actually, it has a good replayability, plus, the multiplayer might be cool(havent tried it yet ). 1 question: Why do people call DS a fill-in game till the "real things"- NWN and IWD2 come out? ive heard that more than once but why? What does NWN have that DS doesnt have? i do think itll be better but calling DS just a fill-in game is a bit underestimating. actualy, before i posted a big topic about this into General Discussion, "thanks for posting" was written on the screen but i later found out that the post wasnt sent

Yeah, that's happened to me. I've learned to copy any big post before I submit it to the fates. As to why DS is regarded as a filler, well, June 22 is the date set for NWN to come out, which we have been more or less breatlessly anticipating for a year or more. This is the company that gave us BG, BGII, PS: T, which I believe that you are on record as calling the best of all time, IWD, and HOW. If you leave out the disappointing ToB, that's a string of solid, great games, and we are anticipating more of the same. I don't see anybody rushing to make a Multiplayer clan for DS, or pre-generating their characters. Compared to this, and remembering the letdown of PoR, we are a bit wary, is all. But if you likee it, great.

hmm.. good point ! but i dont think itll be as good as they say(though i sure hope so ). and galadria, why was ToB such a dissapointment to you? i think it was cool! is it because it has more killing and less thinking? if that is the problem, then why do you like IWD?
i dont know much about NWN. can you create your own worlds(just like in the Siege Editor, which comes out soon )? if anybody has the time and wants to link me to a site, which could make me more exited about NWN, please do !
btw, galadria, do you like diablo? hehe, before i played BGs(a long, long time ago ), my fav game company was Blizzard. i have played ALL the diablos, and loved them all! DS is almost like them but somehow, the Diablo games are just.. better. i like D2 more, though i dont know why . lol, i just realized that i also liked all the Bioware/Black Isle games more than DS. teehee, i guess its the inside(story, gameplay) that matters, not the outside(graphics). the monters in DS were a bit stupid too. so, this might sound a bit stupid but DS isnt as good as they say, because it didnt have the sweet stuff BGs and Torment had

Well, uss, I hate ToB not just for all the combat, though that certainly is an issue, but for several things. Most of all, I absolutely loathe the NPC endings, especially for my favorites, Viconia, Imoen, and Keldorn. More subtly, I don't really think a war as vast as the one that they depict would be solvable by six (or one!) people, no matter how powerful. Wouldn't it be more likely that you would form alliances, negotiate, a few selective assassinations, perhaps? More like...Planescape: Torment? I like IWD because it didn't pretend to be anything more than what it is, a dungeon crawl. No fooling around with a group of people, however imaginary, that I had come to care about a great deal. That is what I casn't forgive, at bottom.

(ToB SPOILER!!)
lol, the Viconia ending said that she went to the "good side" and helped ppl fight drow, even with Drizzt.
the reason why im saying this is that when i saw drizzt, he asked "are you friend or foe?", i answered "foe, prepare to die!", he thought i was a bandit and before i ripped out his heart and showed it to him, Vic said:"oh, this will be a glorious battle! killing him would be a great test of power, indeed!". i took that same character to ToB and reading that ending sure was funny ! and i havent finished ToB with Keldorn or Imoen. what endings did they have?
btw, thanks for raising my belief in NWN. what level are you now, in Ps:T? i think ill start playing it again ;

I know I didn't like the NPC ending much either. Anyhow USS you can create your own worlds, quests, weapons, CG cutsenes, (or so i've heard) and itmes, with the editor in NWN. It'll be as if you're DMing a P&P game. And you'll be able to play with 64 other people at once? Now tell me is there anything not cool about that?

Hey I could use a little advice, and for once it's not about a game. I'm graduating soon, real soon actually, and I haven't really decided what to do yet. I can't say i'm not annoyed by the fact that everyone keeps asking me. Is this a good or bad thing? (That I haven't decided *anything* yet?)

Red, I can't even get 3 people together at the same time to play a multi - 64 is just an unrealistic pipe-dream mate

Uss, the ending that you describe is the Unromanced one. If you successfully Romance her, she gets poisoned by an agent of Lloth!!! If you don't download the Ascension mod, she doesn't even see her baby!!! How fair is that? Especially compared to the endings of the other, lesser romances. Epona, I have an IWD group that plays every Sunday, for months. We have three, and would have four if Garnet weren't hors-de-combat. So, you and RBF join the IW NWN clan, and we'll have plenty of Multiplaying. My character, BTW, is an elven cleric named Viconia. , Bioware.
