Able decides to consult his knowledge of necrology to see if there are any undead creatures which might make noises such as the ones around them. He slows his walking pace and begins to run his thumb over the few hairs on his chin while keeping his index finger curled with its knuckle just below his lower lip.

The howls were disconcerting. The forest was acting strangely.

"Can any of you recognize the creature which could make these sounds?"

Kairiona shakes her head as they get closer "No, I can't" The pixie hides behind the monk who drops to a ready stance and shakes his head no.

Two shadow wolves bust out, but unlike most shadows, they're solid. Kairiona starts a chant as the monk yells a kiai and rushes one. They are closing rapidly however.

Verrion Sieg 12/12

Verrion readies his shield and rapier, and turns toward the closest shadow wolf, waiting for it to strike. "Come, beast, and end your life!" The creature's red eyes circled around Verrion for a few seconds before leaping towards him, and Verrion set his weapon so that the fiend would impale itself on it.

OOC: I really really hope this isn't the kind of shadow creature that has level drain, because with partymembers at level 1 that would be a problem to say the least.

Drusalia 11/11

Drusalia snatched her bow off her back and put an arrow in it. She looked around for an opportunity to shoot.

OOC: if she sees an opportunity to shoot she will do so. I shall be away for about five days, so if needed control my character.

Able hides behind the others and begins to chant the incantation for Cigotuvi's skeletal minions.

IC : Vernon's blade imaples the shadow and it goes back howling, serious damage dealt to it. Abel feels squirrels dropping nuts on him, dealing him 1 HP damage and interuppting his spell. A shower of nuts falls on another wolf, dealing it moderate damage and knocking it out. The third one takes a spell from Kairionia and Drusalia's arrow pierces it, falling back nearly dead.

Drusallia fits another arrow onto her bow and shoots at the nearest shadow which is still alive.
