Upon entering his room, Gus immediatley crossed his legs and lay on the floor.
He began meditation by casting empty mind on himself and then he developed the effigy of the void. That's odd... there was a sudden microscopic shift in the air in the palace, perhaps it was something perhaps it wasnt..." His resting period broke after just a few minutes.

"I can't stand sleep... It's such a little slice of death... hmmm... I wonder..."

Gus noticed he still bore the effigy of the void... "I could sneak around in the shadows and they'd think of me as nothing more than a dark pattern on the walls... hehe... It's time to do an exploration mission!"

With that, gus quietly opened his door and slipped though, not making a sound, due to the fact that the dead air around his body blocked noise, he was able to pass through the halls at a rather formidable pace. He didn't stop to even look at doors, or statues, or the patterns of the hallway. He simply ran to see where the halls would take him.

OOC: DMing for DK atm.

Gus's travels led him to the great hall; the place where Arlyth, Alaerth, Alae, Alliene & Sylquis had eaten their supper. The tables were now empty, and not a soul was around. There were several doors branching off from the room. Only one was open. Gus could see it lead down a well lit coridoor.

Gus proceeded downt his cooridor, despite an eerie feeling that it wasn't meant for him to go down there. The light in the cooridor made it particularly difficult for him to appear like a shadow, so he decided to just up and walk down the hall, despite it appearing that a sillouete was walking right down the middle of the cooridor.

The coridoor split into a "T-junction" at the end, with a further two passages. One was slightly darker then the other. From what Gus could tell, if he followed the right passage, he'd end up in the storerooms, or kitchens, or something. Maybe there would be a way out to the gardens?

Knowing that most castles like this one had gardens, Gus decided he would try and find the route to the gardens, by doing so he would be able to easily survey the world he was on. Unless they had one of those maze-garden things...

Gus in an almost automatic response summoned a shadow, which rose from the darkness and its eyes began to glow red, he then cast another spell which caused the surrounding combat area to become pitch black and prepared to cast vacuum sphere on the first one of the assasins he could see.

Unfortunatley for Gus, the assassins, like the previous four, were drow, and the globe of darkness did nothing to impede their attack. From the sounds inside, two of them were attempting to deal with the shadow. The other 2 came flying out at Gus, weapons bared.

Gus immediatley cast vacuum sphere on one of the attackers, causing all of the air around him to become unbreathable. He then removed a vampire tooth from his back pocket, clenching it in his fist, he prepared for the assasin to get close enough to cast anemia on him.

There was a whistling sound, and the drow dropped to the ground in agony, 4 arrows sticking from his chest. Another 8 flew into the globe, and screams were heard, followed by thumps of dropping bodies. The other one that had been hit with the vacuum...well it wasn't pretty.
When Gus turned to see who had shot the arrows, he found the princess Alae with her sword bared, and at least 12 guards weilding bows, looking uncertainly at the mage. Alae recognized him though,
"You are the void mage that Aunt Alliene summoned." She said, and some of the guards relaxed their bow strings. Alae lifted a silver eyebrow at him "What are you doing down here? I do not think Alliene or Alaerth would want you wandering the castle unsupervised."
