Hehe Tracey, nobody told you about auction , me too *sight*. I quit generally before 4, 5 pm east european time (and at university I have free Internet ). I wanted to check Sunday but our server UPS batteries crashed, (and thats why Monday evening server was closed - for administartion purposes and they changed UPS or whatsever)

Ah Silver Cheetach, pronounciation... I have written Tracey before that Zbyszek is like Tom - shorter or softer form. In my papers I have Zbigniew, but all friends tell me Zbyszek, so lets try
I am not entirely sure how to write it (like in dictionary - I am lazy). But lets start you spell z like zet, so keep z from zet, b like be, keep b from it, the problem comes here y is pronounced differently, something like i in word bit.
Ok I have found dictionary (I have win over my laziness!): Z like in zebra, b like in bit, y like i in bit, sz like sh in shall, e like e in ten, k like c in cat.
Official form, Zbigniew: Zb like above, i like ea in neat, g like in go, [soft] n (hard is in nook), e like in ten, w is read like v in vat.

He, he are you able to do it fluently? Maybe I will record it and send/post on my page. I have say (proudly) I am able to say almost fluently Fljotsdale! but not sure if it is correct - have no idea about icelandic pronounciation .

The biggest problem you can have with multiple consonants . Do you know that in czech there are words without vowels? like vlk = wolf.

Lets say it together: Zbyszek

Zbishek. Hm. It's the zb combination that is difficult for English speakers! Hm. But, thinking about it, it isn't much different than 'sp' in 'spell. 'Sp' is a soft sound and 'Zb' is a hard sound. Yeah! I can do this!
Great!
I don't know the correct Icelandic pronunciation of Fljotsdale, either!

Could be I guess, I have put some pronunciation on my web page. Click here Right now samples have poor quality - 8 bits, MONO. I will try some better software, but my microphone was added free to my modem so lets say its quality is not high.

Hey, thats great! Thanks Zbyszek! You have a nice voice.
Your pronunciation of Cieszyn & Scoczov are a little different from my ex-husband's, but I guess that is due to the different dialect of the area. His was a farming community, and he admitted that they used both words and accent not not used elsewhere in Poland. Poles we met at the Birmingham Polish Club used to laugh at his accent!
