Robin Clym

"No problem, Ferji," Robin replied as he pondered how to convey his message into the thick skull of the Orc.

"GRUMM! PRISONERS! WHERE?!"

"Huh" the orc quieted down for a moment to chew the newest message, obviously shaken by the mean looking man. He fearfully pointed his finger to the captive's way "You no kill Grumm?"

Skye

Skye frowned, realising that it may try to get reinforcements. Hearing that the fighting had disipated(sp?) from the camp, she chanced it and called out. "Oy, there's an orc over here! I could use some assistance catching it, but don't kill it! It may be of some use to us." She chased after the smallish orc, thinking about whether she had a spell or piece of equipment that could restrain it without hurting it too much more.

OOC: as a bard, you can have all the level 0 and four level 1 spells of your choice from the 3E Player Handbook (or 2E) or just four wizard spells from Baldur's Gate II/NWN. You as a bard, cast spells like Sorceress, you can cast 2 lvl1 spells per day.

Skye

The night grew deep, and the over-hanging clouds shifted gradually to block the silvery moonlight. Soon, you could only see as far as your stretched hands before you. The only thing kept you on track was the huffing and puffing ahead. In the distance, another howling was heard along the whistling winds as you run. Soon the campfire was behind you. And when you looked back on occasions, you saw the descending light waving in the distance as if calling you back.

Robin, Sennid, Ferji

You heard Skye's call for aid and the sound of her footsteps floating away, but could only discern a general direction. Both she and the orc were out of sight. The over-hanging clouds gradually shifted to block the moonlight. Looking around, you could only see as far as the perimeter of the campfire's radius. Other than that, there was only the impenetrable night, like the silky nightgown for her Dark Lady.

A bitting wind blew over, and the leaping and shifting fire only served to enhance the darkness further. The orc you captured shivered nervously, unsure of what fate awaited him.

You discerned two directions on where the bard's call came from. Ferji and Robin pointed to one while Sennid another.

Skye

Suddenly you realized you were all alone. Your feet kept on putting distance between you and the compelling campfire, which seemed to shrink as you made each stride.

The stars emitted only a dim light, oh and a brief look up showed you how different they looked from your home. You could recognize a few constellations, but their positions had changed entirely.

To the side, a barely audible sound caught your attention, as if a stick just snapped, or maybe you just stepped on something. A quick glance revealed nothing, and the puffing and huffing sound ahead of you did not seem to slow down.

OOC:

Skye, to clear up the confusion. When you made an attempt to grab the orc, you and the orc were already out of the sight of the main group, perhaps even out of their hearing range. since whichever signs would give the players a reason to pursuit, and they chose not to.

you attacked the orc, and the later ignored that hit and ran on. you called for help, and ran after the orc. by the time the rest of the group perceived your message and understand the situation (a matter of seconds) AND communicate a quick plan of what to do (this one will take as long as a min or more) you could very much be over 400 yards away from the group.

OOC: I think I am starting to turn into an Orc.

Robin Clym

"No Grumm, we no kill you."

Robin was getting worried, he did not want anything bad to happen to Skye, but he knew that it would be unwise to split up the party even more to go search for her, especially since this was an unfamiliar area for everybody. So many things to do, so little time to do them all at once.

"Sennid, please check out the prisoners and offer them any assistance as necessary. Ferji, Grumm, bellow with me. SING! SING! SING! SING! SI-... ..."

Facing the general direction that he last heard from Skye, Robin chanted out loud and hoped Skye could hear them and reveal her location.

Ferji

Ferji laughed his halfling laugh at the idea of him shouting 'sing' with an orc and a human next to a campfire in an unfamilliar area, under the full moon. It would make a fun tale.
He supposed it was better than them going to the woman, as the fire was light and quite warm and the wilderness was not.

So he stood up, still feeling quite bruised and battered, and yelled "SING" with the ranger.

The orc suddenly recoiled before you. He looked about self-conciously, and its yellowish eyes darting from shadow to shadow, all the while inching ever closer to the campfire.

Robin, as you shout out, you saw the orc visibly jumped. But it was too late, the echos of your voice ran through the vast plains, journeying into the darkness unknow.

Skye

You heard the calling. Suddenly you had this distinct feeling that everything seemed to come alive to answer the calls behind you. The black curtains of night that wrapped around you did little to comfort.
