My dad is a mechanical engineer and he's got a good sense of humour

So's mine. In fact my mother's constantly asking him why he's never serious. He makes a joke of everything, he's always fun to be around, but even so, I could see him wanting to keep the talking frog.

My dad's an aircraft flammability and safety certification engineer. He gets to blow up bits of planes (to test what happens in emergencies, not on behalf of Al-Qaeda LOL). How could he not have a sense of humour?

EDIT to say: Blimey, I bet that post would set off a few alarm bells at the CIA if they were tracking this site for key words LOL

OT: I think that whole idea of tracking words like "bomb" etc. in emails is ridiculous! LOL I mean you could just be saying: "I saw this woman today, she was da bomb!" Or as Epona said: "My dad blows up planes for a living"

Here's another one.

A young engineer had just completed MIT and was applying for a job.
When it came to discussing his salary the manager asked him to write his proposal on a white sheet of paper. The engineer podered and put down "$40000/year". The manager took the paper, smiled and said:
"And how would you like 2 months paid vacation at the company's five-star resort, a hot young blonde as assistant and a Corvette company car?"
The engineer: "Are you kidding me?"
Manager: "Of course, but you started it"

What was funny about this one - they pretty much describe the normal pittance and grotty work conditions of the average first year engineer .

Fortunately of course, things get a lot better rather quickly .
