Would the last delegate out of the building please turn off the lights?

I've lost count of how many times I have said that the UN is archaic and unneeded in its current incarnation. The wise decision would be to disband it until someone comes up with a better idea.

Because the US used the security council violations as justification for the war and used security council resolutions to declare the war 'legal'.
You didn't answer the question skunk, you completely ignored what I said and asked, and replied with a non-sequitur...care to try again?

Edit: Note my attempt at using Latin since so many people think it popular

Very well.
Q: Why doesn't the UN take care of those problems?
A: Because the US uses its veto to block any further moves by the UN to take action.
For example:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/mid...st/1246837.stm
http://www.us-israel.org/jsource/UN/usvetoes.html

Apparently, the US doesn't mind when its allies brutally suppress, murder, torture rape and pillage civilian populations. Afterall, by propping up such allies, Americans get to be free of those things themselves.

Nice. Only problem with that way of working is that it drives people to hijack airliners...

So why, if they are so very very much offended by the Israeli actions, doesn't some brave rightious nation say screw the UN, we will do "the right thing" and put an end to this? Germany? France? Perhaps Belgium? Why not put together a coalition of morally rightious nations to go in and end this Israeli atrocity? Perhaps because the view you expound upon is not really very unbiased and isn't really believed by enough people in those morally superior nations? Thats just my guess. I support Israel in its self defense and in doing what it needs, because I know for a fact that the surrounding Arabs have repeatedly tried to commit genocide agaisnt them and to this day declare their desire to drive the Israeli's into the sea cleansing the Holy land of their infidel blood. I don't agree with every action mind you...but in their place, Id be doing the same thing....and so too would you....or you would be dead.

Edit: Your chart with UN resolution starts in the 1970's (after) two or 3 of the 4 unprovoked attacks by the surrounding arab nations against Israel, it also ignores the Yom Kippur War, and the Intifada and the PLO's terror actions, and Yassir Arafat leading the terrorists and trying to incite even more wars to eradicate the defiling jews from the sacred lands. All in all its a bloody mess,, and having to choose between Palistinians and the Israelis I choose the Israelis

Edit for corrections and gramer and infinite typo's

Because, to say "Screw the UN" would be to behave as a rogue nation.

*This* is the very reason why the US and the UK are currently the object of so much hatred across the world at the moment.

We are talking about the difference between law and order and 'mob rule'.

One can criticize the UN but the world is a better place with it than without it.

In a way it forces us to find ways to compromise and deal with each other. We may not like the waiting but we still must learn to deal, communicate, with each other as well as understand the differences of our different cultures.

Without the UN I have a feeling we would constantly be at war more so than not.
