Larry casts her a particularly devious smirk ~ "Now why didn't you accept my offer to teach you how to do this properly?...Tsk...tsk..." ~ Placing down his own brush, he gets up and walks over to her. Standing behind her, he holds her left arm gently yet firmly, directing her with the paintstrokes. ~

Their proximity causes her to tremble a little, and she forces herself to breathe more regularly. Stammering, she says ~ "It... it doesn't seem too difficult..." ~

Noticing Mistral's slight tenseness while holding her arm, Larry released her and directed her to try a stroke on her own. This, she did successfully. Satisfied with that being done, he took a deep breath and stated...

"I was not actually truethful with you eariler about my time in the market square. I would like to tell you what I actually did."

She stops as she hears the more serious tone in his voice. Making a mental note of her newly acquired skill in the art of painting, she bends down and places the brush on the ground, careful for it not to smudge against their feet.

Slowly, she rises and turns to face Larry, her eyes gazing at him in wonder ~ This must be the first time he's not told me the truth... I wonder what this could be... ~ Her pulse begins to increase ~ I'd better get this over and done with... ~

"What is it that you wish to tell me?" ~ She asks softly ~

Beginning to get extremely nervous...Larry began to question himself...but sinc he started this, he had to tell her...

"Mistral...there is alot going on right now. I mean, we have been through tremendous obstacles and are now finding ourselves painting a tavern wall, of all things! There is still much out there that has not been done. For one, Maverick has seen fit to call me his enemy, and challenge me. You have just come out of an ordeal yourself with some mental pains...and now Kaz has gone again...and well...I am wondering if times are too unsure and difficult to think of any future we might have together. Will it be in great hardship? Will we be blessed with peace? I do not know the future. Yet, I am willing to try. I am willing to risk everything I have for your protection and the feelings we have for each other. I would ask you...how do you feel in these days of great trials?"

Listening to Larry express all his doubts, she begins to feel the stirrings of a similar melancholy. She gives a sigh ~ And yet, that is not all he said... he does care for me a lot... ~

Turning to him, she replies carefully ~ "Never will there be a day when my past does not come back to haunt me. I'm afraid, Larry... afraid and worried for myself, as well as for you... I suppose the right thing would be for me to leave you... but I just can't..." ~ She breaks off abruptly, gazing into his green eyes ~

All this time, Sephi and Jaclyn have been watching the events unfold as intently as they can while waiting for the show to begin. When Larry had finally gotten to the point, Sephi remarked to Jaclyn I didn't do it like that, did I?
Well... it wasn't much better if it was. But hey, you didn't throw up!
Thanks alot... He just kept watching, waiting for an opportune time to stand up and shout something out.

His words crash over her like a tidal wave, and her mind begins to spin. ~ After all that talk... he is still proposing to me?... It doesn't make sense... ~ Yet her heart is swelling with unbearable happiness. She trembles and looks up, staring into his glittering eyes and swallowing a gulp.

Suddenly, all logic is hateful and immaterial and she replies firmly ~ "Yes!" ~ Tears begin to roll uncontrollably down her cheeks, and she feels strangled by joy and elation.

"Yes!" ~ She repeats, bewildered by her sudden sobbing.

If you were joking about my actual way of proposal as being more silly than romantic, then [img]tongue.gif[/img] ...sorry...I am just trying to figure out now how I am going to tell my wife that I have a new friend coming over to play...permanately!

Larry takes Mistral into his arms, and holds her tight. He cannot believe that he did it! He actually got the words out! releasing her, he fumbles with getting the ring out of the box to place it on her finger.

"Er...this is a special diamond. It comes from the Sea of Moving Ice, and is mined by Firbolgs that live up that far North. It is found only on a Glacier that is near the mainland up there. It has the ability to absorb and hold a single contingency of spells of any level. It can be released much like a wand would work. I hope you like it..."
