ooc: TAO asked me to post for her character while she sorts through her PC problems. While I will make very effort to be as true to her character as possible in my posting, I will not be so foolish as to even attempt copying TAO’s writing style.
KayLisa Greywolf She has not been here long when it reaches her. Pain. The pain of a great and noble soul. The pain of a life screaming in helpless outrage and despairing agony. A terrible and unrelenting pain. The pain of a life bereft of hope. So great is the pain that her own heart threatens to burst under its weighty touch, for this pain which screams to her from out of the very earth upon which she stands is the pain of a friend. More terrible still, she thinks as the pain forces her to lean heavily against one of the great stones of this sacred place, is the muting of this pain into a blasphemous silence, the numbing and the stilling even of the voice of outrage and the cry of despair. Blasphemous indeed is a crime such as this, so terrible it would seem to desecrate even the one who hears of it. She presses her hands against the great stone, finding desperate comfort in its strength and reassurance in the holiness of this place whose boundary it marks. She weeps for a moment, sobbing quietly against the stone over the loss of her friend. There is no time for fitting grief, however, for creatures such as the banewolves allow no time for such things, and death once it sets to hunting allows the living but scant room within which to think. A fierce silver glint burns in her eyes as she steps into the center of the grove and calls her wolves to herself. She will see to the protection of her pack and then she will prepare herself for what must come. If her friend cannot be fittingly mourned, then, perhaps, he can be fittingly avenged....... |

This post took alot of decisive consideration, while trying to remain unbiased against any particular party.
Actions The skeleton was ready to deal the final hit to Marcos that would surely kill him, even as the Inquisitor was breaking out of the effects of the Stun spell. However, Vincent had become freed from that same spell only a short moment ago and was now charging forth with all his power that he might save the man who was about to die by the blade of a skeletal servant of an evil mage. He slammed into the skeleton at the moment that the undead was going to strike, but was stopped just shy of delivering the strike. But Vincent did not stop there. His momentum kept him moving, shoving the pile of animated bones with him. Just a few feet away, Silt and Kynnen played at the deadly battle at elf vs. dark elf. Yet this day belonged to the mage, Andrion. It was he who had the tremendous power granted to him by his dark master. It was he that held the fate of this battle in his hands, for he was nearly unstoppable by this group of would-be heroes. He already had the words to the spell on his lips before this round had begun, and now it was time to unleash it. Andrion casts: Chain Lightning. Results: *Vincent was primary target. Shock Total: 36 The flash of white fiery pain came racing at him even as he was racing at it while carrying the cargo of a skeleton with him, but not seeing the attack even coming. The bolt stopped Vincent in his tracks, electricuting him where he stood. But the hungry snake of white lightning did not stop there. From Vincent's shocked body it snaked out to all others, finding them where they stood, dealing them the kiss of electricution. Skeletal Chieftan: Shock Total: 25 Marcos: Shock Total: 20 Marcos is dead. Silt: Shock Total: 15 Kynnen: Save vs. spells: Unaffected The lightning bounced off the door knob, then sought after its next victim. Andrion: Shock Total: 9 OOC>>>I will stop there, as second ed. only allows for everything to get shocked once, as I am told,,,but 1st ed. allows for the spell to keep going, starting back at the top of the list again until its reached 1d6, but it also would have allowed me to hit 17 objects and starting at 17d6...so bow to me, he who grants you another chance to live this day. The Skeletal Chieftan
The skeleton that had been summoned was probably the least affected by the blast, even though it sustained considerable damage. It had been attacked, and it knew enough to know which character had attacked it. This was the new enemy. The one that had grabbed it was no longer restraining it. It had full ability to turn and start wobbling back toward the blue flaming invisible mage. It still had its rusty sword, which now sought after mage blood. |

For Larry and his bodyguard
"I see." Heavy words from a heavy woman, and so too was her heart. "We understand," she added after several seconds. Though she feared she did not. Perched atop the leaning tower, a faded banner snapped in response to the passing air. "There are those who believe death is a right of the living. That a man or woman who is beyond the care of the priests should be left to enjoy eternal rest. Most are abandoned before then, because of high rates or, as here, the absence of the healers. We have given many to the marches who might still live in a city." "I am sure that he would see you dead for the disrespect, as much as the magic you used, even if you were judged unaccountable for the devestation you wrought in the past. It would appear death awaits down every path ahead of you." She turned back to the bath and there was a sound of something snapping. "Do you believe she will be there waiting for you?" |

Guests for dinner
The scene was a gruesome one. Coming from nowhere, killing in the blink of an eye. Four pairs of eyes watched mesmerized as their captain sank to the ground. The spell was only broken when the creature pranced ahead. Wellin dropped his chair, the furniture bouncing harmlessly off an armored foot. Beside him, Lex began to back away. Seeing the two flaming tablelegs in his hands, and noting his own were sadly empty, Wellin hurried to put the bearded man between himself and the woman. He heard a low wail come from the other end of the room, lamenting the recent death, but Wellin was too occupied with the terror in front. While his friend held up the flames, crossed, as though that would ward them, they backed away. Don't run, he knew. His uncle was now a kennelmaster with the Duke's army. They attack when you run. They smell your fear. Don't run. Look them in the eyes. Looking out from behind Lex, his attempt to outstare the werebeast didn't last a second. Slowly, as sheep with the dog around, the four guards started to converge around one of the set tables. ooc: I'm assuming the pounce was a feint to shake them, rather than a full-out attack. Correct me if otherwise. |

ooc: and because I did promise three posts
The late Marcos of Snowdale - Dead/Dead Years of training, years of practice, years of experience. He had been grown for one purpose only. Magic was no tool meant for the wicked, and wicked were many of its users indeed. One by one, he had put them and their allies to rest. It was a calling not meant for any person. It required discipline and a calculating mind, daring and perfected combat techniques. Most of all, it required manners and networking, the gateway to information, the tool to victory. Faces passed by. Some were strangers, a few he could name. Trisia, Joram... he sent Elinda his thoughts. His father looked on, a crack in his stern demeanour. The inquisitor had not planned on dying today, but when you are told to battle the modding mage, it should come as no surprise. A pity then it was at the hand of a man who wished to see Silverfall dead, for with more patience, he might well have gotten his way in a lawful manner without quite so many deaths. It was out of his hands now, like the hammer slipping to the floor. His hammer. Who would take it now, here? Was it a victory to have bought Larry time, now that he would be around no longer? He would only know for certain after hearing all of the facts. Others might well come, but it was out of his hands now. He died smiling despite the pain. It felt right, to fall here with the guards who had bled for him. |

Larry Silverfall 23/23
Larry was stunned by the response of the woman. He did not really know what she was getting at. "Lady Duchess...there is always hope, and since I am personally familiar with the manner in which I lost my wife, I know in my heart that she deserves to live. I will bring her back from the grave...and she will live again. Death does not have to be at the end of all paths I choose. Indeed, this path that I have chosen will be a new life! I think your own loss has blinded you to the right to happiness of others. I am sorry if I speak harsh words. Do not blame me that I cannot bring your husband back. Instead, seek out those that did this to him and make them answer for their crime." [ 02-08-2005, 11:15 AM: Message edited by: Larry_OHF ] |

Nanashi
She watched the two men in front of her squirm with the anticipating horror that she radiated with but a smile. Two other men had sounded out audible alarms at the scene unfolding in front of her. Nanashi drank it all up like a fine wine. It was intoxicating to have this much power over the hearts of these men. She stepped closer still, but then stopped not a few feet from them even as they began to gather behind a set of tables. "Now...which one of you wants to be left alive? I shall grant this blessing to the first to tell me where Larry Silverfall is." |

Andrion Wilgor 10/40
One down, two to go. And then he spotted the skeleton marching at him. Make that three he thought to himself. Since Silt still seemed to be busy with Kynnen and Vincent had to get up from the ground, the skeleton seemed to be the one, who could pose a threat to Andrion at the moment. Its lifeless sockets burned with hatred as the undead advanced on the mage, but a spell was already being cast. "Orbus Chromaticus" - he said pointing an invisible finger at the skeleton. OOC: spell is chromatic orb. [ 02-08-2005, 11:32 AM: Message edited by: dplax ] |

Attack on Skel E. Ton
The orb flew at the skeleton, and the spell shattered the bones to mere splinters. Skeleton destroyed. We're now waiting to see what Silt, Kynnen, and Vincent do in this round. I advanced your spell to be cast because there was no reason to wait, since your move did not affect any player. You still have to wait until the next round to move again. |
