Are you going to add Aerie options? (weilds a tool kit) it's okay, I'm ready for the high-maintenance girl!

Yeah, Kaltia. I have even less of a clue about her, since she never goes with my party, and I had Jah at least through the Underdark. How about:
Aerie: "(Charname), can I have a word with you?"
1. "Sure, Aerie, what are we going to talk about."
2. "Not now, Aerie, I'm really busy."

If 1.> "(Charname), I have grown accustomed to sleeping near you, reaching out to touch you if I felt frightened. But now, your little Imoen is sleeping next to you every night, and even if I am sleeping on the opposite side, I feel like I am intruding. Can't you make her sleep by herself, so it can be like it used to be?"

Imoen: "Hey, little fairy-girl, what are you asking him? Are you afraid to ask me to my face? Well, I'll tell you, I like to sleep next to (Charname), and I don't think that he minds. He and I go back a *lot* further than you ever thought about."

Aerie: "But you are his sister, are you not? And I had been thinking...hoping...that I was becoming more than a comrade to him. Can't you give us a little time together?"

Imoen: "Well, *I'm* not going to sleep by myself and have nightmares all night long about that man and Bodhi, just so you can flirt with him, unless he says. What about it, (Charname), who do you want to sleep next to, her or me?"

1. Imoen, you are my sister, but I think that I am become more than just fond of Aerie. Perhaps you should sleep by yourself.
2. Aerie, I am sorry if I gave you the wrong impression, but Imoen and I are very close, much more so than you. Just leave her alone.

I'd like to get a little more of the "exasperated lamb" in it for Aerie, but what do you think?

That's very good! you got most of her personality...even down to the whining. Personally I find Aerie "so high maintenance she should come with an instruction manual" but still, you got her perfectly there.

May I just say that I am absolutely DELIGHTED about the fact I'll be able to have a same-sex romance with Imoen?!

Anyways, back to the new direction of the topic:

About the Viconia discovering Imoen & Protagonist sleeping beside each other... I find Viconia's romance dialogues to be very unpredictable, and it's always very hard to know what you have to say to her. Perhaps, if you expect her to blow up and get angry, she'd be more likely to say something like, "Well, well, well.. what do we have here...? It seems I've finally discovered the source of your unattentiveness to me as of late. And here I was, thinking I'd managed to find the only frigid (male/female) in all of Amn..."

Pretty good, Asyncha, but Viconia has known about the PC and Imoen sleeping together since the rescue. That is in the dialog during the very first part of the Romance - she asks to sleep in his bedroll and he agrees. That's why I had her proposition him to get her away. And yes, she is unpredictable - la donna e' mobile. Part of her considerable charm.
Attalus has suggested the following change in the Aerie dialog:
Imoen: "Now you listen here, Miss Aerie-Fairy. If you have something to say about me, say it to my face. I happen to like sleeping next to (charname) and I am going to continue until he tells me otherwise. Don't you come simpering around here and try to come between him and me - we go back a *lot* farther than you can know."

Which I like better than mine, so I will use that.

Hmmm.. looks like there'll be lots of sexual tension in the m/f protagonist/Imoen dialogues. I love sexual tension! ...it's just a pity I couldn't ever bring myself to roleplay a male character ^.^ It's much too much fun being a lesbian.

I still read the BGII novel for it's reference to attraction between women... and the cute things Imoen says/does.
"She should have at least been able to seduce women--gods do that, don't they?" (LOL~) Which rings very character true to me... ala her musings about dryads and archmages etc. She seems to have a very active imagination despite her terrible ordeals.

Anyways, I'm majorly majorly off topic. I blame it on my eagerness to play the patch-to-be

Glad to know that you are looking forward to it. Here's a taste of how it starts:
The scene, Asylum dungeon, the first time that you rest after Imoen re-joins your party.
A.(party readies to sleep for the first time in Spellhold Dungeon.)
Imoen: Uh, (char), if we're going to sleep now, can I ask you a question?
1.Imoen, I'm tired, and we need to rest. Can't we talk about this later?> go to dialog screen B
2.Oh, hush up , Imoen, I'm tired of your whining.> terminate romance
3.Sure, Imoen, what's on your mind? >go to dialog screen C

B.Imoen. Oh,, I guess. I'll remind you, later.> After one hour of game play, go to dialog screen E

C.Imoen: I just wanted to know if I could sleep next to you. I've missed you so much, and the only thing that got me through all that torture was the thought that you were out there and were coming to get me.
1. No, Imoen, go sleep by yourself. >terminate romance
2. Sure, Imoen, just lay your bedroll next to mine. > go to dialog screen D.

D. Imoen: Uh, well that's kinda it. Irenicus didn't exactly issue me a bedroll. Yours looks big enough for two. Can I get in there with you? Like we used to in Candlekeep?
1. Imoen, you want to sleep in my bedroll? Not a chance. > terminate romance
2. Imoen, you don't need to do that. Here, I've got a spare. Sleep there.> go to dialog screen. F
3. Sure, Imoen, hop right in.> Romance initiates. After 1 hour of game play, go to dialog screem G. If another Romance is active, go to Dialog screen Gae, Gan, Gj, or Gv
E. Have you thought about having a little chat?
1. Yes Imoen, I have thought about it, and I don't think so. > romance terminates
2. Yes Imoen, I have thought about it. You can go right ahead.> go to dialog screen C.
3. No, Imoen, I haven't had time to think about listening to your whining. >romance terminates

F. Imoen: Well, that's thoughtful of you, but the point is, I really want to be next to you, and know that you are there. You know, cuddle. I have been so miserable for so many nights that I'd like to pretend that things were like they were before, when we were girls at Candlekeep.
1. Cuddle with you? No way. We're grown, now, and I sleep by myself, except with men. > Romance terminates.
2. Cuddle with you? Sure. I think you'd be having nightmares, after all of that you went through.> Romance initiates. After 1 hour of game play, go to dialog screen G; If another Romance active, go to Dialog screen Gae, Gan, Gj, or Gv.

OMG, this is going to renew the playability of BGII, I'm telling you. I am DYING to play this patch. If I erect a shrine and start praying to you will the patch get developped faster?

(praying) We´re not worthy, we´re not worthy...

Seriously, though, this does look great. Keep up the excellent work!

Say, Asynca, does Imoen really show interest in other women in the novels? I´ve never read them.

************ BGII NOVEL SPOILERS************

Well, I've only read the one, the one by Philip Athans. I've heard much criticism about it (that it's an excuse for eroticism, that it strays too far from the game plot, that the main character is too 'perfect' and thus not very likeable) which I find mostly true... except for one problem. I really enjoyed it. Imoen, who in her usual facination with 'fairy tale' creatures is compelled by the drow and sleeps with Phaere. The author before that gave small clues throughout the book to her sexuality. (aka, after Irenicus winked at her while he was torturing some such creature, "Men, Imoen thought. Bastards." Plus erotisized Bohdi made sense since vampires are often, often described to lure their victims with the promiced of sex and upon orgasm to bite them. In my opinion, the novel had many problems but I still enjoyed muchly

I've been attempting to write epic fanfic, but I doubt it will ever even get posted on the web, because I can't ever get past having the female protagonist and Imoen bonding to the point of a sexual relationship. Plus my party is usually just women, and the men complain that it's an inefficient and fairly weak party because the skills of the women in BGII are limited. Which is true... The only reasonable female tank is Mazzy. The rest of the women are somewhat useful in battle but certainly in trouble in dead magic zones. All in all, I'm not sure I want to write something that would have very limited appeal and be read only by a very few. Plus I'm sure I would get many, many flames from people accusing me of being a man-hater and all sorts of things they know nothing about, simply because I choose to have an all-women party.

---------------------
another sub topic of the topic....
---------------------

I wanted to comment on the rape of Imoen by Irenicus. To me, there was no question that he raped her. I had no doubt in my mind at all until I mentioned it in passing to a male friend of mine that got me into BGII. He looked at me incredulously and asked me what evidence I had for my assumption. There is, actually, scant but existing evidence for it. The dryads (who admitted they functioned as Irenicus's harem) saying to Imoen, "He touched you as he did us, didn't he?" and Imoen saying something to the effect that 'he did to me what he wanted to do to his wife'.
Basically, it's a feeling I got with the whole series of dialogues. I found every female I know who plays BGII (only three.. but still) all independantly came to the conclusion that Imoen had been raped. Does it seem strange to anyone that most of the women pick up on the rape but the men don't seem to? I find this womens' hypersensitivity to other womens' experiences and feelings an EXCELLENT reason for Imoen, a victim of awful atrocities, so seek the understanding and comfort of another woman.
