Rhianneth
With a final breath for courage, she lifted her right leg and placed it on the first step. Then raised her left leg, and ascended the next ~ Find them before you lose them. ~ Nodding to nobody in particular, she continued on her path, up the flight of steps, all the while hearing the three voices. They appeared to be clearer than earlier, although still distant. When at last she had reached the end of the ascent, she saw that her captors had left her little room for choice. ~ Right it is, then. ~ Half-grimacing, she followed the corridor and continued northward, her ears and eyes on full defensive. After a few steps, however, she slowed her pace as she noticed the growing dimness ahead. Courage, Rhianneth. Courage. ~ She took another breath, and tiptoed forward. |

She suddenly winces, going to her knees as an incredulous feeling washes over her, and she howls screaming into the wind.
As the feeling subsides, she turns looking at Aracades with eyes glowing an impossible purple/silver, "We must go. The wolves will be closing in, and the giants know what I did. Something has just happened in the forums also, and I fear that we are in great peril know. We must find a place to hide, where I can think..." |

Saithele Quickly scouring the area, Saithele and Brendon scouting (ooc: if that's ok with you Larry), Wyrd could defend the females physically and magically and psychicly they were a match for most of the inhabitants. Their scouting had revealed nothing, but their skill in stealth easily kept them out of the hands of nefarious denizens of these deep realms. Returning to the women the elf reported that there was no way down, speaking first in elven, and then in the more uncomfortable common tongue, the sounds were so abrasive compared to the sweetly musical elven tongue, not as harsh as the dwarven tongue, or that of the orcs or other goblinoids. How he longed to leave these realms to their fate and leave for the cool canopies of the forests, but his duty was to the stragglers he had joined, and the female elf's life was much more valuable than even his own, so his extensive training had taught, his duty was to die in defense of elves, perhaps if he managed to take down Terrakis, or this Hunger that Brendon spoke of his exile might be curtailed, but he would not request such a boon of his kind, nor would he ask anyone else to request such a favor, he would fulfill his duty and do the best he could. "There is no exit to the lower levels from here, perhaps if we return up to the next level we can find another cavern," barely waiting for a response he begins walking back towards the hole that emptied them into this level. |

ooc Cyril, thanks for giving me some new ideas to keep morguerat fresh, I was losing the ability to keep him interesting to me, as well as to write him interestingly.
Morguerat The wandering never ended, but everything was different in the gloom (or so he thought, he had given his mind back over to the swirling chaos and so wouldn't have noticed if he was walking past the same boulder over and over again) He had passed down a few levels when his mind felt a massive convulsion from the very fabric of the forums, entire species were being wiped from the forums in the time it took to read a single post, the psychic backlash struck the unnamed former knight like a jackhammer, instantly the fog broke and cleared, the claws digging into his mind were revealed in an instant. With a grim smile Morguerat also knew that the deaths of countless "monsters" had given him his freedom and he felt immense joy for their involuntary aid, the Hag he saw just beyond his mind's eye seemed cautious now, and had mostly retracted her influence. Morguerat, his name had been, he knew this now, but this was the name of a warrior who fought against injustice, that man was dead, buried in his bitterness and loss, the Reaper emerged from the shattered ashes of the man he had been, his eyes turned black as he felt the powers his heart called to answer him, and called to their new champion, the first Anti-paladin to patrol the forums in their history. OOC: Larry should I RP the "discussion" between Reaper and the Hag or do you want to do that, also Reaper has been wandering some time, so I'll leave it up to you to decide where he is now (he was heading downward but other than that it's up to you) |

Rhianneth
To her growing amazement (and a fair bit of suspicion), her way ahead was unhampered by even a stray insect; each step brought no physical encounters, except the increasing loudness of the voices, or echoes of voices. Her heart told her it was no coincidence that her path should be so unhindered; there was a force in place, but as yet, she could not tell who was behind this pleasant aid. Each step brought her nearer to her targets, yet the uncomfortable feeling that she might be being watched could not be shaken off. For what seemed like several years, she treaded on, her steps becoming less guarded as she tried to yield to the false aura of safety, if only to reach Brendon and the rest quickly before they were lost. Finally... finally... Heaving a sigh of relief as she detected the breathing and faint light, she hurried forward and hissed out. "Brendon, it's me." ~ She exhaled worriedly ~ "Rhianneth." |

He and Saithele stopped and stared in shockedness. The last they had heard (or seen) of Rhianneth, she had been a statue, taken away by Terrakis. Now she was here, and safe?
"In the name of the great cat Choc...how the hell did you manage that?" Brendon did not even bother being quiet anymore. He figured that if she came from the direction that they were heading...the area was clear. |

Arcades nods solemly, hearing the distant howls of the banewolves. He lifts Kaylisa onto his back and takes to the air, noticing momentarily a band of Dwarves near the ley lines, carrying a haul of dark stones.
The great gold dragon takes Kaylisa to a series of caves in the side of a mountain, overlooking the lines from a safe distance, and lets his passenger off. Kaylisa, did you see those dwarves taking stone from the ley lines? |

"Mo chreach!!"She whispers upon the wind, and looks over the ley lines from their landing spot. Her eyes slowly start to narrow as she takes in all the information she can quickly. Going to her knees, she pulls her pack off, and begins digging through it, methodically placing items on the ground in front of her as an idea begins to form...
"Arcades, we must first rid ourselves of these banewolves. I have an idea, but I need to make sure this will work...In the mean time, tell me what you know about the stone that forms underground below the ley lines, and why the dwarves and giants would be moving it?" |

Rhianneth
"I'll explain later." Her thankful eyes abruptly resumed their troubled look ~ "Did you hear the commotion that broke out only just a few minutes ago? It spells danger." Nodding briefly at the others ~ "We have to do something, anything but stand around here idly." ~ There was a sense of urgency in her voice, as she glanced about nervously, half-expecting them to be pounced upon by half a dozen magical beasts. "Lead, Brendon, and I will follow." |

Brendon
"I am sorry Rhianneth, but you leave too much to be understood. We are on our way to kill Terrakis and his merry band of giants...and you have not given me any reason to think that I should do otherwise. In fact...you have not even given me reason to trust that you are on our side. What can you tell me to pro...?"...Wait a minute...Ruby! Could you come here for a moment?" Brendon turned and looked at the two girls in the back, waiting for Ruby to step up. If he ever needed a psych...it would be now.
