?) It was amazing, great pit, but only thing is I'm almost completely deaf right now! So stoked though, was brilliant!

Anywhere from 5 - 7 days. It's a doozey. I'm doing the cold FX thing to try and thwart it.
Hope you feel better soon Sir G.

5-7?! UGH! I hope that I do my usual fight-off-cold-in-24to36-hours thing. I had been feeling sick since Saturday though, so maybe I only got real symptoms near the end.
Edit- The least I can ask for is my voice to stay normal. When I woke up today, and went to ask my mom if I could stay home from school, my voice came out all crackly and more or less 2 octaves lower. I wasn't at all amused by it... I sounded like an idiot. [ 09-19-2005, 09:52 PM: Message edited by: Sir Goulum ] |

Well the upside is that no one was around to hear it but your Mom, and Mom's love you crackly voices, stuffy noses and all.

Yep, I bet it's every mom's dream that they can have a kid with a nasty cold 365 days a year.
