The weather here in Cologne has been really miserable for quite some time now: it is frigging cold and rainy.

No, sorry, I can't tell where you can get the English original version of computer games here in Germany. As a matter of fact, I'd love to know that myself. But if it is any consolation to you: the German version of BG II is better than one of BG I.

Cologne? hmmm, recently in German class we had to prepare a talk on a planned visit to Cologne... our activities and so forth...

LOL, yet another pointless story from Jerome.

It's simple. Once the Planet is hurt, it gathers Spirit Energy to heal the injury. The amount of energy gathered depends on the size of the injury...What would happen if there was an injury that threatened the very life of the Planet? Think how much energy would be gathered! Ha, ha, ha. And at the center of that injury, wil be me. All that boundless energy will be mine. By merging with the energy of the Planet, I will be come a new life form, a new existence. Melding with the Planet, I will cease to exist as I am now. Only to be reborn as a 'God' to rule over every living soul.

That's not exactly difficult, though. You'd really have to work at it for the German version to be worse than in BG I. Better than it means anything from really awful to great, I take it.
But... I think I'll miss some of the weirder parts. Jaheiras "oh omnipresent authoritative person" for instance, or the Saxon accent of Male Voice #3, never to mention Davaeorn. Always good for a few laughs.

The list is endless. *rant mode on* First off, the voices of the NPCs AND of your character make you a) laugh hysterically or b) throw the monitor out the window after a while. For instance, one of Jaheira's lines translates as "oh omnipresent authoritative person" or so. In the parts (like the part where Gorion got killed) where the people speak and you don't just read text, sometimes (alright often) the text they say isn't the text you read. The accents are horrific, Davaeorn had me laughing so bad I couldn't play for a few minutes. One of the parts I loved most - in the intro, there were two speakers. One pronounced 'Gorion' the German way, one the English way. BG 1 has been labeled "worst translation of all time" by a pc review magazine. The list goes on and on...
EDIT: oops, forgot to turn rant mode off *rant mode off*

Hiya, Kaz! Thanks, yeah Drow Warrior kinda snuck up on me. I'd like some coffee with cream and sugar. (since I don't like it in r/l, maybe I'll like it v/r)

Ramon, I slept better last night that I have the rest of the week. Still not back to normal, though. I toss and turn quite a bit. I don't remember if I dream anything, but I think I might be having nightmares. Just woke up from an afternoon nap, though, and that's MUCH better.

And you say you're cold, hon? Here, this'll warm you up...

btw, Kaz. I seem to remember that you said something about wanting to do an exchange next year. Is that correct? Have you gotten any further feedback from anyone on someone to host you? Where would you like to be while you are here?
