LOL @ Garnet. I just got back from the grocery store and chased Attalus off the computer. Tonight, Chicken Paillard with Brussels Sprouts Cockaigne. Fresh blueberries and cream for dessert. It is still cool and clear, here, though thank heavens the wind has dropped. Cloudy, you can come over and relax and talk to Attalus out in the library while I make dinner. We have lotsa tea, though I warn you that I hear the cocktail shaker going.

(Hmmm, Galadria's house is closer than Elif's......)
YOu make me feel like a country bumpkin cook, girl! Budha is always calling dishes by their 'proper' names from his chef days...I rename them homely names. Re. kicking Attalus off the pc...but he was sharing his Oreos with me! Ya gotta love a man who shares chocolate |

Re: Attalus on the PC. I thought he was chuckling evilly about something, but I figured it was something about Waterdale. He can't have Oreos because he ate up all poor Will's stocking stuffers this Christmas.
Oh, I just call the dishes by their names because that's the way everybody understands them. Chicken Paillard are just boned chicken breasts pounded flat and brushed with melted butter, sprinkled with s&p, thme and sage, then saute'd in melted butter. Brussell Sprouts Cockaigne are jus Sprouts halved and braised in garlic butter. Come on over any time.

I know, but the dishes don't sound nearly as impressive when you don't use their fancy names, now do they .
Budha thinks it's funny about Attalus, the stocking stuffers and the Oreos.....I was trying to distill 'The Battle' at rp for him. I get the impression that he's convinced I lost my last marble along the way somewhere |

Yeah, you've got to have names to distiguish between the 14 or so chicken dishes that I can do. Tell Budha that we're just pretend-playing. I don't know if I ever told you about the first time that I heard that Attalus played D&D. The hospital nurses were shaking their heads about it, wondering why a grown man and a surgeon would waste his time doing such a thing. I was a medical student at the time, and so, the next time that I had to scrub in on one of his cases, I asked him about it. He acted amused, and asked me if I thought that he should be playing golf or something. I said honestly that I hated golf, so I could understand why he'd want a hobby (he was divorced at the time) He gave me an odd look, and asked if I would like to sit in on a game that he was DM'ing. I went, and I have been hooked ever since.

~Morning everyone!~
Winter storm watch tomorrow but today should be a whopping 40*! Possibly up to 6" by Sat. morn, tho . ReGiN, you could pop in anytime for supper. I don't promise anything fancy, but there's always plenty and only rarely not completely homemade . Puts on a fresh pot of coffee for everyone and scoots on over to rp... |

Good morning, good morning, good morning! It's a beautiful day in Texas, and we can all sing GOODBYE! TO FEBRUARY Regin, Garnet, big (hugs)! I just got back from my run and I feel great. Too bad Eternity doesn't come to the cafe, or I'd flit around with her.
