Couldn't just use a heat gun to remove the existing dark paint? Or does that only work for certain paints?

Can you use a heatgun on drywall? It seems like it would be too hot...

Perhaps, never tried it. To be honest, the last time I saw someone remove paint with a heat gun was when my dad repainted our porch, when I lived up in Pennsylvania, when I was like 5-6 yrs old. Soo, umm close to 20 years ago.
Not to turn this into a political discussion, but I just saw an Obama ad that amused me greatly. He essentially promised to improve education by boosting funding and approving more teachers. Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't that out of the Fed's jurisdiction? I was under the impression that it was a state controlled process.

Well, I don't know if a heat gun would work on drywall or not. I suspect not, since the paint impregnates into the paper that wraps the drywall.
Plus, the thought of spending *hours* with a high-powered hairdryer, trying to remove paint, is not the kind of thing I'd like to repeat ![]() I'm also no professional painter, who might be motivated to do things like that. I'm a "paint over it, who'll know?" kind of guy... ![]() Gonna have to take another look in there today to see how it's holding up. I *think* I probably just have to do another coat around the trim, which shouldn't take long. And I have to patch up all the places where the #$%^@!#$^ paint came off along with the masking tape... ![]() Never got around to stripping and recaulking the sink. Maybe next time...

Ugh...home improvement...thankfully, I think that kind of thing will tend to be the kind of thing Elizabeth gives me direction on, and only really makes me do the complicated parts of...so, plumbing, yeah. Replacing sinks, absolutely. Painting? She'd ask me to help, but I wouldn't be working on it alone....
Well, I assume not, anyway...not that we live together (waiting for marriage for that one).

Yup, ..spent the day out doing stuff yesterday again. Stared at 9am went till about 4:30pm with a quick lunch in there. I ache all the way down to my tail-bone. (actually, I'd like to know what I did to it)
The weather was actually good yesterday; maybe 50-60ish.

Eurgh. You know a few days ago I said my drunk friend threw up in my sink? I kinda repayed the favour.
Never do seven vodka shots at five am, and then try and wake up at eight. Definatly learnt my lesson.

Well that's obvious
![]() Also note that if you do seven vodka shots at 5am you should not top it off with five at 7am. Does this mean things are looking up for you and you are partying 'til late, or that they are still going downhill and you're drinking yourself into oblivion**? *Work is the curse of the drinking classes - Oscar Wilde **it's kind of hard to tell the difference between these two unless you're the one doing it, in which case it's impossible.

Hey UV, I was told you wanted to ask me something a while ago? Any truth in that?
And they're looking up, I think I'm still working well, but I am going out drinking. And getting drunk fast, cos I'm rather short and light, and have never really drunk before I came to uni. Don't worry, I'm not planning on screwing up my liver.
