For Turin's group:
The barkeep wanted to say more things to Roland, but could not as a dozen or so armed men came into the inn. Their leader a man clad in much shinier armor than the rest of them, and bearing a huge almost two meter long two handed sword looked around the room and then finally spotting the elf and the group which had brought him in he motioned to his men to spread out along the inn, in case the elf wanted to escape and then walked up to the group. The inkeep pointed a hand at Turin showing he was the leader of the group. "I am the captain of Lord Easthome's guard force. It has been brought to my attention that you have brought an elven prisoner."-he said pointing at Therlion."We shall take the prisoner now. Lord Easthome will speak to you in an hours time for your reward and some other business." Two of his men were approaching Therlion to take him. "You elf! I prefer if you come quietly, although I would have no bad feelings whatsoever should we have to kill you." |

For Kirun and Bober:
After some drinking in the pub where there wer mostly humans and orcs along with a few dwarves they asked directions for the combat pits. At the entrance to the combat pits there were two half-orcs. One of them looked at them and seeing that they were well equipped for combat asked them: "Will it be to fight or to spectate? We have some very good combats coming up. Hehehe. I look forward to seein them. If you onlly watch you pay a gold each. Taking part is free and if you win you get a tenner. Hehehe. I like the fights here. So what shall it be?" His companion added:"Yeah what shall it be?" |

For the two captive elves:
An hour or two could have passed, or even more since they had been locked up, they could not tell. They had tried talking, but guards of various races at different times promptly told them to shut up. It was completely dark in the corridor and their elven eyes could barely see the walls on the other side. All the other cells were empty, it seemed that either the prisoners were elsewhere or they were the only ones. A door creaked in the distance at the end of the passageway. A light entered the darkness. It hurt their eyes. Footsteps could be heard coming towards their cells. A group of orcs led by a giant orc, almost human size appeared in front of their cells. Eight orcs accompanied him. "I am called Hurshakh. You shall know me very well before you die. If you are lucky enough to die and don't go to the slave pits. I am the torturemaster here. One of you shall be taken to be tortured for imformation now. One of the human guards has told me that he senses magic over you."-he said pointing at Terias."We know how to handle your kind here. Take him." After opening the cage five orcs took him down the opposite way they had come down the passageway. They went through several doors, until they reached a large chamber where several prisoners seemed to be standing amongst a throng of guards. He was shackled together with a human. All the other prisoners were shackled together in pairs. They stood in front of a gigantic door. They waited for hours standing there, but eventually the door opened and through it Terias could see an immense arena with several doors like theirs all around it. Spectator stands could also be seen high up. A mace was suddenly thrust in his hand by one of the orcs. He heard his human companion whispering:"What are you good at?" He had a short sword and a shield strapped to his wrist. Meanwhile the rest of the orcs at the cells had grabbed Feldorn and were taking him the opposite direction as Terias had been taken. They went through three doors and then reached a small chamber which had various torture devices in it. Feldorn was strapped to a wooden bench and Hurshakh started to work on him. For hours Feldorn's shreeks of pain echoed in the chamber. All of his fingers were broken on his hands and on his feet, he was burnt, slashed, whipped, but still he would not speak, he would not give up imformation. "As much as I am enjoying this, unfortunately I have to stop now."-said his tormentor. The door opened and a creature of shadow stepped in. A wraith it seemed to Feldorn. Fear struck him, a fear he did not now was possible. He started praying to his gods. The shadow figure murmured incantations, and the gradually but getting stronger and stronger he felt a desire to speak to this shadow creature. Half an hour later he was transferred back to a different cell where he was just thrown in. In the cell were a human and two elves. They cared for him and they were the ones who saved his life, since the injuries inflicted upon him had been grave. They told him that they were the ones, who after interrogaton had to put the prisoners back into shape for work in the quarries far below. |

Turin
Turin stood and walked between the elf and the commander. "Now I really must interject here...for I know a bit about fare trades and the like. I think it would be in our best interest if we were to receive the money at the same time as the trading of the elf here. Anything less, and it would be risky for my step-sister and step-brother and me. We need the money, and cannot part with the elf until we have made an agreement on the price." Turin was really beginning to panic now. He had not expected things to get so tough all the sudden. Maybe one of the others had a plan on how to save their companion. Until one of them did, Turin had to stand his ground with what he had. If it came down to fighting, he hoped to be able to identify who were the allies of Morgoth beforehand. He must not fail the mission! OOC>>Take note...Turin does not yet know what Roland wanted to tell him. |

For Turin's group:
The captain motioned his men to stand still, as he pondered what Turin had said"I see. However Lord Easthome has requested to see the elf now. And he is not to be trifled with. Also he does not wish to see you and your step-sister and step-brother until later. I can give you ten gold pieces now and you shall get the rest later from Lord Easthome." He handed a small pouch of coins to Turin. "Now kindly hand over your captive." OOC: Note the captain is still friendly to the group however it seems that he fears disobeying orders more than a confrontation with Turin and co. |

Terias was feeling very awkward by the time the orcs dragged him down to the pit, since he wasnt very skilled in weapon combat, except for his staff. His skill with the staff was not very exceptional and wouldnt do much against a sword or a mace. He though about enchanting his staff more than once during the trip down to the pit.
When he heard the little man ask him what he was good at, Terias first thought of making something up but then, he realized that this man was just another prisoner like him. So he didnt mind telling him the truth " I m not really skilled in weaponry, except for my staff, which would of course not do much against a sword or a mace. But perhaps i can enchant the weapon that they handed me, and make it behave like a staff..." He would definately want to do that, but he didnt have the time or the right place to do that...

For Terias:
"You are a mage?"-said the man chained to him a bit disbelievingly. "That should help in the battle to come." He was just about to add something else, but the orc guards suddenly started pushing them towards the entrance. As the last prisoners passed the door it was closed behind them with a heavy thud. In the arena there was nearly total silence. It seemed that everyone in the stands was anxiously waiting for the combat to start. There were altogether fifteen pairs of prisoners. None of them knew what they would have to affront, as Terias's companion explained it to him, it could be anything from wild animals to humanoids. The silence was pierced by a creak as a large door, much larger than the one they had come through opened on the opposite side of the pit. The tension as to what was going to come through the door could be felt. The silence was suddenly over as the crowd started cheering. Evidently they already saw what was coming. A trolls head appeared in the doorway and then its whole body. Three more followed. All had large clubs with them. Some of the pairs of prisoners moved into more advantegous positions as the trolls approached. Terias's companion turned to Terias and said: "Damn it. Four trolls. Your weapon will be useless here. I suggest that when the trolls get here you use your magic. I shall try to cover your back." One of the pairs who was in front of them charged on one of the trolls. The elf on the left was crushed by one swing of the club. The force of the swing lifted his body and sent him and the man he was chained together with flying ten meters backwards. Another one of the trolls was approaching Terias and his companion. "Now do something!"-the man shouted. [ 04-21-2004, 07:04 AM: Message edited by: dplax ] |

Kirūn elbowed Bober. "Aye, what will it be? I'd say let's watch a round or three beforehand. How about it?"

"Two gold pieces then. You can get the drinks inside. The fight in the large arena has already started. The two small ones shall start in ten minutes. Enjoy."
The half-orc opened the door, and then closed it behind them as they entered. At the end of a rather short passageway was a room with a few tables and chairs in it. A man sat at one of the tables. "Drinks?"-he asked as they approached him. Behind him on the wall two roughly painted signs said main arena and small arenas, with arrows pointing in opposite directions. |
