Steve Nash of the Dallas Mavericks
Question: I know you're a big soccer fan and you like to play. What was your best soccer experience? Answer: I got to train with my favorite team, the Tottenham Spurs. It was one of the best days of my life. It was a real thrill. I did the warm-up drills with them and the finishing drills. They were great to me. Question: Now, when most NBA fans hear that you are a Spurs fan, they probably get the wrong idea. You are a big fan of the Tottenham Spurs, though. Answer: Right. I got to train with them a few years ago, and I got to go to a few games. It was such fun. I follow them on the Internet. It's great, it's something that I grew up with. My dad grew up in Tottenham a mile from their ground. So how much was Steve Nash thrilled this week when the most famous sportsman in the stadium was none other them Thierry Henry, a good friend of Tony Parker of the San Antonio Spurs! The Tottenham Spurs - he's such a big fan he doesn't even know their correct name. He follows them on the internet - well that's better than having to watch them I suppose!

What's the point in this thread Donut? To point out that some guy I haven't even heard of, is sad? Or two point out that the club's name is in fact Tottenham Hotspur

On the one hand I may be demonstrating my wide ranging knowledge of world sport. On the other hand I may be making fun of Tottenham in general all being sad. Or I might be laughing at the fact that Steve Nash doesn't know the name of the team he professes to love. In fact the main reason for this post is none of those but an altogether more sinister thing.
