Anyway, BG2 is the one to get. NWN is boring IF you prefer parties of more than 2 people and plenty of NPC interaction. NWN is better for multiplayer and creating your own mods. You can make your own armour and swords, items etc as well. But BG2 is a classic, and the infinity engine is great.

Except for PS:T, the NPC interactions in BGII are by far the most interesting I have ever played. And, now with the Imoen Romance, it is passing PS:T. Run buy it, you will never regret it.

I say NWN because it comes with the handy-dandy auraura toolset allowing you to create awesome worlds of your own imagination and let people play in them while you DM, but thats only if you're creative, and if you're not you can still join the sea of people who mass onto the well designed custom maps, as a single player game BG may win but NWN is all about what D&D REALLY IS, which is getting together with people to play and party while someone DMs...

If you like BGI/TOSC then buy BGII. Not only is it the better game, its also cheaper then NWN in these parts. (not a huge suprise, considering the age of both games)

[/QUOTE]6 months? I havent even been here for five...

BGII got parties, NWN does not. Graphics are better in NWN, but IMO the gameplay is far better in BGII. Theres lots of good MODS aviable to BGII too. NWN is stronger on the multiplayer side, but BGII has the strongest singleplayer.

NWN because the graphic is nicer, it has an editor which mean you can design your own world, the english is easier to understand plus it uses 3e rules which makes more sense.

Definitely BG2 - I finished NWN in two weeks, and found myself somewhat disappointed despite the whiz-bang graphics. OTOH, I have yet to finish BG2 and am enjoying it immensely.

BG2 rocks. i've played it way too much so i should know. NWN is alright but gets boring towards the middle. i only bought it becuase i'd run out of dragons to kill on BG2, and you can only kill a shadow dragon so many times before it gets boring (like once). still with 200 possible hours of gameplay, you won't get bored. NWN is just, dull. not much to it. its just "go and kill him, now him, find these things in tediosly obviose places, now kill him." that pretty much sums up the main quest. i stopped playing and lent the game to a friend.
